  • Patent number: 11624209
Abstract: A door lock for a domestic electrical appliance includes a locking member which is electrically switchable between an unlocking position and a locking position, which locking member in the unlocking position allows a closed door of the domestic appliance to be opened and in the locking position is in blocking engagement with a blockable component at least when the door is closed, and an auxiliary member, separate from the blockable component, which is movable in dependence on the closing of the door from a release position into a blocking position. The blocking engagement effects blocking of the closed door against opening. In the release position, the auxiliary member allows the locking member to be transferred from the unlocking position into the locking position; in contrast, in its blocking position, the auxiliary member blocks the locking member against being transferred from the unlocking position into the locking position.

  • Patent number: 10081966
Abstract: A locking system includes a lockcase which can be embedded within a recess in a jamb of a doorway. A barn door mounted outside of the doorway can be locked in the closed position by actuation of a lock mechanism within the lockcase. The handle interacts with the lockcase, causing a bolt to be translated out of the lockcase and into a strike in the barn door. The strike preferably passes entirely through the barn door, the strike including an outer entry which can be accessed via a key to push back the bolt and defeat the lock for emergency access. Cover plates and handles of different types can be provided for optimal performance. Lock mechanisms within the lockcase convert handle actuation into bolt translation between a collapsed orientation and a deployed orientation for locking the barn door.

  • Patent number: 8083270
Abstract: A safety hook structure for a hood is disclosed. The safety hook structure includes a bracket mounted on a rear surface of the hood and has a protrusion with a groove formed on the center thereof, a safety hook having a pivot portion pivotally inserted in the groove of the protrusion and moving in a horizontal direction, and a resilient member having one end fixed to the bracket and the other end fixed to the safety hook and applying a restoring force to the safety hook. Since the safety hook structure, which is moved in the horizontal direction to unlock the hood, is mounted on the hood, an enlarged buffer space for pedestrian protection is secured between an outer panel and an inner panel of the hood. Therefore, if a pedestrian is struck by an automobile, he/she can be protected by a stable buffer force. Moreover, when the cover portion covers the main body with the second surface facing downward, the two-way latch is drawn by the magnet to a second position, engaging the retainer.

  • Patent number: 7088588
Abstract: A coupling structure includes a hook bar and a force receiving member adopted for use on an electronic device that has a folding member such as a notebook computer that consists of an upper lid and a base. The folding member is the upper lid. The force receiving member and the hook bar have respectively a portion exposed from two neighboring sides of the upper lid, and are coupled by a turning mechanism. When the force receiving member is depressed, it is moved longitudinally towards the upper lid. The turning mechanism transfers the force to push the hook bar moving transversely so that the latch tenons on the hook bar may escape the latch holes on the base to control the coupling condition.

Abstract: A locking device for a dumpster container, wherein the dumpster container is movable between an upright storing position and a tilted dumping position. The locking device includes a main locking device moveable between an engaged position, where the main locking device engages the dumpster container to retain the dumpster container in the upright storing position, and a disengaged position, where the main locking device disengages the dumpster container to permit movement of the dumpster container into the tilted dumping position. The locking device further includes a blocking plate pivotally coupled to the main locking device. The blocking plate is moveable between a blocking position, where the blocking plate prevents the main locking device from moving from the engaged position to the disengaged position, and an unblocking position.

  • Patent number: 6055700
Abstract: A vacuum appliance is disclosed, comprising a collection canister having a lid and a powerhead housing a motor and impeller assembly for establishing vacuum pressure within said canister. The powerhead is removably secured to the lid of the collection canister, such that the powerhead can be removed from the lid and separately used as a blower. Self-actuationg latching devices are provided for removably securing the powerhead to the lid. In one embodiment, the latching device is a unitary, multi-segmented structure having a spring biasing member and a retaining member formed integrally therewith. A journal formed integrally with the latching device is adapted to be received in a bearing defined in a latch socket on the lid, such that the latching device is allowed to pivot with respect to the lid. The spring biasing member functions to bias the latching device to a home pivot position, such that the latching device automatically engages the powerhead when it is lowered onto the lid.

Abstract: A mobile support unit such as an IV stand or the like coupled to a mobile hospital bed, gurney or wheelchair by a latch mechanism which provides hands free operation thereby avoiding the need for a nurse or care provider to manually manipulate the latch to secure the units together for tandem transport. Further, the latch mechanism according to this invention includes a clutch which prevents relative movement of the IV stand or support unit with respect to the hospital bed during transport up to a specific adjustable torque level thereby avoiding the problem of the IV stand or support unit swinging freely relative to the bed during movement. Further, the clutch permits movement of the IV stand or support unit through an arc relative to the bed when a specified force is applied as required by the nurse or care provider to reposition the IV stand or support unit relative to the bed and provide increased access to the patient or the like.
