  • Patent number: 10835970
Abstract: Locking mechanisms are provided for locking the position of a miter gauge assembly to a sliding table of a table saw. The mechanisms are biased to a locking position and this bias can provide a sensible indication that the lock has been engaged. The locking mechanisms are configured to engage the guide bar of the miter gauge assembly at different locations along the length of the guide bar, particularly by engaging a series of spaced apart engagement notches. The locking mechanism thus allows the miter gauge assembly to be locked at several positions along the length of the sliding table, from a fully inboard position to a position in which the miter gauge assembly projects beyond the end of the sliding table. The locking mechanism is provided in different embodiments with manually actuated components that can be push/pull, pivoting, rotating or sliding.

A lock pin has a pin cylinder with a curvature of rotation that engages with a rotation facilitator. The path of the curvature of rotation and the engagement of the rotation facilitator therewith causes the lock pin to rotate in a pre-determined fashion, so that structures on the lock pin can engage or attach to some part of the container to secure the position of the lock pin and hold the closure door in place. Lock pins of the subject invention utilized with safes can inhibit forced entry through the door by side punching or prying of the door.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for a storage container is provided. The locking mechanism is positioned on a center post of the storage container and includes a sled, a handle or knob, a connecting mechanism, a sled arresting mechanism, and a lock. Depending upon the position of the lock, the handle can unlatch the container. When the lock is in the unlocked position, the sled arresting mechanism allows the unlatching of the container. When the lock is in the locked position, the sled arresting mechanism prevents the unlatching of the container. The locking mechanism is resistant to drill attack due to its vertical configuration and positioning of a cover on the center post.

  • Patent number: 8196972
Abstract: A latching device has a resetting device, a triggering device for producing a triggering force which acts in a first direction, a compression element, and an upper and a lower supporting element which, in the latched state, are arranged one above the other in a housing and are connected to each other by at least one coupler such that they are at a distance from each other, and which, in the latched state, are acted upon, to provide a spring-type drive, by a compressive force applied along a line of action via the compression element. The lower supporting element, loaded by the compressive force in the latched state, is deflected against a stop and is held in that position. The paths of movement of the upper and of the lower supporting element are defined by the housing by way of guides. The path of movement for the lower supporting element runs substantially perpendicular to the path of movement of the upper supporting element.

Abstract: A locking system is mounted to a door with three rods extending therefrom. The rods have a locked position extending beyond the periphery of the door and an unlocked position not extending beyond the periphery of the door. Three rod receivers are adapted to receive the three rods in the locked position. A handle rotatably engages cam plates which are operatively engaged with the rods whereby rotation of the handle rotates the cam which moves the rod ends from one position to the other. A locking tab extends forwardly from the lower cam plate into a recess and is engaged by a circular lock while the recess prevents movement of the engaged circular lock. A second locking tab extends forwardly from the rod-locking link and a stationary to locking tab is aligned thereto. Both locking tabs are engaged by a padlock preventing movement of the rod-locking link.

Abstract: A draft excluder for excluding drafts between a door and the floor. The draft excluder is made up of an elongated angled bracket, at least one clip, a flexible covering, and an elongated weight. The flexible covering can take the form of a cloth covering. The elongated angled bracket defines first and second sidewalls with an interior angle there-between. The first and second sidewalls respectively define first and second elongated terminal edges. During normal use the at least one clip holds the first sidewall of the bracket to the bottom of a door such that the interior angle faces downward and towards the floor beneath the door. The flexible covering defines a cover portion that extends between the first and second elongated terminal edges. The cover portion defines an interior surface and an exterior surface. The elongated weight is affixed to the interior surface of the cover portion.

  • Publication number: 20120013135
Abstract: A mortise latchset has an improved leveraged cam assembly, completely internal to the latchset body, versatile enough to allow the door handles to be rotated in either direction to retract the latchbolt, and robust enough to independently bias each of two lever-type door handles toward a handle-centering position, even when one of the handles is being operated. The mortise latchset uses a pair of coaxially mounted cam followers independently leveraged by a cantilevered spring assembly. The cam followers are located between the operating cams and the latch retracting assembly, and each leveraged cam follower is operable to engage the latch retracting assembly to retract the latchbolt, while the other cam follower biases its operating cam in the handle-centering position.
