Abstract: A latch structure comprising an elastic pull latch is disclosed. The top of the elastic pull latch includes a latch bar configured with a latch groove. The elastic pull latch also includes an elastic boss that moves in and out of the latch cover of the pull latch. On both sides of a box, an elastic pull latch is provided at the top and a catch groove having a catch affixed to the lower edge is provided at the bottom. When two boxes are stacked together, the catch in the catch groove of the upper box is snapped into the latch groove of the elastic pull latch of the lower box to securely connect the two boxes. When the latch is released, the catch of the upper box blocks the elastic boss of the latch of the lower box to prevent the latch from retracting inwards.

  • Patent number: 9790708
Abstract: A magnetic self-latching device for a gate has a main body with handles on either side for operation or has an arrangement to be remotely actuated. A latching body has a high strength magnet usually provided at the bottom of a cavity which defines a latching shoulder. The latching body is adapted to be fixed to a gate post. The main body, with its housing, can be mounted on the gate frame and incorporates a latch pin which, in the door-closed position, is displaced by magnetic attraction to an extended latching position and against the biasing of a return spring. The gate cannot be opened until actuation of the mechanism occurs, for example by rotating a handle to retract the pin against the magnetic force; the gate can then be swung open. When the handle is released, the biasing spring retains the latch pin in a retracted position.

Abstract: A lock assembly for a sliding closure has a bolt movable into and out of the path of the closure by a movable plate. A cam surface on the plate retracts the bolt from the path of the closure. A first spring moves the bolt into the path of the closure as the plate is moved by a pivoting reset lever engaging a tab on the plate. The plate is urged in the opposite direction by a second spring. A locking aperture on the plate and a solenoid with an armature engaging the aperture are provided for locking the plate in position at the limit of its travel to hold the bolt in the path of the closure. The solenoid is operated by either an inside or outside switch to release the plate and disengage the bolt. Alternatively, a plunger on the housing can be pushed to manually disengage the armature.

  • Patent number: 4694669
Abstract: A door lock structure for securement in a longitudinal cavity disposed in a door vertical free edge portion or folding door edge post, or the like. The door lock structure comprises an elongated locking rod supportingly guided in the longitudinal cavity. Each rod has a locking free end extendible above an open end of the bore above a horizontal edge of the door. The rod is normally biased in a retracted position in the cavity, with the rod locking free end disposed inwardly of the horizontal door edge. An external rod displacement element is secured to the rod for displacing the rod and the locking free end outwardly of the horizontal door edge to a locking position. A bolt engaging mechanism is disposed inwardly of the door edge adjacent the rod for engaging the rod when placed in its locking position. A key-operated cam is provided on an inside surface of the door vertical free edge portion for disengaging the rod engaging mechanism from engagement with the rod.

  • Patent number: 4565078
Abstract: A locking assembly for a gate locking system comprises a gate movable within opposed channeled guide tracks with one track and gate having aligned apertures. The lock assembly is mounted on the track over the aligned apertures and has a locking bolt slidably mounted within its housing for axial movement between a locking position extending through the track and gate apertures, and an unlocked position removed from the gate and track apertures. The bolt has a radially projecting shoulder on its outer surface between its inner and outer ends. A spring biases the bolt towards its unlocked position. A lug is movably mounted in the housing between a first position engaging the bolt and retaining the bolt in its locking position, and a second position disengaged from the bolt for releasing the bolt for axial movement within the housing.

  • Patent number: 4070048
Abstract: A protective guard for ground floor windows of a dwelling or other building is disclosed herein having a barred grill or grid network releasably secured to the exterior edge marginal region of a window frame. The releasable securement includes a bolt extending through selected bars of the grill and through the window frame with a pull-out pin installed on the interior end of the bolt. A compressed, helical spring is situated between the frame and the pin for forcibly urging the release mechanism out of engagement with the bolt when the pin is withdrawn. Release of the bolt frees the grill so that the grill may be readily removed to permit passage through the window by persons or objects.

  • Patent number: 3955838
Abstract: A door latch mechanism which is actuated by pushing or pulling on a handle in order to disengage the latch bolt mechanism from a strike, thereby avoiding the necessity of having to rotate a knob or handle. The door latch mechanism according to the subject invention is of simple construction and is therefore economical to produce. The mechanism includes a primary latch bolt mechanism slidably mounted within a housing having an open end. The mechanism includes a head portion situated at the open end of the housing and having a bevelled surface, and an integral tail portion. An auxiliary bolt is slidably mounted within the housing adjacent the head portion, the forward portion of the auxiliary bolt likewise projecting through the open end of the housing. The forward portion of the auxiliary bolt is adapted to be urged rearwardly upon rearward movement of the head portion of the primary latch bolt mechanism.
