Lever Patents (Class 292/188)
  • Patent number: 10113294
Abstract: A latch lever bar for use with a latching mechanism of a dipper door includes a latch bar that includes a yoke. The latch lever bar may include an interface portion that includes a straight surface that is configured to contact the yoke of a latch bar and a pivot connecting portion that is configured to pivotally connect the latch lever bar to the door, wherein the pivot connecting portion defines a pivot point that is substantially collinear with the straight surface of the interface portion.

  • Patent number: 8562032
Abstract: A latch assembly (10) is mounted to a follower door (275) of a double door (257). When the follower door (275) is closed while a primary door (259) of the double door (257) is closed, an actuation latch (131) of the latch assembly (10) is moved from a releasing position to a pressing position to move a latch (231) of the latch assembly (10) to a latching position engaged in a groove (37, 300) in a door frame (31) or in the ground (299). When the actuation latch (131) is moved from the releasing position to the pressing position while the follower door (275) is not in the closed position, the latch (231) is retained in an unlatching position, avoiding damage to the latch assembly (10).

  • Patent number: 8556306
Abstract: An anti-pick latch assembly (10) is mounted to a follower door (275) of a double door (257). The latch assembly (10) includes an actuation latch (131) normally extending beyond an end face (291) of the follower door (257) and a latch (231) movable between an unlatching position received in the follower door (275) and a latching position extending out of the follower door (275) into a groove (37) in a door frame (31). When the follower door (275) is closed while a primary door (259) of the double door (257) is closed, the actuation latch (131) is actuated to move a limiting member (90) to a locking position, moving the latch (231) of into the groove (37) of the door frame (31). The limiting member (90) in the locking position prevents the latch (231) from moving out of the groove (37) while the latch (231) is picked.

  • Patent number: 7926539
Abstract: A flood vent access door assembly having a frame assembly defining a fluid entrance aperture; a door pivotally mounted in said frame assembly, where in the door includes at least one ventilation opening formed through the door; and at least one latching/release mechanism for releasably maintaining the door in a fixed position relative to the frame assembly if a level of fluid is not above a determined level and releasing the door to pivot relative to the frame assembly if the level of fluid is above the determined level, wherein the at least one latching/release mechanism comprises a float means coupled to an elongate release arm for determining the level of fluid and releasing a latch of the at least one latching/release mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5201557
Abstract: A slide fastener secures a door of an electrical cabinet to the cabinet frame. The slide fastener releaseably retains the door against the frame when the door and the frame are latched together. The slide fastener includes a door assembly secured to the door and slide keepers attached to the frame. The door assembly includes a lever assembly and a slide assembly. The lever assembly is rotatable between an open position and a closed position and engages and slides the slide assembly in response to rotation of the lever assembly. The slide assembly engages the slide keepers as the lever assembly is rotated.

  • Patent number: 5199753
Abstract: A child resistant latch having a latch operating assembly comprising a latch operating assembly and a striker bar or keeper plate assembly, one of which is supported on a gate and the other of which is to be supported on a gate post. The latch operating assembly comprises a closed box supported a predetermined distance above the striker bar or keeper plate assembly to permit operation only by an adult or tall child. A locking latch member is supported for vertical movement into and out of latching engagement with the striker bar or keeper plate. A guard box surrounds the striker bar or keeper plate when the latch member is in latching position to prevent opening other than by said operating means. A guide tube extends to a point just above the guard box and has a reciprocally movable rod guided for movement therein which interconnects a key-operated, latch operating lever and the latch member for movement in a vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 4291907
Abstract: A drop latch (10) is described which has a bolt (24) that operates vertically within a housing (20). A plurality of arms (34-38) extend nomal from the bolt (24), each arm (34-38) having connected thereto a downward facing striker (40-44) having a tapered face (40a-44a). The housing (20) has a plurality of slots (58-62) therein aligned with the strikers (40-44). A plurality of latch loops (74-78) are mounted on a latch plate (72) and spaced to enter the housing slots (58-62) and contact the strikers (40-44), which are forced upward and over the latch loops (74-78) and drop downward into the interior thereof. The bolt (24) is raised by a lever (18) to disengage the strikers (40-44) from the latch loops (74-78) so that the drop latch (10) can open from the latch plate (72).
