Abstract: An appliance lid lock includes a sensing circuit which senses the position of the lid lock relative to the appliance lid. When the appliance lid is in its closed position and the lid lock retentively engages the appliance lid, a controller causes activation of the appliance driver. When the appliance lid is not in its closed position and the lid lock moves beyond its locked position to a third position, a sensing circuit causes the controller to maintain all the appliance drivers in a deactivated state and to return the lid lock to its original unlocked position.

Abstract: A latch assembly for a movable closure element. The latch assembly has a housing with a peripheral edge defined in part by a substantially straight edge portion extending along a first line. A first rotor is movable relative to the housing selectively between a) a first latched position, b) a release position, and c) a second latched position between the first latched position and the release position. A second rotor is movable relative to the housing selectively between a) a first latched position, b) a release position, and c) a second latched position between the first latched and release positions for the second rotor. An operating assembly has a latched state and an unlatched state. The operating assembly in the latched state releasably maintains the first rotor in its first and second latched positions and the second rotor in its first and second latched positions.

Abstract: This invention relates to a latch mechanism. The latch mechanism comprises a latch bolt rotatably mounted about a pivot on a chassis. The latch bolt is movable from an open condition, in which it is free to receive a striker of a motor vehicle, to a closed condition in which the striker is retained by the latch bolt. The latch bolt comprises an overmold of elastomeric material, which defines first, second and third buffers. The third buffer is adapted to cooperate with an abutment on the chassis to absorb over-travel of the striker when the door of a motor vehicle carrying the latch mechanism is closed.

Abstract: A latch assembly having at least one control element having a first path of motion in which a ratchet is moved to an unlatched position and a second path of motion in which the ratchet is not so moved, the path of motion taken by the control element dependent upon whether an engagement element is engaged with the control element or disengaged therefrom. Abstract: A latch assembly having at least one control element having one path of motion in which a ratchet is moved to an unlatched position and another path of motion in which the ratchet is not so moved, the path of motion taken by the control element dependent upon whether an engagement element is engaged with the control element or disengaged therefrom. Preferably, the control element moves the ratchet by contact with a pawl which itself can be engaged with the ratchet. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, two or more unlatching inputs are capable of unlatching the latch assembly. However, two or more of these inputs are in series rather than in parallel so that the number of paths ending at the element or device holding the latch in its latched state is preferably fewer than the number of unlatching inputs to the latch assembly.

The given operation is an operation wherein under operation of a closure mechanism, the door is moved in a close direction passing through an operative position of a half-latch switch and then moved back in an open direction at a position just before the half-latch position. The given controlling is so made that when the moving member takes a position other than a neutral position upon completion of the given operation, the electric motor is rotated in a reversed direction to move the moving member to the neutral position, and when the moving member takes the neutral position upon completion of the given operation, the electric motor is stopped to keep the moving member at the neutral position.
