  • Patent number: 10196842
Abstract: A door handle assembly includes a bracket mountable to the door and an insertion member received in and retained in the bracket via a retaining mechanism. The retaining mechanism includes a biasing member and a movable locking member that retains the insertion member in the bracket. The movable locking member is biased into a securing position by the biasing member when the insertion member is fully received in the bracket to retain the insertion member in the bracket. The movable locking member is selectively displaceable from the securing position against a force of the biasing member either to permit insertion of the insertion member in the bracket during assembly or to accommodate disassembly by permitting the insertion member to be removed from the bracket.

The handle assembly includes an activation mechanism coupled to an electrically-activated leg. When the activation mechanism is activated, then the electrically-activated leg is moved to an engaged position to engage an actuation pawl to prevent rotation of the actuation pawl so that, upon actuation of a handle strap, the actuation pawl engages and actuates the door latch release. Abstract: A lever operated compression latch has an elongated, hook-ended pawl carrying a longitudinal slot, and is cam guided and pin rotated while translated to engage and withdraw from a keeper cup. The compound movement of the pawl includes a lateral translation towards the keeper cup while rotating there into, followed by a lateral withdrawal to exert a compression force between the latch body which is attached to a door and the keeper cup which is attached to a door frame. A series of interconnected links is operated by a lever handle to fold into one another to provide a compact envelope when the latch is closed and to expand outwardly to open the latch and disengage the pawl from the keeper when operated by the lever. Of this series of links, a pair of release links operates in contact with one another, and rotates on respective individual pivot points to extend outwardly from the latch envelope to engage a striker plate portion of the keeper cup.

  • Patent number: 5474372
Abstract: Disclosed is a door opening/closing device having a simple construction by which a front door of a television receiver can be opened/closed easily, noise and impact can be prevented in the course of opening/closing the front door, and reliable opened and closed states of the front door are guaranteed. In the device, latch hook of a hook lever is engaged with a latch plate of a front door when the front door is closed. When a button is pressed, an actuator rod pushes a lever arm to pivot the hook lever, so that the engagement between the latch hook and the latch plate is unlocked, and the front door is opened by the biasing force of a first spring. When the front door is pivoted about hinge pins and pressed by hands, the latch plate slides along an inclined surface of the latch hook and is engaged again with the latch hook, and then the front door is closed again.
