Link And Cam Patents (Class 292/222)
  • Patent number: 9868367
Abstract: A latch for a vehicle seat may include a hooking component with a hook engagement surface, a first cam with a first cam engagement surface, and a second cam with a second cam engagement surface. The hooking component may be rotatable about a first axis and the first cam and the second cam may be rotatable about a second axis between an engaged position and an unengaged position. The hook engagement surface may contact at least one of the first cam engagement surface and the second cam engagement surface in the engaged position. One of the hook engagement surface or the first cam engagement surface may include a stepped surface extending incrementally from either the hook engagement surface or the first cam engagement surface.

  • Patent number: 8746024
Abstract: A rebound locking mechanism (10) is taught that consists of a spring loaded shaft (28) having an activating flat (34) thereon, a spring loaded latch (78) interfacing with the shaft activating flat and a rebound plate (40) attached to the shaft. An inertia flywheel (56) having an offset protruding striker (58) is in alignment beneath said rebound plate, with an electric motor (60) rotating the flywheel. In operation when the motor rotates the flywheel in a counter clockwise direction, the striker hits a top surface of the rebound plate and bounces the flywheel clockwise until the striker hits beneath the rebound plate causing the shaft to rotate realigning the flat permitting the latch to rotate under spring urging and thereby repositioning the catch from a locked position into an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 8451087
Abstract: A passive entry system for an vehicle door requires no active operator input to gain entrance to the vehicle. A door module recognizes the signal transmitted by an authorized key fob to identify the operator of the vehicle. The authentication of the operator coupled with the operator touching a sensor on the door to be opened actuates a release actuator that unlatches the selected door. The spring-load provided by the door seal will pop the door open from the closed position. A key cylinder, which can be located substantially anywhere on the door, is coupled mechanically to the release latch for use if the battery is weak and cannot activate the release actuator. An LED signals the state of the opening sequence for the door. The fixed door handle can incorporate a membrane switch or a capacitive sensor to indicate the selection of the door by the operator when touched.

  • Patent number: 7029040
Abstract: A device for locking a closure (2) with a housing includes at least one swiveling lever (8), a drive (19) for pivoting the at least one swiveling lever 98) about an axis of rotation and having teeth (20) which interact with teeth (10) provided on the marginal area of the swiveling lever extending around the axis of rotation, at least one catch hook (12) supported on the swiveling lever (8) and having a cam segment (14) concentric to the pivot axis (11) of the at least one catch hook and into which a guide element (9) provided on the swiveling lever (8) engages, and a spring (17) for biasing the at least one catch hook in a closing direction.

  • Patent number: 7017956
Abstract: A lock mechanism includes a cam provided on one of a base member and a movable member and having a swing groove around a roughly heart-shaped projecting portion; a swing member pivotally provided on the other of the base member and the movable member and having a pin for tracing along the swing groove; and an auxiliary device provided on a side where the cam is disposed for contacting and separating from the swing member to restrict an unnecessary movement of the swing member while the pin is tracing the swing groove. In the lock mechanism, when the movable member is pushed against a force of an urging device, the movable member is locked at the first position through the swing groove and the pin. When the movable member is pushed again, the movable member is released and switched from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 6601884
Abstract: A latching assembly includes a latch mounted to a moveable member, the latch being moveable between a first position where it engages a stop of a base member to releasably secure the moveable member to the base member and a second releasing position. An actuator drives the latch between the first and second positions; and at least one spring biases the latch towards the first position.

  • Patent number: 6581422
Abstract: The present invention consists of a molded locking device and opening device together with a cover provided on the top of box, a hook to facilitate locking, and a locking apparatus inside the box opposite to the opening device, and locking device. The present invention is known for two distinctive features: (1) a window provided on the shell of the opening device and a track on the edge of window to facilitate the movement of convex plates, and (2) holes in the lifting plate and locking plate and a folding plate between the lifting plate and opening device. The folding plate connects to one end of the locking plate to trigger the movement of the latch provided on the top of locking plate. Therefore, the design of present invention simplifies the assembly procedure of opening plate, lifting plate and locking plate; thereby reduces the manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 4598939
Abstract: Exit device has auxiliary bolt which when held in by door strike permits a blocking leg to prevent unauthorized forced retraction of main latch bolt. Normal operation of device by panic bar pivots blocking leg out of the way and then retracts main latch bolt.
