  • Patent number: 11932458
Abstract: The present invention relates to a closing ring closure device for a closing ring with a closing lever and a one-piece or two-piece traction bracket, each of which are pivotably mounted by means of pivot bearings on a pivot bearing base on the closing ring side, wherein the traction bracket and the closing lever are pivotably connected to one another by means of a further pivot bearing. For automation in production technology and for the use of mechanical closing ring closure devices, e.g. on automatic filling lines, it is very advantageous if the two components closing lever and traction bracket are provided with special constructive means which are designed in a mutually coordinated functional mode between the two components as a snap-fit device for fixing the closing ring closure device in wide-open closing lever position.

Abstract: A locking band for use with a container having an annular end portion defining a top opening and a removable cover overlying said opening. The locking band comprises a split circular ring, generally U-shaped in cross section, having first and second ends and including an outer circumferential wall. The second end is of a larger size than the first end to define a handle. A first notch opens outwardly proximate the first end and a second notch opens inwardly proximate the second end. Circumferential spacing between the notches is a select amount greater than a circumference of a cover. A band link has a first end and a second end, each end including a shaft receivable in the respective first and second notches. Spacing between the shafts is substantially similar to the select amount. In use, with the split circular ring surrounding the removable cover and annular end portion, the handle is forced inwardly toward the first end until the handle overlies the first end to secure the cover on the container.

Abstract: A feeder tube assembly for a feeder bowl of a glass melting furnace forehearth. The feeder tube assembly has an horizontally extending elongate support arm, and a feeder tube that is carried by the support arm at a location near an end of the support arm. The feeder tube is held in place by a clamping ring that engages a flange of the feeder tube at an end of the feeder tube. The clamping ring is releasably held in engagement with the flange of the feeder tube by a plurality of latch mechanisms that are circumferentially spaced apart. Each latch mechanism has a lever with a rounded cam surface and a handle that extends away from the cam surface and is pivotally attached to a support member. The support member, in turn is pivotally attached to a fixed member, and pivoting of the pivoted support member relative to the fixed member is effective to swing the lever out of interfering relationship with the clamping ring to facilitate removal of the clamping ring.
