  • Patent number: 9140058
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a device to securely support a solar radiation reducing shade screen in a spaced apart relationship to an underlying window. In one embodiment the device is a discrete spacer configured for permanent attachment to a perimeter frame portion of the window, with a bottom surface adjacent the window frame, and a top surface for supporting a perimeter frame portion of the shade screen above the window frame at a uniform height. The device may further include a clamp attachable to the spacer, and operable between a locked position in which the clamp secures the shade screen frame to the spacer, and a released position in which the shade screen frame is not constrained by the clamp.

  • Patent number: 9033378
Abstract: A high security adjustable keyless locking contrivance for preventing the forced opening of a hinged door of unoccupied homes or buildings. An engaging apparatus that incorporates a first armor structural plate combined with a first structural cylinder having a pair of first slots and a connecting bolt shaft, which first structural cylinder inserts into a conventional door knob bore hole with the bolt shaft passing through the existing door latch assembly in concert. A second armor structural plate combined with a second structural cylinder that matingly connects to said first structural cylinder from the opposite side of the hinged door, allowing the penetration of the connecting bolt shaft through the second armor structural plate bolt hole which will conjoin the two devices with a security fastener, thus sandwiching and securing the hinged door and door jamb between the two armor structural plates.

Abstract: A high security adjustable keyless locking contrivance for preventing the forced opening of a hinged door of unoccupied homes or buildings. An engaging apparatus that incorporates an armor structural plate combined with a structural cylinder and a threaded bolt shaft, which cylinder inserts into a conventional door bore hole with the bolt shaft passing through the existing door latch assembly in concert. A second armor structural plate combined with a smaller structural cylinder that slides inside the larger cylinder from the opposite side of the hinged door, allowing the penetration of the threaded bolt shaft through the second armor plate bolt hole which will conjoin the two devices with a security nut, thus sandwiching and securing the hinged door and door jamb between the two armor structural plates.

  • Publication number: 20140091583
Abstract: Enclosure clamps and clamp systems are provided for fastening a cover to an enclosure body to provide an explosion-proof container, while minimizing the number of bolts used over conventional systems. The enclosure clamps and clamp systems create a sufficient force so as to provide a flamepath between the cover and the enclosure body. The enclosure clamps described include a channel for receiving the cover and a flange on the enclosure body. The enclosure clamp is secured to the enclosure body by one or more bolts and/or by a cam actuated securing mechanism. The clamp systems described include a force distributing plate secured to a cover by cam actuated securing mechanism that is coupled to an enclosure body. The enclosure clamps and clamp systems allow a user to attach or remove the cover from the enclosure body more easily than possible with conventional explosion-proof enclosures.

  • Patent number: 7942459
Abstract: A mounting device for a line replaceable unit in an aircraft, and a method for using the same. The mounting device provides for easy installation and removal of a line replaceable unit from overhead mounting apparatus or mounting rails in an aircraft, in particular, an Airbus. The mounting device includes a fixing block having a least one opening, and at least one assembly including a shaft portion passing through the opening, a clamping element and a visual position element whose orientation indicates an orientation of the clamping element. The assembly is operable such that the clamping element secures the device to a component of the vehicle when positioned in a first position, and releases the device when positioned in a second position, and the visual position element provides an indication of whether the clamping element is in the first or second position.

  • Patent number: 7850214
Abstract: A closure safety interlock system is provided for a pressure vessel having a closure assembly with a primary locking system. The closure safety interlock defines a secondary locking system for assuring that the primary locking system may be opened only by following a proper sequence, thereby minimizing misuse of the primary locking system. The closure safety interlock includes a blocking member movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position for blocking movement of a primary lock when in the engaged position and until a release mechanism in the primary lock has been activated. A mechanism is provided for moving the blocking member from the engaged position to the disengaged position once the release mechanism has been activated.

  • Publication number: 20080048460
Abstract: A screw cap assembly for clamping a cover in an opening includes a threaded rod adapted to engage the cover and a clamp threadably connected to the threaded rod. A retainer is adapted to support the threaded rod and to limit the range of movement of the clamp along the threaded rod. Rotational movement of the threaded rod causes the clamp to rotate and travel toward the cover until it engages a first abutment of the retainer, which prevents further rotational movement of the clamp, such that only movement toward the cover in a direction parallel the threaded rod is permitted. Rotational movement of the threaded rod in an opposite direction causes the clamp to rotate and travel away from the cover until the clamp engages a second abutment of the retainer adapted to engage the clamp to prevent further movement of the clamp away from the cover.
