Abstract: Sterilization packaging systems with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants are provided. Such features include a sealing assembly including a gasket and a sheet of filter material. The sealing assembly seals a lid to a seal rim of a base. The gasket has an upper surface, outer edge, and inner edge. The sheet of filter material extends from an inner edge of the gasket, and the gasket completely surrounds the sheet of filter material. The upper surface of the gasket comprises a plurality of indentations that define channels to facilitate delivery of a sterilization agent through the filter material. A sterilization assembly including a lid having a plurality of protrusions in its upper surface and a sliding-lock system for sealing and locking the lid to a container base is also provided.

Abstract: A tamper-proof seal is disclosed for use in connection with sterilization containers. The seal includes a body portion including a sterilization indicating material and a tongue extending from the body portion. The tongue may be in the form of a laminate consisting of a pair of substantially inert outer layers sandwiching a high shrink inner layer. The tongue is designed to engage the latch mechanism of a sterilization container when the container is in the closed position and the latch mechanism is in a latched position. Upon exposure of the container to sterilization conditions, the tongue shrinks, causing the outer layers to fold upon themselves to form at least one pleat. The container latch mechanism cannot be opened without fracturing the tongue of the seal, thereby providing visible evidence of the latch mechanism being opened.

Abstract: A tamper resistant seal and method of forming a seal including a strip having at least one end portion which is foldable about one or more score lines each having two or more segments which converge with one another across the strip generally obliquely relative to a longitudinal axis thereof and wherein the end portion is caused to be severed in a controlled manner to provide visual evidence of tampering.
Abstract: A combination latch and handle which comprises an L-shaped piece of deformable plastic material having a pocket intermediate two locking protrutions. The pocket, which holds a spring metal clip, fits into a slot on the edge of a piece of sheet metal. The locking protrusions pass through openings on either side of the slot to lock the latch and handle into place securely as the forces to install same are at right angles to the forces to engage or disengage the latching mechanism. The spring metal clip is designed to co-act with a pin on a mating piece of sheet metal.
Abstract: The present invention is a tamper-proof security seal which includes a shackling tape and a tape-gripping element with two deformable tape-gripping sections. The first gripping section includes a structural flap folded toward an inside bag-receiving side of the seal so that the fold is essentially concealed when the seal is used. The first section also includes an enlarged tooth integral with the first section to grip a bag around which the seal is applied. The second tape-gripping section has a plurality of inwardly pointing teeth inside the second section.A method of manufacture of the security seal is also disclosed.
