Patent number: 9102887Abstract: A pellet binder is described comprising silicate 60-97 by wt %, catalyst 3-40 by wt %, and the balance as water. The catalyst comprises glycol at 10-40 wt %, sulphonate at 10-20 wt % and sulphate 5-10 wt %. Such a pellet binder can be used in various processes for producing commercially useful pellets.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2012Date of Patent: August 11, 2015Assignee: Silform Technologies Ltd.Inventor: Fredrick McGoldrick

Patent number: 6464269Abstract: A tamper resistant security device, a removal tool, and methods of engaging and disengaging the tamper resistant security device are provided. The tamper resistant security device includes a locking pin including a head, a shaft, and a groove, a locking cap comprising a blind hole, a groove formed inside and substantially coaxial with the blind hole, and a snap ring fitting within the groove and further capable of snapping into the groove of the locking pin. A protective cover includes a closure device cavity, a locking pin hole extending through the protective cover, a locking cap cavity, and an alignment hole. During assembly, the protective cover is placed over the closure device, the locking pin passes through the locking pin hole, and the locking cap is placed in the locking cap cavity and the snap ring of the locking cap is retained in the locking groove of the locking pin.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2001Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Inventors: Richard E. Patent number: 5548981Abstract: A lock assembly is disclosed for small computers and similar electronic devices of the type that must be locked yet must permit access for repair even when the proper key is not available to the repair person without requiring that the expensive lock or its mounting be damaged. Further, readily visible evidence of the forced access must be apparent to a casual observer of the computer. Forced entry detection is provided by the instant invention through the use of a fracture ring having support elements seated into recesses in a rebated cover opening which hold the lock assembly in place during normal use but which allow the assembly to become axially misaligned after the lock has been forced. Frangible portions of the lock support hold the lock assembly in both rotational and axial stability which stability is lost when the frangible portions are broken.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1994Date of Patent: August 27, 1996Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Richard D. Patent number: 5452930Abstract: A tamper indicating device for use on any container or enclosure has a security strap or other elongate connecting member for securing to between one part of a container or other item and a movable closure for the item, and a base unit for releasably trapping at least one end of the strap so that the container or item cannot be opened without first releasing the strap. The base unit has a recess for releasably retaining the strap end, and an access opening to the recess across which a tamper indicating label can be applied to the base unit. The only access to the recess to release the strap end is via the access opening, and once the label is applied the strap end can only be released by first tearing off or removing the label.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1993Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Inventor: Brian R. Patent number: 4991889Abstract: Engagement lock comprising two members (1 and 2) which can be interlocked after they are passed through the locking rings (3, 4) of a container. The first member (1) is rod-shaped and has a head (5) which cannot pass through the locking rings (3, 4). Opposite the head it has an insertion end (6) of metal. The lock cannot be broken by bending the rod-shaped body from side to side because this body has a core of steel wire (12) whose elongation extends into the head. The elongation of the steel wire (12) is embedded in polyacetal which also forms the head (5), and the layer of polyacetal around the steel wire (12) has one or more annular grooves (14) in which it can break by bending the rod-shaped body.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1985Date of Patent: February 12, 1991Inventor: Preben M. Patent number: 4893853Abstract: A padlock-type security seal having tamper-indicating means to cause the shackle ends to break through and protrude from the walls of the seal body when serious attempts are made to remove the shackle. The seal includes a pair of slots each having a shoulder for engaging the shackle ends. When serious attempts are made to force the shackle from the seal, a ramp will engage the shackle ends and force them against the seal walls. With sufficient force applied to the shackle, the shackle ends will rupture the seal body.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1989Date of Patent: January 16, 1990Assignee: E. J. Patent number: 4792167Abstract: A releasable bolt device 1 for securing an emergency exit door 2 comprises a support structure 3 of box-like form, a bolt member 4 slidably mounted on the structure 3 for movement relative thereto, a compression spring 5 for urging the bolt member 4 away from the door-securing position, a frangible keep member 6, and a plate 7 for retaining the keep member 6 in place whereby its presence maintains the bolt member 4 in a door-securing position. The frangible keep member 6 is weakened locally so that it may be deliberately broken at that locality by manual force applied to it, whereby the bolt member 4 is moved out of its door-securing position by the spring 5.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1986Date of Patent: December 20, 1988Inventors: James C. King, Michael A. Cooper

Patent number: 4690444Abstract: The invention relates to a security seal comprising a flexible strip (7), a locking box (1) attached to a first end of the strip, and a free second end of the strip being insertable through an entry slot (4) in the locking box for non-detachable locking therein. An indicating member (13) is arranged inside the box adjacent a rupturable wall (5) thereof so that, when locking of the free end of the strip is effected, the indicating member is caused to rupture the wall and thereby provide visible evidence of locking.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1986Date of Patent: September 1, 1987Assignee: Envopak Group LimitedInventor: Frank H.
