Abstract: A safety gate has a gate body and two first locking units. The gate body has two first connecting elements. The two first locking units are respectively mounted on two opposite sides of a door frame. Each first locking unit has a second connecting element and a blocking element. When the safety gate is closed, each of the first connecting elements is connected with a respective one of the second connecting elements. Each blocking element has a blocking position for blocking a corresponding first connecting element to prevent the corresponding first connecting element from being disengaged from the second connecting element and a pressed position to allow-the corresponding first connecting element to detach from the second connecting element of the first locking unit.

  • Patent number: 5931515
Abstract: A locking device for doors, intended for connection between the dead-bolt of the door and the drive means of the lock including a hinged arm which is connected to the dead-bolt or its extension, a wheel or pin being arranged at the other end of the hinged arm and designed to tumble into a recess formed in a pivotable cam-disc, or to be disengaged from this recess by means of a link mechanism, whereupon in the latter position, the cam-disc is arranged to block the dead-bolt in the first position and upon tumbling into the recess to release it, the dead-bolt has an inclined surface designed so that upon pressure against the door, the bevelled surface assists in opening of the door.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a door latch having an auxiliary bolt which activates the latch bolt, and the use of a latch to confine small children in the home. The auxiliary bolt has a hinged beveled end which pivots when the door is opened but is fixed when the door is closed to activate the latch. The latch is placed five feet above the floor to prevent a small child from opening the door. The latch has a guard plate below the door handle to prevent a small child from opening the latch with a stick. The latch can be mounted on any side of any door.

  • Patent number: 5820177
Abstract: A mortise lock assembly is provided for mounting in a door opposite a strike plate on a door jamb. The assembly includes an automatic deadbolt feature with a bolt retractor arm that directly contacts and applies inward retraction pressure to a latch bolt and a deadbolt in response to bolt retractor hub rotation to retract the latch bolt and the deadbolt. Two deadbolt stops engage two housing stops when the deadbolt reaches the deadbolt extended position and restrain the deadbolt against further outward movement. Coil extension springs continuously bias the deadbolt and the latch bolt against retraction. A dead lock blocker releasably holds the deadbolt in the deadbolt extended position. The bolt retractor arm is additionally engageable with the blocker to release the blocker in response to bolt retractor hub rotation. A trigger releasably engages and retains the deadbolt in the deadbolt retracted position.

  • Patent number: 5711558
Abstract: A locking mechanism for locking a first member that is inserted into a second member into a first member, such as to secure an inductive coupler in a charge port while it is used to charge an electric vehicle. The locking mechanism prevents premature or malicious removal of the coupler before charging has been completed. The locking mechanism has logic that allows a user to set the lock in the charge port prior to insertion of the coupler. The locking mechanism has an actuator coupled to a rotatable link that is rotated thereby. A first pin is coupled to the rotatable link and a hole disposed in the first member that mates with the first pin to lock the inductive coupler in the charge port. A spring loaded release mechanism coupled to the first pin that permits the first pin to slide into the hole. Motion of the cable and the release mechanism releases and locks the first pin in the hole, or retracts the first pin from the hole, thus locking and unlocking the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5666830
Abstract: A security lock having a main locking bolt connected to a U-shaped tail member slidably mounted in a housing secured to the door. The U-shaped tail member has an upper branch engaged by a turnable driving arm for movement between a retracted unlocked position for the main bolt and an extended locked position therefor. A spring biasses the driving arm to move the U-shaped tail member to the extended locked position. A key cylinder and an interior handle are connected to the driving arm to turn the arm and unlock the bolt. A spring-loaded latch is biassed to engage the lower branch of the U-shaped tail member in the retracted unlocked position. In the closed position of the door, the latch releases the U-shaped tail member which, under the action of the spring, drives the main bolt to its locked position. The latch can be operated when the door is open to release the U-shaped tail member so the main bolt extends from the lock.

  • Patent number: 5615919
Abstract: A deadbolt extender which automatically extends a deadbolt when the door upon which it is mounted is closed. The deadbolt extender comprises a tongue body reciprocating within a tongue body track, a deadbolt reciprocating within a deadbolt track, and a release mechanism releasably engaged with the tongue body. A tongue attached to the tongue body retractably engages a spring-loaded deadbolt latch. The tongue body track diverges from the deadbolt track, so that when the tongue body is at an extension end of the tongue body track, the tongue is retracted out of the way, and the deadbolt may be operated conventionally, using a conventional deadbolt drive mechanism. The deadbolt extender will not extend the deadbolt automatically upon door closure unless first cocked, thereby eliminating unwanted "lockouts".

  • Patent number: 5058938
Abstract: A drive-rod lock has drive rods which can be displaced by turning a door handle or the like, and a nut associated with the door handle. The nut, held in its basic central position, can be swung out of that position against spring action in the opposite direction. The lock case bears a cuff rail which continues beyond the lock case into freely extending cuff-rail sections behind which there are guided drive rods. The drive rods control additional lock members, for instance swivel bolts, arranged in the region of the cuff-rail sections. These locking members operate both by the turning of the door handle and as a result of release of at least one force accumulator acting on the drive rods. Operation is obtained by means of a release which is actuated upon the closing of the door by the frame, or the like, and for a favorable positioning of the release even with a small depth of the drive-rod lock.

Abstract: A selectively self-locking deadbolt latch for incorporation into doors or the like. The latch can be preliminarily "armed" such that as the door closes the bolt will extend into the opening of the door strike. The latch mechanism includes a cam lever having a shoulder which loads against the bolt extension. A compression spring within the bolt urges the bolt towards the locked position once the cam lever is released from the bolt extension by closing the door.
