Abstract: An actuator for an electronic door lock includes a stationary first magnet assembly, a beam, and a second magnet assembly. The first magnet includes at least one magnet stationarily positioned within the electronic door lock. The beam is movable relative to the first magnet assembly to a first position and a second position. The second magnet assembly is connected to the beam and is configured to be magnetically repulsed away from the first magnet assembly. The repulsion of the second magnet assembly maintains the beam in either the first or second position until the beam is selectively actuated therefrom.

  • Patent number: 8690205
Abstract: A sensor assembly for generating a request to exit (REX) signal for a door lockset operable with a latch operator and a controller that can signal an alarm. In one embodiment, the sensor assembly includes a mounting member adapted to be in a fixed position in the door lockset, a rotatable member adapted to rotate in response to rotation of the latch operator, and a sensor mounted to the mounting member. The sensor is spaced from the rotatable member and is configured to detect rotation of the rotatable member. When the rotatable member is rotated corresponding to rotation of the latch operator, the sensor detects the rotation, and a switch in the sensor, which may be magnetic, is actuated, closing a circuit to send a REX signal to the controller. The sensor assembly may be associated with a chassis of the door lockset.

Abstract: A multistage lock has a stationary frame, an inner frame, an outer frame mounted between the stationary and inner frames, multiple stops mounted on the stationary and inner frames, two sliding panels mounted on the outer frame and a handle assembly connected to the sliding panels. Stopping protrusions of the stops selectively engage limiting protrusions on the sliding panels when the at least one handle is turned. Consequently, the inner and outer frames are selectively opened. The multistage lock has a simplified structure and allows people to decide whether a door panel (window) is open according to situations and weather outdoors.

  • Patent number: 8491023
Abstract: A lock assembly for use with a latch movable from an extended position to a retracted position, and the lock assembly includes an interior assembly and an exterior assembly. The interior assembly includes an interior handle manually movable to retract the latch and a locking member manually operable such that the locking member is movable from an unlocked position to a locked position. The exterior assembly includes an exterior handle manually operable to retract the latch when the locking member is in the unlocked position and inoperable to retract the latch when the locking member is in the locked position. The exterior assembly further includes a biasing member that biases the locking member toward the unlocked position. When the locking member is in the locked position, movement of the interior handle to retract the latch causes the biasing member to move the locking member to the unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 8474889
Abstract: A device for actuating a lock mounted in a door includes a handle with a bearing extension at one end, which can be installed from the exterior of the door in a bracket mounted in the interior of the door. A two-part electrical control unit has one control unit located in the handle and a second control unit in the vehicle. Electrical wiring with two sections, which are connected to each other by an electrical coupling part and a mating coupling part, extends between the two parts of the control unit. A receptacle for the electrical coupling part is provided in the bearing extension of the handle. The mating coupling part at the end of one section of wiring projects out through the opening in the exterior panel of the door and is fitted into the coupling part of the handle before the handle is installed. When the handle is to be installed, a common structural unit is available, composed of the handle, the coupling part, and the mating coupling part.
