Sliding And Swinging Patents (Class 292/5)
  • Patent number: 4740021
Abstract: The locking device is provided with a jaw for receiving a swinging pin or trunnion, e.g. on the side or tail board of a truck or lorry, as well as with a bolt for the jaw opening. It also has a pivotably mounted claw movable by the bolt by means of a cotter gear and this claw grasps said pin as soon as it is in the pivoting region of the claw and forces it into the jaw. The bolt is advanced synchronously with the claw movement. The swinging pin is held by the bolt with supporting of the claw in the jaw.

  • Patent number: 4688834
Abstract: A locking device has a slide accommodated in a stationary casing and spring biased in the direction causing it to project out of said stationary casing. When the slide is retracted into said stationary casing, a locking arm which is pivotally coupled to the slide is turned to a position facing the exposed end of the slide where it catches an engagement member between itself and the end of the slide. The slide can be locked in a retracted state by a cam member. When the slide is released from the locked state by the cam member, the locking arm can be brought away from the end of the slide.

  • Patent number: 4641865
Abstract: A multi-point closure control mechanism or lock especially designed for use with rear and/or side doors of a closed body highway truck, particularly a so-called panel truck, and for use with doors of military vehicles. The closure control mechanism comprises two dead bolts, slidably supported in suitable brackets adjacent to the upper and lower edges of a door near its free vertical edge, that engage keepers or catches in the form of plates on the vehicle body. Each bolt has a free running roller therein to facilitate entrance and retraction of the bolt into and out of engagement with its respective keeper or catch. The dead bolts are connected by rod members to pivots eccentrically located on a lock operating member rotatable in a frame member fixed to the door intermediate the bolts. The operating member also includes a cylindrical rod-like projection extending normal to the free edge of the door when the bolts are engaged with their keepers or catches at the top and bottom of the door.

  • Patent number: 4335909
Abstract: An articulated linkage locks the various access panels, covers, and plates opening into an engine and its accessories. A spring loaded shaft is used to drive a bell crank and a set of catch bolts. Each catch bolt is matched with a catch plate joined to one of the panels, covers and plates granting access to the engine and its components. A pair of doors covering the instrument panel is used to reposition the spring loaded shaft and bell crank. Locking the doors together therefore locks the catch bolt and catch plates together in one stroke and with one lock.

  • Patent number: 4261189
Abstract: A retainer plate is pivotally mounted on a panelboard cabinet door lock housing, which carries a latch for locking the door. A detent on the plate engages in a rabbet opening to enable limited opening movement of the door in response to the pressure developed by arc gases generated by fault currents passing through a tripped circuit breaker in the panelboard cabinet. For ordinary opening movement, the lock latch is manually operated to pivot the retainer plate and disengage the detent from the rabbet opening.

  • Patent number: 3967477
Abstract: A combination lock is disclosed that has a plurality of separately dialed tumblers mounted for rotation around spaced parallel axes. The tumblers extend through openings in a plate and each carries a fence that cannot pass through the opening. Each opening has a lateral gate slot to receive the fence of the tumbler in the opening. The plate must move over the fences to open the lock which it cannot do until the tumblers are positioned so the fences are positioned in alignment with the gate slots. Provision is made for changing the combination when desired and for opening the lock with a master combination when the current combination is forgotten. Also, in one embodiment, the lock can be opened with a spare combination in addition to the master when the current combination is forgotten or lost.
