Said bracket is in the shape of an arch bridge and is provided with an arch portion received in said receiving opening and mounting portions on both ends of the arch portion. With the vehicle safety anti-collision device, the energy generated during a vehicle collision can be absorbed immensely, and the damage caused by collision to the vehicle and people can be reduced.

Exterior flexible sheet cladding mounted on the beam defines an elongate internal chamber between its inner surface and the outer surface of the beam. An elongate resilient impact absorber is mounted to the beam and housed within the internal chamber, with top, bottom, inner and outer surfaces. Vertically extending cavities within the impact absorber, each opening to at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the impact absorber provide resilient collapsing and rebound of the impact absorber on impact. The absorber may include variations in the size and shape of cavities, thickness of walls between cavities, and variations in the characteristics of material of which it is moulded in order to modify the resilient characteristics of the absorber to suit different design needs.

    Abstract: An impact absorber is disclosed herein having a single or a pair of box-beam inflatable members arranged in guided sliding relationship. Elongated slots and shear bolts cooperate to releasably couple the inflatable members together so as to absorb shock prior to shearing. A resilient inflatable block is carried on the forward terminating end of one beam member while a resilient pad is carried on the terminating end of the other beam member in alignment to interfere with the sliding movement of the first member. The various impact-absorbing elements are arranged in a series for sequential actuation upon application of an impact. The inflatable block absorbs shock first, followed by the shear bolts and finally the resilient pad.
