  • Patent number: 12102574
Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide a wheelchair bumper wing. The wheelchair bumper wing may be installed on a manual or electric wheelchair. In embodiments, two wheelchair bumper wings are used, with one wheelchair bumper wing installed on each side of the wheelchair. The wheelchair bumper wings serve to protect the wheels and other components of the wheelchair. In particular, when navigating narrow areas such as doorways, it is possible for a wheelchair wheel to collide with an obstruction, such as a pole or wall, which can potentially cause damage to the wheelchair and/or cause injury to the person sitting in the chair. Some wheelchairs can be quite expensive. The wheelchair bumper wings of disclosed embodiments can help to protect wheels, axles, motors, and other components of a wheelchair in the event of side contact with a structure such as a pole, wall, door jam, or other object. Disclosed embodiments can be used with conventional manual wheelchairs and/or motorized wheelchairs.

  • Patent number: 9487171
Abstract: A side under-ride collision guard is described configured to be mounted on a large trailer equipped with a sliding rear axle, comprising at least two linear fixed energy absorbing beam structures mounted axially with the trailer and attached to a plurality of support members connecting the beam structures to opposing ends of the trailer's floor beams, and at least two linear telescoping beam structures axially adjustable for position with respect to the fixed beam structures. The guard diminishes the impact hazard to other roadway users that is presented by the lower axial edge(s) of the cargo compartment in the two outboard regions that exist between the trailer's protected regions, which are typically the landing legs or prime mover rear tires to the front and the trailer's sliding axle assembly to the rear of the trailer.

Abstract: A car protector dimensioned and configured to protect car side panels from dings and dents caused by other cars, especially when the doors of the other cars are opened in a car parking lot. The protector is made of a durable, weather resistant outer material that encapsulates a foam type or inner material. The foam type material provides a cushion that dampens the force of a car door thus preventing the car door from damaging the side panel. A cable is attached to the car protector on one end and attaches to the car on an opposite end via suction cups. Magnets are disposed within the outer material and allow the protector to stay affixed to the car.
