Abstract: The prosthetic device is a general use prosthetic device for shower and daily mobility applications which provides a semi-custom fit. The semi-custom fitment of the leg height and anatomical sizing of the affected leg amputation are possible via configurable liner pads which can be interchanged within the support socket based on need by the wearer. The device is capable of being used on either the left or right leg with no modifications to the device and can be secured to the wearers residual limb via a friction fit between the socket liner and limb. Furthermore, an ergonomic handle and grip provides another point of control for the device to assure safety and security.

Abstract: Tongs for food preparation and a method for preparing food using tongs are presented. The tongs include a first and second arm connected to a connecting portion, the arms including each a head portion including a gripper portion for grabbing a food item when the first and second heads are brought toward each other, the gripper portion defining a portion of a cavity for holding the food item, and a spreader portion for inserting into and spreading portions of a receiving food item when the first and second heads are moved away from each other, the gripper portions of the first and second head portions being both disposed on a first side of a center plane, the spreader portions of the first and second head portions being both disposed on a second side of the center plane.

Abstract: A grill removal assembly removes a hot grill grate from an appliance such as a grill, smoker, oven, or the like. The assembly includes a handle has a slot and a pair of tabs. The slot may insertably receive a selected one of a rod on a grill. The tabs may be positioned beneath a central rod on the grill when the slot receives the selected rod. A stabilizer is attached to the handle. The stabilizer abuts the selected rod when the slot receives the selected rod thereby facilitating the handle to remove the grill from an oven.

Abstract: Grill accessories and food preparation devices are shown and described. In one embodiment, the grill accessory is used to remove a cooking grate from a grill and retain the accessory in a resting position on a ledge or the like. The accessory may include a handle assembly having an upper handle and a lower lateral support. The accessory typically includes at least one prong extension. Further, a vertical support spaces the lateral support and the prong extension. The result is grilling systems and methods to improve grilling and food hygiene practices.

Abstract: A tool for removing an interchangeable cooking insert from a grill has a handle end and an engagement end. A handle extends from the handle end toward the engagement end. A support arm extends from the handle toward the engagement end. The support arm has a first lateral edge defining a first lifting hook and a second lateral edge defining a second lifting hook. The first lifting hook and second lifting hook are configured to engage a portion of the cooking insert. A support pin extends across the support arm between the first lateral edge and the second lateral edge. A latch member is pivotally coupled to one of the support arm and the handle. The latch member includes a first end selectively engageable with a portion of the cooking insert and a second end extending through the handle for actuation of the latching member by a user.

Abstract: A handle set is used for detachable connection to a grill. The handle set includes a handle and a holding element. The handle includes an arched connecting element, two levers extending from the arched connecting element, and two hooks each extending from a respective one of the levers. The hooks are engaged with a crossbar of the grill in a releasable manner while the levers are in contact with another crossbar of the grill in a releasable manner. The holding element includes a rectilinear connecting element secured to the levers and two hooks extending from the rectilinear connecting element. The hooks can be engaged with another crossbar of the grill in a releasable manner.

Abstract: A tool to be used for controlling campfires. This tool is has a bright or reflective mainshaft to place users on notice of its location, and its potentially dangerous temperature. This tool has a hook portion to accommodate standard sizes of camp fire wood for the control thereof. This tool also has a straight arm that extends beyond the hook portion to control the fire while poking at it, with no interference from the hook portion. The handle also has a directional compass. Further, a thermal barrier collar may be disposed adjacent the mainshaft or handle.

Abstract: A grilling implement and method of use thereof, the grilling implement comprising at least one hook having a tip, a shaft and a heel. The shaft and heel lie coplanar, and the tip curves upward out of the plane of the shaft and heel such that the hook can be passed under the tines of a grill grate, and the tip thereof maneuvered over the grill tines to securely hold the grate. The grilling implement further comprises at least one bar lying coplanar with the heel and shaft of the hook, wherein the bar supports the grill grate when rotated under the tines of the grate. The grilling implement can also be utilized to maneuver charcoal briquettes or break apart natural charcoal logs.

Abstract: A tool includes an elongate body having a handle unit on one end and a grill contacting unit on another end. The grill contacting unit includes diverging tines with each having a beveled edge that may be scraped against a bar of a grill to clean that grill. A hollow tube is positioned in the grill contacting unit to contain a match that is used to ignite charcoals.

Abstract: A grill lifting tool comprises an elongated handle with a head attached to a distal end thereof relative to a user. The head presents a first slot adapted to receive at least two bars of a grate therein, and a second slot in communication with the first slot for capturing one of the grate bars within the first slot upon a lifting of the proximal end of the handle by a user. A third slot is presented in the bottom side of the head for capturing another grate bar upon lifting of the handle by a user. The head further includes a hook pivotally attached to a side of the head for releasably coupling the tool to the bar of the grate that is aligned with the second slot. The head of the lifting tool is also configured as a scraper and includes a brush for cleaning the bars of the grate.

Abstract: A tool for lifting hot or unaccessible lids or covers with handles is described. The apparatus consists of a handle with a hook that pivots and a stabilizing member. The hook attached to the pivot also can have a stabilizing member attached thereto. The hook and stabilizing member provide a snug contact with the lid when lifting the lid vertically without deviation from the horizontal plane. A hook proximal or attached to the stabilizing member can engage the handle of the lid while the stabilizing member attached to the pivotal member snugly contacts the lid providing a method of lifting the lid so that it deviates from the horizontal plane without loosing stability.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for grasping and lifting a lid having a handle and for lifting the vessel with which the lid is associated is disclosed. The apparatus is particularly directed to use with Dutch ovens and includes two elongated rods conjoined together, one rod being adjustably coupled with the other rod, and each rod having a handle for grasping formed at one end. One rod has a hook formed at the end thereof opposite the handle, and the other rod has stabilizing structure attached to the end thereof opposite the handle. As the user grasps the handles of the two rods in his hand and brings the handles together, the hook engaged to the handle of the lid raises the lid slightly until the lid contacts the stabilizing structure. The lid is thereby securely held between the hook and the stabilizing structure and is prevented from wobbling.

Abstract: A system, including apparatus and methods, which facilitates the use of dutch ovens, usually combined with a charcoal heating source, in outdoor cooking. The first apparatus is a safe, independent, time-efficient device which quickly preheats charcoal briquettes contained in a portable hopper, accomplishing the same by means of a self-contained, transportable, propane-fueled burner. A second apparatus is a sturdy, portable cooking stand, which, in the "as used" position, provides a safe, elevated site whereupon the charcoal heating source and a plurality of dutch ovens can be conveniently placed for cooking purposes, and which, in the "as transported" position, is disassembled and may be carried facilely to more desired locations. The third apparatus is a T-handled dutch oven and dutch oven lid lifting device whereby said ovens and/or lids may be conveniently and safely removed from and replaced on the heating source.

Abstract: A fireplace tool comprising an elongated rod member having a handle grip on one end and a pointed poker formed on the other end and including a plurality of four-sided chisel members extending through the elongated rod at a portion near the poker end. Each chisel member includes a plurality of teeth formed along each edge defined by the four sides thereof. The teeth are formed by cut-outs in each edge. The chisel members are spaced approximately one-half inch apart and are aligned along the line axis of the elongated rod member. Further, the chisel members protrude either in equal amounts through the elongated rod member, or, in progressively increasing amounts commencing from the poker end.

The handle body has a first slot formed therein being wider than a bar of a grate and being elongated in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, whereby a bar of a grate may be inserted in the first slot for pushing a grate. The grate handle also has a second slot formed therein being wider than a bar of a grate and being elongated in a direction substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis, whereby a bar of a grate may be inserted in the second slot for pulling a grate.

Abstract: The utility tool facilitates the handling of rotisserie spits particularly heated spits during cooking. The tool can be used to carry a spit crosswise or lengthwise. A stepped slot is formed in a projected plate mounted at one end of the tool for engaging the spit crosswise for lifting the latter from a cooking appliance. Another slot is formed in a second projected plate mounted at the second end of the tool to facilitate adjustment of meat forks used on rotisserie spits. An arcuate notch is formed in one of the projected plate to facilitate cleaning of the cooking grill as well as placement of the meat forks into the meat being cooked.

Abstract: Fireplace tongs comprising a pair of levers connected to one another between their respective ends by means of a first pivot in the manner of scissors, this first pivot defining on one side thereof operating arms and on the other side thereof extensions of the operating arms. One of the extensions constitutes a first jaw for the tongs while a second jaw, similar to the first jaw, is pivotally mounted at one of its ends to the end of the other extension away from the first pivot. A connecting link is provided of which the ends are pivotally mounted on the jaws respectively on one side and on the other side of the first and of the second pivot and adjacent thereto, whereby closing in of the arms causes tightening of the jaws and, alternatively, spreading apart of the operating arms causes loosening of the jaws.

Abstract: The barbecue grill lifting tool of this invention has a substantially cylindrical rear handle and a front grill engaging element, connected by an elongated rigid stem which disposes the element below and in front of the handle. The grill engaging element has substantial width, with side edges symmetrical to a plane containing the axes of the handle and stem, and it defines top and bottom surfaces normal to the plane and approximately parallel to the handle axis. In the bottom surface is a transverse groove, spaced back from the front edge of the grill engaging element, wherein one rod of a grill is received for stabilization of the grill while an adjacent rod is supportingly engaged by the top surface. The front portion of the element is configured for use as a grill rod scraper.

Abstract: Fireplace tongs comprising a tubular stationary member including a handle located at one end, and a telescoping member having one end slidably received within the stationary member. The stationary and telescoping members include downwardly depending claw-like arcuate tines for gripping a log therebetween. An elongated handle is pivotally attached to one end of the upper side of the telescoping member and terminates at its opposite end in a handle. The telescoping member is shiftable between an open and a closed position for accepting and firmly holding a log.

Abstract: A blow-through fireplace implement for arranging and stimulating the burning of combustible materials includes an elongate structure having a handle formation near one end and a material-engaging formation near the other end. An inlet is defined by the handle structure. An outlet is defined by the material-engaging formation. A passage is formed through the structure for comunicating the inlet and the outlet. A valve is provided within the handle for selectively permitting gases to be blown into the inlet and discharged from the outlet to stimulate burning of combustible material, and for preventing gases entering the outlet from being drawn out through the inlet. The material-engaging formation includes a foot configured to rest flatly on the floor of a fireplace when the outlet is oriented in a preferred direction for stimulating the burning of combustible materials.
