  • Patent number: 11284699
Abstract: A carrying aid for hands-free carrying of a load in a suspended state between the two users, for example to transport a decedent body in a cadaver bag. Each carrying aid features a body-worn harness adorned over the user's shoulders, a securement member connected to and supported by the harness at a position approximately midway point across the user's body, and a yoke attached to the harness by the securement member. The yoke has a pair of diverging support arms spanning laterally outward from their attachment to the securement member. Each support arm carries a respective coupling component by which the yoke is connectable to a cadaver bag or other carrier on or in which a load is to be borne. Two users adorn respective aids with their yokes respectively situated anteriorly and posteriorly of the two users, who can both therefore face and walk forwardly in the travel direction.

  • Patent number: 8925985
Abstract: A garden hand-weeding tool, which distributes, rather than concentrates, gripping forces in order to effectively grip and remove plants, including their roots, from the soil without crushing or severing them and without clogging the apparatus. The present invention generally comprises; pivotally connected specially contoured jaw and handle assemblies, a non-crushing gripping zone, and an opening for soil and debris to exit the gripping zone upon repetitive use. The jaws, biased to an open state, are positioned into the soil longitudinally about a weed and then closed via the operator's hand grip/force applied to the handles. The jaws when fully closed do not create a complete mating closure along their length thereby eliminating the chance of severing the weed or root. This allows the entire weed including roots to be easily removed from the soil. A jaw is self-cleaning with each new mouthful pushing the last out through the opening.

The gripper comprises a handle, a gripper head and at least three hinges, wherein the handle and the gripper head comprise two first legs extending in an elongated manner, which are connected to one another via the first hinge, which has a first rotation axis aligned transversely to the elongated extension of the legs, so that two counteracting levers are provided by means of the first hinge as a first support. Two lever arm sections act as force arm sections, thus being assigned to the handle, and two lever arm sections act as load arm sections, thus being assigned to the gripper head. On each of the two lever arm sections that are assigned to the gripper head, a gripper jaw is pivoted in the interior of the gripper head.

Abstract: A system and method for providing weed extraction so Industrial, Commercial and Home users (ICAHUs) can assure that unwanted weeds can be easily and effectively extracted. The system and method allows ICAHUs to work safely and efficiently and to extract weeds by using a hand-held device that can easily penetrate the ground around weeds, secure the unwanted weed, and aid the user in extracting the weed from the ground. ICAHUs can easily operate the levers of said device which operate jaws to secure to weeds. Specialized debris passages in the jaws of the device allow for debris to be passed through the jaws of the device which allow to for continued use and a greatly reduced need to clean the device during use. The method comprises a system in which unwanted weeds may be easily secured and extracted by the user without an increased risk of accidents or without unnecessary steps or procedures for cleaning.

Abstract: A post hole digger includes a pair of blades that face one another, a pair of shaft handles attached to the blades, and a pivot member that pivotally couples the shaft handles together. A pair of gripping handles are attached to, and are generally perpendicular to, the shaft handles, which provides a second gripping location for the user and enhances the ability to thrust and rotate the tool in the ground. The blades are off-set by at least ¼ inch from each other in order to improve a user's ability to rotate the post hole digger and remove soil from the hole. The blades include an angled distal edge, which has a leading edge portion, an intermediate edge portion and a trailing edge portion. The leading edge extends downwardly further than the intermediate portion, which in turn extends downwardly further than the trailing edge portion.
