Abstract: The invention being presented here automates the functions of the driver of the garbage truck. It involves a waste collection truck designed to follow routes to collect waste using a human to pick up the bins with refuse or other material comprising a truck that includes a drive-by-wire kit, a database storing the collection routes, a mechanism for detecting the position of the human which collects the waste bins and empties them on the back of the truck and a control mechanism that follows the assigned route and speeds or slows down the truck as to minimize the distance that the human will need to walk to empty the trash in the back of the waste collection truck.

Abstract: A patient turning device attaches to side rails of a bed on one end in at least two spaced apart locations. Straps of the device are then placed under a patient and/or patient is placed on top of such straps. Between two of the straps are connecting straps extending perpendicular thereto, such as where the first straps are horizontal and the connecting straps are vertical. Connected to some of the vertical and/or horizontal straps are removable windows which are material which fills in at least some of the area between the first straps, connects to at least some of the connecting straps, and are removably and replacably connected to cover (fill in) some of this area between the straps. This allows for access to a patient's back after rotating the patient, in embodiments of the disclosed technology.

Abstract: A foldable fabric lawn and indoor/outdoor caddy that opens with a flexible spring wire loaded frame when placed on the ground. Debris/material can be swept/raked into the invention via its flexible 27? rubber sweeping edge or by other means (shovel, hands, drop-cloth). The invention can then be closed together with its two handles and locked together for transport by the user. A rear fabric handle aides in the dumping/disposal of the aforementioned debris. The invention can then be placed on the ground ready for its next use. The invention can be used for clean-up, yard/garden work, as a drop-cloth, gather trash, and construction debris.

Abstract: A handle for pulling or lifting an object includes a handle having a first section with a gripping surface, a second section spaced from the first section and side sections that each connect between the first and second sections on opposing sides of a handle central open area; a pair of lugs mounted on said second section and extending away from said central opening area spaced inwardly of said side sections, wherein each lug has a lug free end and a lug base joined to the second section; each lug having an open ended transverse opening that includes a cylindrical section and a groove extending radially away from the cylindrical section; and a removable locking pin that is connectable to the lugs by occupying the lug openings in a connected locking position.

Abstract: A backcarrying including a carrying portion having a top, a bottom, a front, a rear and two sides. A strap arrangement can also be included for carrying the carrying portion as a backcarrying. The strap arrangement can have a pair of carrying straps. Each carrying strap can be secured to the carrying portion at about the bottom and extend upwardly along respective sides of the carrying portion, and redirected at about the top of said respective sides to extend around to the rear of the carrying portion, and being redirected at about the top of the rear to extend downwardly for securement at about the bottom of the carrying portion at the rear. The strap arrangement can redirect forces to support a load in the carrying portion from the sides of the carrying portion.

Abstract: A fire-resistant rescue blanket sized to underlay and wrap around a victim for protecting the victim from fire-related injuries. The fire-resistant rescue blanket includes layers of a flame-resistant material for protecting against fire injuries, a heat-reflective fabric for protecting against environmental heat conditions, and a protective fabric for protecting against fallen debris. The heat-reflective fabric is arranged along an inner surface of the flame-resistant material and contacts the victim when the victim is wrapped in the fire-resistant rescue blanket. The protective fabric is arranged on the opposing outer surface covering at least underneath the area where the victim is laying to protect the wrapped victim against debris, such as during a dragging operation. The fire-resistant rescue blanket includes a plurality of loop handles for allowing rescue personnel to carry the victim if necessary.

Abstract: A water bottle strap carrier that includes a longitudinal strap, an upper latitudinal strap, and a lower latitudinal strap allows the users to easily grip and pickup a five gallon water bottle. The longitudinal strap restricts the vertical movement of the water bottle while the upper and lower latitudinal straps restricts the horizontal movement of the water bottle. A first and a second handle of the longitudinal strap are positioned above the water bottle providing griping areas for the users, and the rest of the water bottle strap carrier is positioned below the first and second handle as a harness around the water bottle.

Abstract: A mat for gathering and hauling materials is herein disclosed. The mat has handles on either end for a user to easily grab and pull or carry. Additionally, the edges of the mat may be raised by securing dowels in the corners of the mat and raising the dowels perpendicular to the ground, as by pulling the dowel upward into a standing position.

Abstract: A device for removing a person in a life-threatening situation comprises an elongate, soft, flexible body (1) provided with a central zone (2) that is thicker than two tapered ends (3). A method for removing a person in a life-threatening situation involves passing the central zone (2) around an accident victim's neck, crossing the tapered ends (3) over the nape of the neck and arranging the tapered ends under the armpits, from front to back, so that the tapered ends (3) project behind the accident victim and a rescuer can pull thereon in order to move the accident victim while the latter's neck is immobilized.

Abstract: A device includes first straps configured to be secured around a container in a first direction, second straps configured to be secured around the container in a second direction, and third straps configured to be placed partially around the container in a third direction. The device also includes first handles coupled to the third straps, where the first handles are configured to be raised above the container during lifting of the container. The device further includes second handles coupled to one of the first straps, where the second handles are configured to remain secured to the first straps during lifting of the container. The device may also include multiple grommets configured to receive multiple connectors for securing the second straps to a body of the container and to a lid of the container. Lengths of at least the first and second straps may be adjustable.

Abstract: The invention includes an integral part which comprises a central base (13) which is the starting point for a series of concentric sections (4) all of which are arranged in a single circumferential direction, and end in short end portions (6-6?) which connect to two handle structures (7) which comprise a hooking means in order to stabilise the position for use of the integral part in which is defined a shell space which houses the fruit, such as a watermelon (1), the surface of which closely matches the various elements of the integral part. Thus, in the operative position for use, the device according to the invention has a basket-type structure which closely matches the outer surface of the fruit.

Abstract: A crib mattress caddy includes at least two top mounting straps and at least two bottom mounting straps. The caddy also includes front and back brackets each including an inner surface for interfacing with a mattress. A primary tilting strap and a primary lifting strap are also included. The inner surfaces of the front and back brackets interface with a mattress. The top and bottom mounting straps are both attached to the front and back brackets. The primary tilting strap is attached to the front bracket. The primary lifting strap is attached to the back bracket.

Abstract: A loading device using multiple handles with straps or loops dispensable sequentially to at least one but preferably two loading arms is shown for loading and closing bags with handles. While one loading arm may be used, two or more loading arms are preferable and these arms rotating about a stand above a loading and unloading area is preferable. A support which moves with the loading arms to support the bags as they sit on the loading arm. The multiple arms may be dispensed as a plurality of sequential straps and handles that are connected together so they can be fed steadily onto the loading arms on either side as they are used. The device is specifically designed to be used in conjunction with a bag loader so that the user may load the bags and then put them over the straps on one or more rack arms and then close and lift the bags utilizing the handle running through either a loop formed by the straps or an opening provided in a strap for that purpose.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to lift a carrier housing an object onto a secondary unit. The carrier is connected to the secondary unit, configured to rotate about an axis. A tether is provided with at least two branches on one end, and a single branch on a second end. The two branches are secured to the carrier in a spaced relationship, such that a pull of the single branch rotates the carrier about the axis and places the carrier on the base unit.

Abstract: The present invention is a mattress carrier comprising a generally rectangular shaped sling having spaced apart front and back opposed panels, spaced apart end panels, and a bottom end forming an interior cavity having a closed bottom and sides with an open upper portion for receiving a mattress to be transported. A stabilizing strap having a first portion securely attached to the back panel and a second portion securely attached to front panel. A pair of primary handles is fixed to the upper portions of the spaced apart side panels for lifting and carrying the mattress carrier.

Abstract: A high strength disposable debris bundling device including a sheet-like main body having a plurality of drawstrings running generally parallel and in spaced relation through separate channels associated with the wrap. The drawstrings preferably comprise elongate flexible thin rope or cord-like structures that run through hem channels formed in the wrap and function to compact and secure the debris in bundle with the wrap disposed in surrounding relation therewith. Providing at least 4 drawstrings allows the wrap to be pulled tightly around the debris and secured in contoured surrounding relation therewith. The wrap preferably has a length of approximately 4.0 feet so as to conform to modern trash removal standards and regulations. Handles are provided to assist in handling the wrapped debris bundle.

Abstract: A fallen game animal can be dragged with a rig having a right and a left tether, both secured to the animal. The right and the left tether run alongside each other away from the fallen game animal in a direction of travel. Two or more persons, flanked by the right and the left tether, are positioned in a single file facing away from the fallen game animal. The persons use their right hands and their left hands to grip the handholds on the right tether and the left tether, respectively. Walking in single file in the direction of travel, the two persons pull the pair of tethers to drag the fallen animal. The rig can be extended to accommodate additional persons.

A plurality of handles are coupled to the bearing area. The midline extends between the opposite sides. Abstract: A manual lifting apparatus for providing adjustable handles that allow a person to more effectively, efficiently, and safely lift objects. The present invention provides a webbing attached to two ergonomic handles that assists a user in lifting objects. The handles are adjustable to allow a user to adjust the height from which the user must lift the object thus allowing the user to effectively lift an object from the power zone to more effectively and safely lift objects.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transporting a turkey tail to a hunting site are provided by the present invention. The apparatus is formed of an outer camouflaged base fabric sewn at its edges to an inner fabric. When folded along a diameter, the apparatus is semi-circular in shape. Hook and loop straps along the base fabric secure the apparatus and two handles attached to the base fabric facilitate transport. Reinforcing members between the fabrics protects the turkey tail from damage during transport.

Abstract: An easy to use notebook computer support system which will fit virtually any notebook or laptop computer. It has comfortable shoulder pads and allows access to all ports (front, back and side). In particular, it allows access data ports, power ports as well as disk drives. Significantly, the system according to the invention comprises only straps and little strap hardware so that it can fold up and fit into any type of laptop carrying case. Unlike other supports, the present invention does not block the ventilation fan(s) on the bottom of the computer.

Abstract: In one aspect the present invention relates to a load carrying apparatus including, two adjacent support members, said support members having respective first and second end portions and connected, in a spaced apart configuration, at a middle part by a cross member, the cross member being positionable under an object to be carried such that the end portions extend outwardly from under opposing sides of the object, wherein the first and second end portions including limb engaging bands for engagement with an arm or hand of a user. In one embodiment the apparatus includes locating means that act to both secure the limb engaging bands in place for easy grasping by the user, but to also protect the object during transport. In this way the apparatus can be secured to object and left in place during transport of the object in, for instance, a removalist truck.

As noted above, it has a “sling type” design with a pocket positioned centrally on the “sling” in such a manner that when the pocket is filled with a product, i.e., a cake, pie, pizza or fast food container of food, the lengths of the two opposite sides of the sling are equal and serve to engage the opposite ends of the pocket and securely hold the container therein. Each end of the sling is provided with a finger cut-out which, when placed in close proximity with each other, serve as carrying handles, thus allowing a product that has been placed within the pocket, to be carried in an up-right position.

Abstract: A mattress cover envelops a mattress in order to protect the mattress during moving and storage and has a body member that has a pair of faces joined by left and right side portions and a bottom portion forming an interior space with closed bottom, closed sides, and an open top. A flap extends upwardly from one of the faces and is releasably attachable to the other face in order to provide closure to the cover once a mattress is held therein. Side flaps extend from each side portion to provide added protection to the mattress. A strap extends along the bottom and up a section of each side portion. Loops on the ends of the strap provide carrying handles for the movers.

Abstract: A strap includes an adjusting buckle near each end and a handle on each end. The length of the strap is adjusted using the buckles so a heavy load can be handled by a worker in a manner that permits the worker to safely carry the load in a variety of situations.

The lifting force positions the rope under the bag,thereby providing the lifter a substantial and convienient method of gripping the bag.

Abstract: Lawn debris such as leaves and grass clippings are carried in a rectangular sheet of material. The sheet has a pocket along two of its opposite sides. Each pocket is sealed at each end. Inside each pocket is a rigid pole made of two sections fitting together end-to-end. Each pole has a length equal to about 80 to 100 percent of the length of the sheet.

Abstract: An embodiment of an object lifting device includes compression straps to which gathering loops and handles are secured. In use, the straps and gathering loops encircle an object to be lifted. A pulling force applied to the handles causes the gathering loops to draw the ends of the straps toward each other, which results in the straps bearing upon the object to be lifted. While the object is held suspended, the weight of the object helps maintain the pulling pressure on the gathering loops and the consequent girthing action by the straps. The object is thus firmly secured by the device allowing it to be safely and easily lifted and transported.

Abstract: A carrier for a scuba tank or other cylindrical bottle comprises two cylindrical handles connected by a looped rope, the rope passing slidably through one of the handles. The scuba tank is supported by the ropes and carried by one handle looped through the rope. The handles may also be used to chock the tank against rolling in a vehicle, by placing the tank next to one handle and sliding the other handle up against the tank.

Abstract: A device for collecting and gathering loose material such as grain, rocks, leaves, grass clippings, and the like. The device includes a substantially flat sheet with handles associated with opposite edges of the sheet. The sheet may be of various shapes. The device also includes one or more obstructing members that extend outward from a top surface of the sheet. The handles and the obstructing members are sized and shaped such that, when the sheet is rolled in a manner circumscribing the obstructing members, the obstructing members cooperate to obstruct or block one end of a container formed by the sheet and the handles are in close proximity to each other to enable a person to grasp the handles with a single hand. A user may gather material onto the sheet in a planar configuration and then roll the sheet to form a temporary container with the material kept inside by the sheet and the obstructing members.
