Abstract: A mattress moving arrangement includes a plurality of legs configured in "A" shaped orientation formed with an orthogonal extending handle relative to the intersection defined by the aforenoted legs. The lowermost portion of the legs include "L" shaped members for receiving a mattress therewithin. Modifications of the invention include castor wheels revolvably mounted and extending downwardly from the "L" shaped legs, and additionally may include strap members joined together at a ring portion originating from each of the "L" shaped members for surrounding relationship relative to a mattress cradled within the invention, and wherein the ring is positionable about the upper handle for securement of the mattress within the device. Further, a second handle may be pivotally mounted relative to a cross brace member directed between the legs.

Abstract: A portable torch including: a gas tank containing therein a combustible gas and another gas tank containing therein a combustion supporting gas; a plurality of pressure regulating mechanisms, in which the primary pressure sides are connected to said gas tanks through plug opening mechanisms, respectively; and a torch portion is connected to the secondary pressure sides of the pressure regulating mechanisms through flexible gas feeding tubes, respectively, provided at the forward end thereof with a jet and having no gas flow rate regulating function. The pressure regulating mechanisms regulate the secondary pressure and gas flow rate from the jet through the secondary pressure. Check valves for blocking the flow of gas from the torch portion to the pressure regulating mechanisms is interposed between the respective pressure regulating mechanisms and the torch portion, to thereby prevent backfire of the flame of the jet.

Abstract: A lifting device is provided for lifting and inverting home-delivered bottled water containers. The device comprises a semi-cylindrical frame and two handles. The handles are disposed on opposite sides of the frame and extend outwardly from the frame such that the longitudinal axes of the handles are substantially coincident with a straight line which, when the device is in use, extends through the center of gravity of the bottle.

Abstract: A tank mount and carrier comprises a holder in the form of a cradle for receiving the tank and having outward extending legs for stable support of the tank, a band at each end of the crable extends around the tank to attach it to the mount, with a pair of flexible straps extending along each side and for coming together above the tank for attachment and for forming a handle for carrying the tank.

Abstract: A handle for attachment to a carton to facilitate carrying the carton. The elongated handle has the upper end of the leg portion of each of two L-shaped members connected to the same end of the handle so each foot portion of the members projects parallel to the handle. The tip of each of the feet is sharpened to facilitate puncturing the carton. The members are pivotally connected to the handle to allow the members to be collapsed. The sharpened tip of each foot portion tapers downwardly and rearwardly from the end to meet the lower portion of the foot portion at a rocker area about which the foot portion can rock to lower the junction of the foot and leg portions of each member toward the carton after the carton surface has been punctured. This allows the foot portions to run between the surfaces of corrugated cardboard.

Abstract: A handle assembly is provided for a generally cylindrical compressed air tank having a longitudinal axis. The assembly includes a substantially annular mounting piece having an outer perimeter and an opening formed therein for receiving an axial section of the air tank. The mounting piece is releasably fastened to the received section of the air tank, and a handle that is disposed entirely within the outer perimeter of the annular portion is attached to the mounting piece to facilitate manipulation of the tank.

Abstract: A rack for carrying and displaying fishing equipment, such as fishing rods. The rack comprises at least two pivotably interconnected frame sections adapted for holding fishing rods, each having opposite sides and opposite ends. The frame sections are pivoted adjacent one of their ends, constituting their inner ends, for pivotal movement on an axis extending in side-to-side direction with respect to the frame sections between a carrying configuration for carrying the fishing rods wherein the frame sections are positioned in different planes and the outer ends of the frame sections are spaced apart, and a display configuration for displaying the fishing rods on a wall wherein the frame sections are generally coplanar and the rack is adapted to be removably mounted on the wall. A handle is provided adjacent the inner ends of the frame sections for carrying the rack, and a mechanism is provided for locking the frame sections in the carrying configuration.

Abstract: Apparatus for storing and transporting cassettes comprising a container formed of side panels and a rear panel coupled to form a box-like structure. The container also includes a plurality of spaced and parallel separation panels forming slots for individual cassettes to be inserted, stored and removed. The apparatus also includes a bracket formed as an inverted J-shaped member having a short downwardly extending part positionable between an internal door panel and its associated glass and a long downwardly extending part. A tongue is also provided on the container and pockets on the long part of the bracket to separably couple the container to the bracket. The separation panels may be oriented either generally horizontally or vertically.

Abstract: A device for carrying a pair of boots such as ski boots in which a rigid frame is connected to an elongated rod-like carrying member such that the carrying member divides the frame member into two receiving pockets that in turn receive and retain the forward ends of the boots. The carrying member extends upwardly between the boots and terminates in a handle for carrying the resultant package. The upper ends of the boots are restrained by an elastic member which is connected at one end to the carrying member and is adapted to at least partially engage upper outer portions of the boots to retain them in a stable position.

Abstract: A tank mount and carrier comprises a holder in the form of a cradle for receiving the tank and having outward extending legs for stable support of the tank, a band at each end of the cradle extends around the tank to attach it to the mount, with a pair of flexible straps extending along each side and for coming together above the tank for attachment and for forming a handle for carrying the tank.

Abstract: A beehive lifting device (10) lifts beehives (106) by engaging handholds (124). As the beehive (106) is lifted by the lifting device (10), the relationship between the load lifting point (51) and the center of gravity (110) of the beehive (106) causes the beehive lifting device (10) to tilt backward, and causes the beehive (106) to tilt backward toward, or against the folding frame (12) of the beehive lifting device (10). The beehive lifting device (10) is foldable either into a flat package that is disposed parallel to a fourth plane (94) or into a compact bundle that is disposed substantially around an axis (98).

Abstract: A hand held sheet carrier for use with plywood and wallboard sheets has a pair of rigid plate components that are pivotally interconnected. One plate component has an upright working position, a foot portion on which a sheet being carried is supported and a channel for receiving the lower edge of a sheet being carried on the carrier. The second plate component is pivotally moveable between a retracted position and an extended position and has a handle. It also has a foot provider which is offset from the foot portion of the one plate component when the second plate component is in the retracted position and which serves with the foot portion to retain the one plate component in its upright position on a supporting surface for the carrier. The arrangement facilitates the loading of the carrier with a sheet to be carried by the carrier. Provision is also made for a locking device for locking the plate components in the retracted position.

Abstract: A cooling frame includes a holding member in which a standard pie plate and/or a cake cooling plate may be nested. A top handle portion is adapted to be clamped to a clothes line. A hinge with hinge pin orthogonal to the clothes line connects the handle portion with the holding member portion of the frame so that the hot baked goods is suspended horizontally, and being hot and subject to plastic flow does not run. A netting or other barrier to birds and insects may be included for pulling down over the baked goods.

Abstract: A molded plastic and metal case is provided which is designed to be stackable with other cases of the same construction to provide a sturdy display of the products contained therein and which is also nestable with other like cases to provide compact storage of empty cases. The display case is formed primarily of molded plastic and includes two upstanding metal frames on either side which form handles for carrying the case. Along the inside bottom of the case is a metal ring which is welded to the upstanding metal frames. The upper portion of each handle forms a stacking ledge which is received within a channel positioned adjacent and parallel to the side edges along the underside of each case, thus allowing the cases to be securely stacked. Adjacent each channel is a parallel slot which extends through the underside of each case and is used for nesting empty cases. The slot is designed to receive the frames of the next two lower cases thereby permitting a nesting ratio of 3:1 or greater.

Abstract: An article carrier especially useful for supporting and carrying paper grocery bags includes a rigid, substantially planar upright member and a pair of rigid, substantially planar support members. The support members are hinged to a bottom end of the upright member and are independently movable between raised and lowered positions. When both of the support members are in the lowered position, a contacting edge surface defined by one of the support members contacts a mating contacting edge surface defined by the other support member and a contacting edge surface defined by the bottom of the upright member contacts both of the support members. The mutual contact between the support member contacting surfaces the contact between the support members and the upright member contacting surface retains the support members perpendicular to the upright member under load without need for additional linkages between the upright member and the support members.

Abstract: A firewood carrier having a bottom with opposed sides and a pair of handles extending up from the sides and over the bottom. The bottom has a flexible panel so its sides can move toward each other. The handles are resilient. When carrying a load of wood piled in a narrow, high pile on the panel, the panel sags, drawing the handles tight against the pile of wood so as to securely hold it while transporting it.

Abstract: A hollow cylindrical-shaped cover member having a rounded end for enclosing the valve end of a tank containing compressed gases. The interior end portion is cut-away to house the valve assembly. The interior surface is ribbed and the sidewall is slotted to allow contraction thereof for frictional engagement with the tank. A locking device is used for contracting the sidewall and the cover member includes a handle and tote means for carrying the tank. A portable boot with wheels for engagement with the tank bottom is also provided.

Abstract: A cabinet for the storage and carrying of a plurality of phonograph record albums in non-warping disposition is comprised of a box-like structure having top, bottom, rear and side panels and having a pivoted, fold-away carrying handle and open front extremity. The carrying handle is positioned in the top panel such that the center of gravity of the cabinet is rearward of the handle. The combined effect of the position of the handle and its pivoted nature causes the open front extremity of the cabinet to be angled upwardly when the cabinet is carried by the handle. Several such cabinets may be stacked in stabilized configuration because of the fold-away characteristic of the handle, and interengaging depressions and projections in the upper and lower panels.

Abstract: A food storage and preparation device including a container assembly and a grid assembly. The grid assembly includes a tray and handle arrangement which is pivotable between a first position wherein the tray is adjacent the base of the container and a second position wherein the tray is positioned above the base forming a dual level arrangement with space for foodstuffs below and above the tray. The device further includes a detent arrangement for maintaining the handles in the first and second positions.

Abstract: Disclosed is a lifting tool for applying vertical forces to loads. A body carries a catch device for engaging such a load, and therebelow a support mechanism for receiving the load and limiting rotational movement of the load about the point of engagement with the catch mechanism. A handle is provided above the load whereby vertical forces may be applied. The handle and the support mechanism are collapsible relative to the body for storage purposes, for example.

Abstract: The present invention provides a compact, multi-purpose log handling tool including a log handling hook with an integrally extending shank having an opening defined in its upper end. A loop shaped handle is received through the opening in the shank for mounting the hook to the handle. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the opening in the shank is generally flat-sided (rectangular, square or oval), and the handle has at least two sections of different cross-sectional area. The shank, and thus also the hook, is slideable between the two sections. The first handle section has a generally circular cross-sectional area and is of smaller dimension than the opening in the shank, and the second handle section has a cross-sectional area and dimension that identically compliments the size and shape of the opening in the shank. When the shank is slid into engagement over the first section of the handle, the hook is pivotal relative to the handle.

Abstract: A device for carrying wooden logs and the like includes two wire frames for containing the logs; a handle for lifting the wire frames; and flanges, connected to the handle, for moving one wire frame relative to the other wire frame. A method of carrying the logs comprises the steps of transporting the device, including the two wire frames and the handle, near to the logs to be carried; moving one wire frame relative to the other so that any one of a number of desired volumes of space is provided therebetween; placing the logs in the one desired volume of space defined between the two wire frames so that the logs are contained therein; lifting by the handle the two wire frames containing the logs; and carrying by the handle the two wire frames containing the logs therein to a desired location.

Abstract: In the expanded ski and pole carrying operative array of the member parts of the ski and pole carrier, the position of skis and poles held by the carrier are positively managed by the operator because the skis and poles are firmly and positively positioned by the combination therewith of rigid connected ski-holding and orienting members and resilient clamping members. The rigid orienting members are sized and shaped and pivotally movable and reconnectable to be formed in a compact nested array wherein the larger members enclose the smaller members to protect the thin-edged members thereof and form a stable compact pocket-sized structure free of projecting sharp edges, which compact array is quickly and surely formed into the expanded ski and ski-pole carrying array of parts.

Abstract: A support device for a plurality of garment hangers is disclosed and an operating handle member therefor. The support device includes a hook portion by which it can be hung from a standard traverse member in a shipping box and a bead formation by which the device can be lifted on engagement of the operating handle member with the bead formation. The device is particularly easily extruded from PVC, polycarbonate or polypropylene materials.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a combination storage and carrying device for holding and transporting a plurality of items, such as stacked firewood, wherein the device includes a support assembly and a pair of handles pivotally attached thereto. The support assembly includes a base member and a plurality of attached side wall members for retaining items positioned on the base member. Each of the handles pivots between fully extended and fully retracted positions as needed, and the handles include end portions which elevate the support assembly above a support surface.

Abstract: The bread carrier comprises a plastic rectangular tray and a pair of generally U-shaped metal carrying bails pivotally connected across opposite ends of the tray. To accommodate a load, the pivotal connection between the bail and the tray is spaced inwardly from the ends of the tray. The bails have L-shaped leg members, the heel of which protrudes above the side and end walls of the tray when the bails are folded down. Slot means are provided in the floor of the tray to receive the protruding heels of a second carrier stacked therebelow in a folded position.

Abstract: A carrier, for holding the hook portion of one or more conventional garment hangers, includes a saddle with a bearing surface to receive the hanger hooks, one or more locking elements carried by the saddle member and movable to one position to overlie the bearing surface to retain hanger hooks therein and to another position in which hooks are freely engageable and removable, and a handle coupled to the saddle.
