Eye- Or U-bolt Attachment Patents (Class 294/215)
  • Publication number: 20120223539
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for attaching, lifting, and/or lashing goods, comprising a load ring (1), the ring lug (2) of which has two retaining pins (7a, 7b) for connecting to fixing frames (3a, 3b), which in turn can be fastened to a good (4). The invention further relates to a kit for a device having a load ring (1) and a method for producing the device. In order to ensure that the retaining pins (7a, 7b) are inserted far enough in the good (4) when the fixing frames (3a, 3b) are attached to the good (4), according to the invention the device comprises at least one axial securing element (X), by means of which one of the retaining pins (7a, 7b) is secured in a predetermined axial working position (P) in one of the retaining receptacles (8a, 8b).

  • Patent number: 8230931
Abstract: A lifting device configured to lift a bonnet of a blowout preventer. The lifting device includes two or more lifting pins, each lifting pin including, a body having an elongated shape and configured to enter through a hole in the bonnet; a shoulder connected to the body and having an external diameter larger than an external diameter of the body; and two or more threaded regions at different locations on the body and configured to receive threaded screws, each threaded region being formed in the body such that a coordinate of the threaded region in a given inertial system is substantially identical to a coordinate of a center of gravity of a corresponding bonnet in the same given inertial system when the lifting pin is inserted into a hole of the corresponding bonnet.

  • Patent number: 8201867
Abstract: An omni-positional hoist ring assembly including a bushing element that includes a sleeve with an axial length, a proximal end and a distal end. A load bearing flange is radially disposed about the proximal end of the sleeve. The sleeve has an internal thread extending at least part way of the axial length of the sleeve. A mounting screw element has a major axis, a head, and a shank disposed generally co-axially around the major axis. The shank includes a threaded shank portion and a bearing portion. The bearing portion is a generally cylindrical axially extending portion of the shank that has a diameter approximately equal to the minor diameter of the thread in the threaded shank portion. A thrust washer element is provided between the head and the distal end of the sleeve. A body element receives the in-turned opposed ends of the legs of a lifting loop element in sockets. The lifting loop is free to pivot.

Abstract: A shackle bow comprises a generally U-shaped body having a first end, a second end and aligned openings defined in the first and second ends. The body has a load bearing portion positioned between the first and second ends. The load bearing portion has a cross section comprising a bearing surface that curves through more than 180 degrees and an intersecting channel-shaped supporting surface. The channel-shaped supporting surface comprises opposing channel side portions extending from opposite sides of a channel base surface and a series of spaced apart ribs connecting the opposing channel side portions to each other.

Abstract: A hoist ring assembly includes an anchor subassembly with bushing, retainer and threaded fastener elements, and a loop subassembly with a lifting loop and pair of pin elements. The assembly is adapted such that the lifting loop is rotatable through a 360-degree angle about a major axis, and pivotable through at least 180-degree angle about a minor axis. The assembly can be rapidly assembled or disassembled, and incorporates one or more components which may be substantially fabricated by way of forging operation, particularly the retainer member.

  • Publication number: 20110316297
Abstract: A sling element and a combination for coupling sling gear, to a goods item to be transported, wherein the sling element has a fastening section, into which an oblong-shaped opening is formed which leads from the upper side of the fastening section to a contact area formed on the underside of the fastening section. The combination enables the sling element to be fastened in a durably secure way even with adverse loads. This is achieved by a wedge area aligned in the longitudinal direction of the opening of the fastening section being formed on the fastening section, which wedge area runs in a plane which intersects the longitudinal axis of the opening at an acute angle and is designed as a support for a fastening means which is provided to brace the sling element on the goods item to be transported.

Abstract: The detachable ears rope thimble comprised of thimble body, detachable ears and having the optional features of bale, main load pin sub assembly, and a restraning load sub assembly. The inventive thimble provides very high load capacity ability for wire or synthetic ropes. Furthermore the thimble assembly enables eye splicing on new ropes yet allows for the thimble addition to previously formed eyes without resplicing the eyes. The invention provides a thimble that fully contains even the oversize found in fresh synthetic ropes protecting them within an array of detachable ears from abrasion. The outer body has smooth form with embedded detachable ears and rounded edges preventing synthetic fiber damage.
