Resilient Patents (Class 294/33)
  • Patent number: 5259653
Abstract: A carrier handle unit mountable on a top folded carton packing, the unit comprising a handle portion (4) connected to a vertical base plate portion (2) having at its top end a rigid upper portion (6) for engaging the top folding of the packing and at its lower end forwardly projecting, resiliently outwardly bendable plate arm members (8), which at their outer ends, are shaped with short inwardly and towards each other projecting end portions (10) that are able to grip over the outside of the packing opposite packings side engaged by the base plate portion. The carrier handle unit can be made in one piece, it provides for a stable connection between the handle portion and the packing, and it is easy to mount and dismount by a crosswise displacement or pivoting because the plate arm members need be spread only slightly for movement thereof into or away from their engagement with the said outside of the packing.

  • Patent number: 5183169
Abstract: A reusable handle for use with bottles is disclosed. The handle has an upwardly diverging bonnet shaped jacket which encircles and holds a portion of the bottle body. An arm, with a gripping portion, extends from the jacket and terminates in a bottle neck ring which holds the bottle neck. The bottle neck ring has a neck locking tab and an opposing straight edge which firmly hold the bottle neck. The neck locking tab and shape of the jacket also serve to bias the gripping portion of the handle away from the bottle body. Because of the tapered jacket, the handle can be used with a bottles having varying diameters. The handle can also be made, sold and stored in a flat configuration. In the flat configuration, the handle has a planar body with an arcuate bottom edge and side edges which can be attached together for use to form the upwardly diverging bonnet shape of the jacket.

Abstract: Record grasping apparatus is shown in its preferred form as including first and second grasping and protecting members held in a spaced relation by a spacer member allowing the deflection of the grasping and protecting members together for grasping the record. In the preferred embodiment, the first grasping and protecting member includes an extension member for wedging beneath the record and allowing the insertion of the first grasping and protecting member beneath the record. The second grasping and protecting member, in the preferred embodiment, includes a partially removed and upturned edge to prevent the edge from engaging the record at a single point. The spacer member is shown, in its preferred form, as slide interconnect members formed on the first and second grasping and protecting members.

  • Patent number: 4012068
Abstract: A tong for picking up litter from urinals, formed by a pair of spaced planar jaws extending in parallel planes from an integral junction at one end towards the opposite end. The free ends of the jaws may be beveled inwardly to provide relatively sharp edges with substantially rectangular corners at the sides of the jaws, to grasp effectively all types of litter when the edges are moved towards each other by manually pressing the jaws together.

  • Patent number: 4009899
Abstract: Wafer tongs for grasping semiconductor wafers and the like are provided with a pair of jaws and at least one wafer-contacting stop limiting the reach of the jaws onto the surface of a wafer from the wafer edge. The stops may take the form of jaw guides which extend from one jaw towards the other to maintain alignment of the jaws. In one embodiment, the guides are carried by a clip movably attached to one jaw for forward or rearward movement thereon to adjust the reach of the jaws onto a wafer. The forward ends of the jaws may be resilient so as to engage and flatten against surfaces of the wafer to improve the grip of the jaws and reduce wafer breakage.

  • Patent number: 3981527
Abstract: A tweezers for use in the movement of semi-conductor wafers can be constructed utilizing upper and lower arms connected to one another in an established manner so that the free or holding ends on such arms may be moved towards one another. In a tweezers as disclosed the holding end of the lower arm includes a flat plate and a shoulder connected to the plate to the remainder of the lower arm and the holding end on the upper arm includes a plurality of separate resilient fingers extending from a support securing these fingers to the remainder of the upper arm. When the plate is inserted beneath an object such as a semi-conductor wafer by appropriate manipulation of the arms the fingers can be brought against such an object so as to hold it against the plate. The resilient fingers are not apt to break such an object as it is held on the plate and will accommodate any variation in the height of such an object.

Abstract: A charcoal fire starter and cooker incorporating an open ended tubular body which is divided by a perforate grate into a charcoal chamber and a combustion chamber; therebeing vents in the body for developing a flue effect to concentrate maximum heat intensity in the vicinity of the charcoal chamber. A pair of closures are telescopically received over opposite end portions of the tubular body, each closure incorporating a flat cooking surface and a skirt formed with vents adapted for adjustable registration with the tubular body vents for developing a cooker in operation. Detachable handles are provided for ready insertion within and removal from the body and closures with the body handles being adapted for supporting an auxiliary grill in usage.

  • Patent number: 3957298
Abstract: Tongs particularly adapted for removal of toasts, English muffins, and the like from electric toasters and having a pair of fingers made of flexible insulating material, such as thin laminar wood similar to a conventional tongue depressor, each secured adjacent to an end thereof to a spacer and mounting member, such as a wooden dowel. One of the fingers being fixedly secured as by a brad and glue to one side of the spacer and mounting member, and the other finger being tightly rotatably mounted on the opposite side of the spacer and mounting member.
