Patent number: 7510225Abstract: For conserving bedding material such as wood shavings when cleaning livestock environments such as horse stalls, a lightweight manure fork, specially configured with an open flat working region with relatively short tines, is combined with a highly efficient fan-type blower unit attached to the handle. Delivering air-flow onto the tined working region in short blasts under finger control, the worker simply manipulates the fork in the normal manner to remove the manure; the loose bedding material is blown off the fork and back onto surrounding regions of the stall, thus saving a substantial portion of the usual replenishment costs. The invention thus accomplishes substantial overall cost savings and environmental conservation without requiring special supervision, unusual diligence, effort or skill on the part of the worker.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2007Date of Patent: March 31, 2009Inventors: Rosemarie Stinnett, Lee Stein

Patent number: 7320490Abstract: An impact handle for a shovel and other tools to assist the user or laborer in digging and/or moving material such as dirt or snow, or other compacted materials. An impact handle with a shovel attachment would have similar physical features as generic shovels on the market today. However, the impact handle includes an impact generator within the handle. As a user or operator applies his/her foot-pressure on the foot actuator located at the top of the scoop or blade, the impact generator using electro-magnetic principles produces impulses of 1 to 10 hertz of downward blows. These impulses reduce the effort required by the operator to force the tool scoop or blade to penetrate the material being excavated. The impact handle dramatically reduces time required to complete hand excavation projects. The impact handle can also be used, but is not limited to, to reduce the time required for chiseling, scraping, prying, nail pulling and carpet-stretching.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2005Date of Patent: January 22, 2008Inventor: Ray James Yakimchuk

Olinski
-
Patent number: 6494514Abstract: For conserving bedding material such as wood shavings when cleaning livestock environments such as horse stalls, a manure fork is combined with an air blower directed into the working region of the fork. The air flow is directed to blow the loose bedding material past the fork tines and onto surrounding regions of the stall automatically, while the worker simply works with the fork in the normal manner to remove the manure. The bedding material remains in the stall, thus saving a substantial portion of the usual replenishment costs. The invention thus accomplishes substantial overall cost savings and environmental conservation without requiring special supervision or unusual diligence on the part of the worker.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2001Date of Patent: December 17, 2002Inventors: Rosemarie Stinnett, Lee Stein

Patent number: 5906060Abstract: An improved manually pushed snow shovel in which the user's natural pushing force acts to alleviate stalling friction. A version of a manually pushed snow shovel having features of this invention comprises a blade with a leading edge, a handle attached to the blade, and at least one, although two are preferred, ski runner(s) attached to the blade. The ski runner(s) are attached such that when in the shovel is in use, the leading edge of the blade is at or behind the portion of bottoms of the ski runner(s) normally in contact with the ground. This ensures that the shovel pivot point or point of downward vertical force from the snow load is forward of the leading edge relative to forward movement of the shovel. As such, the user's natural forward pushing on the handle and hence indirectly to the blade results in the leading edge moving upwards away from the ground upon encountering increased friction due to heavy snow or rough ground surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1997Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Inventor: Robert Tonry
