Swivel Locking Arm Patents (Class 294/82.22)
  • Patent number: 11092211
Abstract: A swivel connector has a female part and a male part that are connected to each other so as to swivel. The female part has a main body with an interior cavity and an open face, and a strap connector. The male part has a plug portion and a strap connector. A ring lock locks the male portion to the female portion and is formed by two side walls connected by two pivot bars, the side walls of the ring lock being rotatably connected to the female part. The male part is locked to the female part by inserting the plug portion into the interior cavity, and rotating the ring lock into a locked position where the open face is blocked by one of the pivot bars. The male part is released from the female part by rotating the ring lock until the open face is not blocked by the pivot bar.

The male part is released from the female part by rotating the ring lock against the force of the spring until the open face is not blocked by the pivot bar.

  • Publication number: 20150145267
Abstract: A clevis type slip hook or grab hook includes a safety latch which is held in position by a biased pin that may be axially extended to move the latch between a latching and unlatching position to close or open the slot in the slip hook. The latch is comprised of a closure member in the form of a plate having an elongate edge that fits in the hook slot between the tip end and shank end of the hook.

  • Patent number: 8572817
Abstract: A rigid U-shaped structure sized to be closely received on the tip end of the transfer hook. One side of the U-shape of the structure is closed. A padeye is rigidly attached to the end curved portion of the U-shape of the structure. Means for holding the U-shaped structure in position on the tip end of the hook is provided. The holding means may be threaded bores through one or both sides of the U-shaped structure that allow bolts to be threaded through the holes such that they create sufficient friction against the tip end of the transfer hook to hold the U-shaped structure in position. The holes through the U-shaped structure may be unthreaded with threaded nuts rigidly attached to the U-shaped structure such that the nuts are aligned with the holes to allow bolts to exert pressure against the tip end of the transfer hook in the same manner to hold the U-shaped structure in position on the transfer hook.

  • Patent number: 6719497
Abstract: A method of mooring a vessel to a subsea anchoring element (1) connected to the seabed, and comprising a chain section (3) which is not longer than half the water depth, and which is at or near its free end provided with a coupling member (4), is characterised by the steps of: lowering a multi-strand anchor line (9) from a vessel (8), the multi-strand anchor line (9) being at its free end attached to a connector (10), and attaching the connector (10) to the coupling member (4). The present disclosure also provides an anchor line repair or exchange method comprising the steps of: disconnecting the first multi-strand anchor line (16) from the chain section, lowering a second multi-strand anchor line (9) from a vessel (8), the second multi-strand line (9) being at its free end attached to connector (10), and attaching the connector (10) of the second multi-strand line (9) to the coupling member (4).
