Patent number: 11111112Abstract: A lifting assembly (10) having a structure (11) with three or more receptacles and a two or more connectors (1). The structure comprises one or more receptacles (12). Each receptacle comprises one or more circumferential grooves (17) in its inside surface. The connector comprises a male element (4) for insertion into a receptacle, an attachment point (2), and one or more locking elements (6) provided on the outside surface of the male element for engaging with the or each groove in the inside surface of the or each receptacle so as to rotatably mount the attachment point relative to the structure. The connectors may be rotationally positioned within the receptacles to permit different lifting configurations to be used.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2017Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Assignee: BALLTEC LIMITEDInventors: Jonathan Jackson, Marco Teixeira

Patent number: 10428850Abstract: A treatment assembly for securing a treatment member to a shaft that includes the treatment member and a female attachment member. The treatment member defines a longitudinal axis, and has a distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end includes an attachment recess defined therein. The female attachment member has a distal end, a proximal end, and a shaft recess defined in the proximal end. The female attachment member is secured in the attachment recess of the treatment member. The shaft recess is defined by an interior surface that includes a first flat surface. The interior surface includes a first detent defined therein. When the shaft is received in the shaft recess, the first flat surface is operatively engaged with a first opposing flat surface on a male attachment member and a first ball is biased into the first detent.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2019Date of Patent: October 1, 2019Assignee: THERAGUN, LLCInventors: Jason Wersland, Michael Waldron, Geert Ensing, Dennis Colonello, Benjamin Nazarian

Patent number: 8739888Abstract: A casing gripper is stabbed into a casing and energized by a top drive, gripping the casing. The casing gripper includes a load bearing mandrel that has external threads. The casing gripper also includes a nut threaded over the external threads, and a wrench having a portion of the upper end of the load bearing mandrel inserted into an opening of the wrench. The wrench is configured to prevent rotation of the nut but allow axial movement while the op drive rotates the mandrel. The casing gripper includes a grapple coupled to the nut and extending along a portion of the lower end of the load bearing mandrel. The grapple moves axially with the nut an is configured to radially expand and engage a casing member.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2011Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Assignee: Tesco CorporationInventor: Jonathan B. Patent number: 7690430Abstract: A tool for extracting well pipe casings resembles an enlarged pipe-thread tap. The tool is designed to be suspended under and driven by the traveling rotary table and hydraulic vertical drive system of a conventional drilling rig. By this means, well pipe casings are withdrawn from wells by engaging the tops of such well pipe casings, and unlike the prior art, which grapples well pipe casings at their very bottom, and at the end of a cable. Unlike withdrawing casing by a cable pull, wherein cables stretch and unstuck casings might launch like projectiles, the extractor tool manages to withdraw well pipe casing in a recoilless manner, which is more controlled, and safer.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2006Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Inventor: David G. Patent number: 7617867Abstract: An overshot tool includes a grapple, a torque sub rotationally fixed to the grapple and a deformable member in operable communication with the torque sub. The torque sub is responsive to torsional movement thereof. A method for retrieving a fish with the tool is also included.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2007Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Gerald D. Patent number: 7225878Abstract: Apparatus and methods for producing fluids from a well and for controlling the production of fluids from multiple wells, particularly from a remote location. The well is provided with a winch/cable drum having a cable wound thereon with a swabbing tool on the end of the cable. The swabbing tool is initially located in a riser that is mounted to the wellhead and lowered into the well and down through the fluids in the well under control of a programmable logic controller (PLC 95). Upon reaching a pre-determined depth, the PLC 95 stops the rotation of the winch/cable drum and then reverses the direction of rotation to retrieve the swabbing tool, thereby lifting the fluids in the well bore up out of the well. Flowline connections, with appropriate valves, are provided in the riser for routing any gas and oil that is lifted from the well into pipelines and on to storage tanks or separators as the swabbing tool is retrieved.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2002Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Inventors: James R.
