Patent number: 10392886Abstract: “SECURITY MECHANISM FOR INSTALLATION IN SOIL DRILLING TOOLS, WITH GAS/OIL LEAKAGE LOCKING SYSTEM ON RECOVERY STAGE OF INTERNAL TUBE CONTAINING TOKEN”, where a mechanism for installation on drilling equipment tooling (which uses barrel for the continuous token extraction), be developed with a cable gland assembly (1), connectors (22), (32) and valve (42). With such elements, the mechanism offers a sealing system that prevents, in the recovery step of the inner tube with the token, that there is oil or gas leakages. The mechanism also has an additional safety device (52). Thus, the tooling typically used for ore survey (simpler and cheaper) may be used in wells for gas/oil drilling, bringing remarkable benefits in the segment, both in operationally and commercial level.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2013Date of Patent: August 27, 2019Assignee: SLIM DRILLING SERVICOS DE PERFURACAO S.A.Inventors: Antonio Sergio Cavalheiro, Mario Cesar Pereira Dos Santos, Leandro Diniz Brandao Rocha, Hamilton Suss Junior, Jose Roberto Scalon Cotello, Ronaldo Soares Eisele

Patent number: 9359843Abstract: An anchoring system includes a housing having a radial opening therein, and a piston disposed within the housing which is axially movable therein. A slip is in operable communication with the piston such that movement of the piston in a first axial direction relative to the housing causes movement of the slip in a first radial direction relative to the housing to anchor the anchoring system to a structure and movement of the piston in a second axial direction allows the slip to move in a second radial direction that allows unanchoring of the anchoring system. A sleeve is configured to cause movement of the piston in the second axial direction when moved in the second axial direction relative to the housing, in response to either mechanically pulling the sleeve in the second axial direction or increasing pressure applied against the piston.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2012Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Nicholas K. Patent number: 7427091Abstract: Disclosed is an improved spear head overshot. The spear head overshot is particularly useful as part of a cable-guided fishing assembly. The spear head overshot essentially comprises one or more pivot lugs, the pivot lugs comprising jaw sections and release point sections, an actuator slide, a wave spring, a pivot mandrel, a screw attached to the pivot mandrel, and a compression spring threaded over the screw. In operation, a spear head is inserted into the spear head overshot until the spear head passes the jaw sections of the pivot lugs, at which time the spear head is locked into place. To release the spear head, the release point sections of the pivot lugs are manually forced inward. Simultaneously, the jaw sections of the pivot lugs are forced outward, thereby allowing the spear head to be removed from the spear head overshot. In a cable-guided fishing operation, this process can be repeated as often as necessary.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2005Date of Patent: September 23, 2008Assignee: National-Oilwell, DHT, L.P.Inventors: James R. Patent number: 7246398Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing an object from a drain for includes a pair of arms each having a first end, a second end, a medial portion, a first side and a second side. Each of the first sides is convexly curved. A pivot member extends between and is pivotally attached to the medial portions so that the first sides facing each other. A slide member engages each of the first sides and urges the first ends toward each other as the slide member moves toward the pivot member. An actuator is configured to selectively move the slide member toward or away from the pivot member. A connector is attached to the actuator and is configured to releasably couple the actuator to a drain snake. Rotation of the drain snake actuates the actuator to grip the object when the first ends are adjacent to the object.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2006Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Inventor: Leonardo G.
