Axle Brackets Patents (Class 295/42)
  • Patent number: 10196075
Abstract: A railway vehicle and an axle box structure thereof are provided. The axle box structure includes an axle box body and a positioning node mounting seat. The axle box body includes an upper box body and a lower box body. The upper box body and the lower box body enclose a bearing mounting chamber together. A lower end surface of the upper box body has a convex portion, and an upper end surface of the lower box body has a concave portion. A first semi-circular hole and a second semi-circular hole are respectively provided at the middle of the upper box body and the lower box body. If the convex portion and the concave portion are assembled in a sealed coupling manner, the bearing mounting chamber is formed by the first semi-circular hole and the second semi-circular hole.

  • Patent number: 9789887
Abstract: A backing ring assembly is for a railcar axle assembly including a shaft with a central axis and a bearing mounted on the shaft. An annular backing ring is disposeable upon the shaft between the bearing and a shaft enlarged section and has a central axis, an inner surface extending about the axis and defining a central bore for receiving the shaft and a retention surface facing away from the shaft enlarged section when the backing ring is disposed upon the shaft. A retainer includes an annular body, disposeable about the shaft enlarged section and having an inner surface sized to frictionally engage with the shaft enlarged section cylindrical surface, and at least one coupler connected with the annular body. The coupler(s) engage with the ring retention surface to releasably connect the retainer annular body with the backing ring to retain the ring at a fixed position on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7219938
Abstract: A backing ring that serves to back an antifriction bearing on the journal of a rail car axle includes an annular body that seats against a fillet that is located at the end of the journal and also a lip that projects over a larger dust guard diameter that is located on the axle immediately beyond the fillet. In addition, the backing ring includes a stabilizing element which cooperates with the lip and with the dust guard diameter to lessen the tendency of the annular body to work against the fillet and create a fretting wear when the journal undergoes cyclic flexures. The stabilizing element accommodates dust guard diameters of varying size. The stabilizing element may also establish a seal between the lip and the dust guard diameter.

  • Patent number: 4773691
Abstract: A crane wheel is adjustably mounted in the web structure of a crane carriage, head carrier, or the like by a bearing holders on each side of the wheel. The bearing holders are individually, pivotably fixed to the web structure by aligned clamping sleeves above axle. Two pendulum-type bearings in the necks of the holders journal the wheel axle. Adjusting screws mounted on the carriage abut cam stops on the bearing holders to adjustably fix the orientation of the wheel axles, including the plane of rotation of the wheel.
