Outer Axle Or Housing Positioned About Axle By Roller Or Ball Bearing Patents (Class 295/42.1)
  • Patent number: 11241909
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wheel hub assembly for a vehicle which is suitable for being driven by a drive shaft. The wheel hub assembly includes a wheel engaging hub and a shaft engaging hub including internal splines configured for engagement with complementary external splines on the drive shaft. The shaft engaging hub is engageable with the wheel engaging hub by at least one or more axially extending threaded engaging formations in which the wheel hub assembly further includes an engaging arrangement configured for further facilitating engagement of the wheel engaging hub with the shaft engaging hub. The engaging arrangement includes a plurality of engaging formations extending in a radial direction between the wheel engaging hub and the shaft engaging hub, the plurality of engaging formations are engageable in use with complementary engaging formations to facilitate transfer of torque between the wheel engaging hub and the shaft engaging hub.

  • Patent number: 9458886
Abstract: A first rolling-element guided cage segment of a tapered roller bearing has first and second circumferential ends and first and second mutually opposing circumferential bridges extending between the circumferential ends and first and second mutually opposing connecting bridges connecting the first and second circumferential bridges. Inner pocket sides of the circumferential bridges and the connecting bridges form a pocket for receiving a rolling element. A first positioning aid is located at the first circumferential end and a second positioning aid is located at the second circumferential end, the positioning aids being configured such that a correct-position arrangement of adjacent cage segments is recognizable from the interaction of the first positioning aid and the second positioning aid.

Abstract: An axle box for a railway vehicle bogie comprises a rolling bearing having an outer ring element, an inner ring element, rolling elements mounted there between, and a seal element, the inner ring element being adapted to be secured by screw bolts to an axial end of bogie axle. The axle box comprises an end cap comprising a flange with an inner face and an outer face, an annular first radial surface portion of the inner face being so defined that it is able to lean against an axial end of the inner bearing ring element of the rolling bearing. The flange comprises a central part traversed by screw bores. The flange comprises a first inner axial ridge running alongside the outer circumference of the cap, and extending axially towards the rolling bearing all around the flange, further than the first radial surface portion.
