  • Patent number: 11267431
Abstract: In a shielding state, a partition extends from an upper portion to a lower portion of a cabin in such a manner as to partition a space between a pair of opposing vehicle seats. In the case where the partition is in the shielding state during a collision of a vehicle, the partition is inflated in a vehicle longitudinal direction by gas supplied from an inflator that is actuated when a collision detection sensor detects the collision of the vehicle. That is, since the partition is inflated in the space between the pair of the vehicle seats without interfering with the vehicle seats, the partition can reliably restrain an occupant who receives a collision load and is thereby displaced in the vehicle longitudinal direction from the vehicle seat. In this way, it is possible to easily secure a private space in the cabin and to improve occupant restraint performance.

  • Patent number: 11052727
Abstract: In an instrument panel provided in a vehicle cabin front section, a face that projects into a vehicle cabin is formed with a T-shape in vehicle rear view. An air-conditioning unit of a vehicle air-conditioning device is provided at an inside of the instrument panel. In the vehicle air-conditioning device, a foot blower outlet provided on the instrument panel blows an air-conditioned airflow toward the feet of a front seat occupant, and an interior air intake provided on the instrument panel takes in air from inside the vehicle cabin to generate the air-conditioned airflow. The foot blower outlet is formed in a lower portion of a side wall at a vehicle width direction central portion of the instrument panel.

  • Patent number: 10183644
Abstract: An improved pet barrier has first and second spaced-apart vertical poles and one or more horizontally oriented fences that are affixed to the poles. At least the top ends of the poles terminate in resilient, convexly curved feet. The feet have contact surfaces that are approximately hemitoroidal in shape. Each pole may have a tube and an elongate upright extending out of the tube and may have a coarse adjustment mechanism that permits the vertical insert to extend out of the top end of the tube by one of several preselected heights. Each pole may have a fine adjustment mechanism including a lead screw and a nut that rotates on a groove formed near the end of the pole tube. A fence clamp clamps upper and lower cross bars of the fence to the clamp using a single threaded fastener, the clamping action also affixing the fence to the pole.

  • Patent number: 8834083
Abstract: Some embodiments of a system for partitioning cargo spaces in a temperature-controlled cargo container can include one or more longitudinal panel assemblies with a user-selectable height feature. In such circumstances, a user can readily adjust the overall height of each longitudinal panel assembly while the longitudinal panel assembly is in the trailer so as to accommodate the interior height of the trailer (which might vary from trailer to trailer).

  • Patent number: 8052191
Abstract: A hinged vapor wall for use in mobile living quarters having a main living area and a secondary area such as a garage. The vapor wall has a first and second section that overlap to form a barrier between the garage and the main living area. When the sections of the vapor wall are in their closed position, the main living area and the garage area are divided into separate airtight compartments. Typically, small vehicles such as motorcycles and ATVs are placed in the garage, and the fumes from their fuel may spread into the main living space in the absence of a barrier. A permanent barrier sacrifices space within the main living area. The hinged vapor wall of this invention is movable to an open position when small vehicles are not being stored in the garage, enabling the garage to be used as living space as well.

  • Patent number: 7607874
Abstract: An improved bulkhead and partition system in which at least two panels are independently attached to mounting members such that each panel can be moved independently. In a preferred embodiment, two bulkheads or panels are slidably attached to separate pairs of ceiling-mounted rails in a refrigerated trailer such that each bulkhead or panel can be independently slid toward the front of a trailer or toward the rear of a trailer to define, in cooperation with a removable center partition wall, a plurality of different cargo areas to be maintained at different temperatures. Alternatively, two bulkheads or panels may advantageously operate without a partition wall such that the panels may be placed side-by-side and fastened together to make a full-width bulkhead.

  • Patent number: 7249921
Abstract: A new and improved thermal type bulkhead assembly comprises a pair of new and improved thermal type bulkhead members which are adapted to be adjustably positioned with respect to each other in an overlapped mode in the widthwise direction whereby oppositely disposed side edge portions of the pair of bulkhead members can effectively engage the oppositely disposed interior side walls of the refrigerated cargo container, while upper sections of the bulkhead members can flexibly engage the ceiling portion of the refrigerated cargo container. In this manner, the lateral extent or width dimension x of the thermal type bulkhead assembly, as well as the vertical extent or height dimension y of the thermal type bulkhead assembly, can be adjustably varied whereby the thermal type bulkhead assembly of the present invention is effectively universal in structure so as to be capable of being utilized within different refrigerated cargo containers characterized by different internal width and height dimensions.

  • Patent number: 7214016
Abstract: Improved panels suitable for use in bulkhead and partition systems. In one embodiment of the invention, the panels are seamless, one-piece members integrally formed from a single resinous material. In other embodiments, the panels include depressions that obviate the need to fill the panels with foam or other supportive filler material. In still other embodiments, the panels have no fasteners extending through panel so the panels are substantially impervious to moisture. Other embodiments have grooves or similar mounting apparatus disposed around their peripheral edges to which edging such as supports or flexible seals may be mounted. In yet other embodiments, the grooves are arranged so as to permit worn out seals to be quickly and easily replaced without the need to remove mechanical fasteners.
