Abstract: A multi-functional cargo bed liner assembly for a cargo bed of a vehicle includes a first side wall and a second side wall disposed in a transversely spaced relationship, and an integrally formed guide track in the first and second side walls. The cargo bed liner assembly also includes an end wall extending therebetween the first and second side walls at a first end, and a floor extending therebetween the first and second side walls. The cargo bed liner assembly further includes a movable divider panel supported within the guide track by a support rod, and extending transversely therebetween the first and second side walls, wherein the divider panel includes a positioning mechanism for fixedly locating the divider panel.

Abstract: An operating mechanism for use in a vehicle having a bedroom slide out, the bedroom slide out having a platform which is movable laterally relative to a vehicle having a stationary floor. The operating mechanism laterally moves the movable room section relative to the stationary room section between a retracted position and an extended position, and has a height adjustable frame. The frame includes overlapping side members which are slidably moveable relative to each other and fastenable at two or more discrete heights.

Abstract: A trailer and hitch assembly are arranged so that the trailer may be towed closely behind a motor vehicle without articulation. A pair of frame members extends forward from the trailer for engagement into a corresponding pair of receivers that are included in a hitch extension assembly. Locking mechanisms are arranged to secure the frame members to a hitch cross member that may be included in a standard trailer hitch connected to the motor vehicle.

Abstract: A truck bed extension is provided for extending the useful length of a pickup truck bed. The truck bed extension includes a pair of spaced, longitudinally extending sidewalls interconnected by a transversely extending gate. The sidewalls are adapted to mount to the truck bed using the existing hardware on found on the truck bed walls and on the tailgate. A hinge assembly swingably mounts the gate onto the side walls for movement of the gate between a generally upright, closed position and a downward, open position, and when the gate is in its open position, it can be retracted toward the truck bed to avoid interference with cargo loading and unloading.

Abstract: The present invention provides a structure 10 for extending a bed of a pickup truck; the structure being rotatably supported on a rear portion 1B of the bed of the pickup truck having a tailgate 4 capable of bringing down in an approximate level with a rear end of the bed 1; and the structure being provided on a first upper side of the tailgate 7 to be housed in the bed when the tailgate is rotated in a forward direction of the truck; wherein fixing means 20 is provided for fixing the structure provided on a second upper side of the floor onto the bed. Hence, if the structure is off the supporting bracket 16 when the structure is housed in the bed, the fixing means of the invention can prevent the structure from separating from the body not to have a secondary influence on surroundings by the structure 10.

Abstract: An accessory mounting adapter is provided for a trailer hitch assembly that includes a receiver box. The accessory mounting adapter includes a cross member. A mounting bar is connected to the cross member and allows the adapter to be secured in the receiver box of the trailer hitch assembly. A pair of accessory receivers are connected to the cross member. At least one of the accessory receivers has a first accessory mounting section for receiving a first type of accessory mounting post and a second accessory mounting section for receiving a second type of accessory mounting post. This greatly increases the versatility of the adapter to carry various accessories.

Abstract: A modular system and method for increasing the functionality of a vehicle bed, consisting of a rectangular panel having substantially the width of a vehicle bed and mounting plates on the interior of the vehicle bed. The mounting plates are positioned so as to permit installation of a rectangular panel alternatively in a parallel and vertical orientation relative to the bed of the vehicle. Preferably, at least two rectangular panels are provided so that at least three of the following can be provided: a bed expander, storage unit, work shelf, rack system, ramp, seat, wind-deflector, and divider.

Abstract: A bed extender apparatus adapted for use with a pickup truck bed to functionally enlarge the useable cargo area within the truck bed when a tailgate is in a lowered position. The bed extender includes a center wall which is pivotably mounted to an inner surface of the tailgate, and which can be pivoted into an upright position once the tailgate is moved into a lowered position. A pair of end walls are pivotably secured to opposite ends of the center wall. Each end wall can be pivoted out to a position extending perpendicular to the center wall once the center wall is in its raised or operative position. Each of the end walls can then be secured to an associated one of the vertical walls of the pickup truck bed. A principal advantage of the bed extender is that the end walls and center wall each include a plurality of members which, when the end walls are folded against the center wall, form an extremely compact arrangement which takes up virtually no appreciable cargo space within the pickup truck bed.

Abstract: A wheelless carrier coupled to the hitch of a vehicle for carrying loads and for expanding the cargo bed. The cargo bed expander is provided with at least one gate. When catched, the gate functions as a stop to prevent the cargo from falling out of the cargo bed. And when the gate is seated, it creates a ramp between the gate's seat and the cargo bed expander. The cargo bed expander is raised to about the level of the cargo bed by at least one lift, and is dimensioned to allow clearance of the vehicle's tailgate.

Abstract: A truck bed extender with one or more extendable ramps. The bed extender includes an extending rail having a truck end and a free end. The truck end is coupled to a trailer hitch receiver and the free end includes a bottom trailer hitch receiver. A support assembly is coupled to the extending rail receiver proximate the free end. The support assembly includes a rear T-shaped support member. The ramps are pivotally and slideably coupled to the support assembly proximate the rear T-shaped member. A locking bar is configured to secure the ramps at an angle between and including substantially horizontal and substantially vertical with respect the truck bed, and engages the support assembly.

Abstract: A vehicle cargo area extender including a pair of sidewalls, a center wall extending between the pair of sidewalls and a lid removably disposed relative to the pair of sidewalls and the center wall. The sidewalls, the center wall and the lid cooperate to define an enclosure having an open end. The vehicle cargo area extender is moveably mounted between a stored position relative to a vehicle cargo area wherein the open end of the enclosure is adjacent to the rear wall of the vehicle cargo area and a deployed position so as to be supported by the rear wall of the vehicle cargo area when it is in its extended position such that the open end of the enclosure faces the vehicle cargo area thereby increasing the effective size of the vehicle cargo area.

The truck bed extension includes a pair of transversely spaced sidewalls interconnected by a spacing member. The sidewalls each have a forward margin and a lower margin. The forward margins have hardware mimicking that present on the pickup tailgate, so as to permit the sidewalls to couple to the truck bed walls without the need for additional hardware. The lower margins have hardware mimicking that present on the truck bed walls, so as to permit the sidewalls to couple to the tail gate without the need for additional hardware.

Abstract: A convertible cargo body for a vehicle for allowing the user to convert cargo boxes to trailers depending upon the type of cargo being carried. The convertible cargo body for a vehicle includes a cargo body support assembly being adapted to be mounted upon a chassis of a vehicle; and also includes a cargo body assembly including a first box member being securely supported upon the cargo body support assembly and also including a second box member being hingedly attached to and removably disposed upon the first box member; and further includes a wheeled trailer assembly for supporting the second box member.

Abstract: The present invention comprises an extension apparatus for a vehicle storage area with the preferred embodiments using a bracket and frame construction to provide for a foldable lightweight extension device.

Abstract: In a transporting vehicle provided with a trailer hauled by a tractor, the trailer is constructed by a first trailer unit connectable with the tractor and a second trailer unit detachably connectable with the first trailer unit. At mutually opposed connecting sections of the first and second trailer units is provided a connecting mechanism for integrally connecting the first and second trailer units with the rear end of the first trailer unit held in contact with the front end of the second trailer unit. The transporting vehicle can transport cargoes on roads other than main roads while being allowed to have a relatively simple construction and an improved loading capacity.

Abstract: A truck bed extension assembly mounted only when needed on the truck bed and lowered (e.g., horizontal) tail gate of a material transport vehicle, such as a pickup truck, providing for enhanced material handling capacity, while being able to be stored within the truck bed when not needed. The assembly is generally comprised of two lengthwise members placed within and both temporarily and nominally attached to said truck bed, and extending beyond the truck bed and two vertical members temporarily attached to lengthwise members in order to constrain the load within the truck.

Abstract: An auxiliary load supporting apparatus for a vehicle having a front and a rear and a left and right sidewall, comprising: a first base mounted to said left sidewall and extending upward therefrom to a desired height, between six inches and 50 inches above said left sidewall; a second base mounted to said right sidewall and extending upward therefrom to a desired height, between six inches and 50 inches above said right sidewall; a first framework mounted to said first base and extending rearward therefrom away from the left sidewall; a second framework mounted to said second base and extending rearward therefrom away from the right sidewall; a transom extending from the first framework to the second framework rearward from the rear. A third support point is defined by the angle between the transom and the truck bed by the tailgate of the truck so that the transom does not need to take all of the support of the load.

Abstract: A cargo bed extension system for allowing a user to ease the loading and unloading of equipment from a truck bed as well as increase the size of the cargo space. The cargo bed extension system includes an extension assembly that has a pair of end panels and a center panel. Each of the end panels is hingably coupled to opposite ends of the center panel. A pair of mounting assemblies each are designed for mounting to the cargo bed of the vehicle. Each of the mounting assemblies are for selectively receiving one of the end panels such that each of the end panels are designed for being secured to the cargo bed of the vehicle. A securing assembly is designed for mounting to a tailgate of the vehicle, the securing assembly is for selectively engaging the center panel of the extension assembly such that the securing assembly is designed for securing the center panel to the tailgate of the vehicle.

Abstract: A device consisting of three panels, a rear panel and two side panels, hinged to the tailgate of a pick-up truck and to each other in such a manner that when unfolded and secured with the tailgate in a lowered position, it results in an increased and enclosed area of the pick-up box to permit carrying oversized objects by pick-up trucks with six foot or eight foot nominal length boxes. The device can be hinged downward when the tailgate is in a lowered, horizontal position thereby not obstructing the loading or unloading process. The device folds for storage against the closed tailgate by means of adjustable hinges, taking a minimum of space when not in use without unduly obstructing the pick-up box loading area. The dimensions of the panels vary in height, length and width in relation to the dimensions of pick-up truck boxes of various manufacturers and models.

Abstract: A panel or cutting table which is preferably substituted for the tailgate for holding a cuttable item to be worked on and for mounting a tool having a blade and for supporting a cuttable item said device being attachable to a vehicle resting on the ground with an extendable central frame which may be reduced in size to be approximately the size of the panel or tailgate replaced and defining a holding mechanism for holding a saw and other tools so that the tools may be rotated to give the proper cut and also having an aligning rule to control the angle of the blade relative to a second aligning rule which holds the item to be cut square. In addition, the panel has a pair of legs capable of receiving two by fours so that a saw horse is provided. Finally, a scaffolding framework is described so that the panel may be used on hot days with a covering.

Abstract: An improved net for the tailgate section of a pickup truck includes spaced side frames attached to the side wall of the truck and to the end of the tailgate in the open or lowered position. The side frames support an open net unit having a pair of side sections and a rear section attached to the side sections. The side sections are supported by spaced vertical support members which are pivotally attached to a horizontal support member. The support members are easily folded into a compact profile for easy storage and the net assembly is easy to install and to remove and store.

Abstract: A travel trailer having a rear end wall with an extendable or slide-out room. The vehicle also has a floor and an opening in said rear end wall, such that said slide-out room is fitted in said opening. The vehicle includes an upper mechanism and a lower mechanism for supporting the slide-out room for movement between a retracted position within said vehicle spaced above said floor and an extended position projecting rearwardly of said rear end wall. A ceiling is attached to and perpendicular to the rear end wall wherein the upper mechanism includes a guide rail mounted to the ceiling and a hanger attached to the slide-out room for moving within the guide rail. The guide rail has a generally C-shaped cross sectional configuration so as to provide a slot which extends longitudinally along the rail such that the hanger extends through the slot, the hanger having rollers supported within the guide rail to facilitate movement therein.

Abstract: A truck bed extension that is convertible into a ramp. The truck bed extension is comprised of three panels, including a back wall and two side walls, which are hinged together to allow the truck bed extension to be straightened when detached from the truck bed and used as a ramp or ladder. The truck bed extension also has a ramp lip, such that the ramp lip acts as an extension of the ramp and is positioned on the extended tailgate of the truck. This ramp lip reduces the angle of incline of the ramp and alleviates “bottoming out” of the wheeled vehicles moving in and out of the truck.

Abstract: A storage and retrieval assembly for a vehicle cargo area is disclosed. The storage and retrieval assembly includes a base support structure mounted in the vehicle cargo area, a first tray moveably connected to the base support structure and a second tray attached to the first tray. The attached first and second trays are movable into and out of the vehicle cargo area through an opening thereof. A storage and retrieval system for a vehicle cargo area is also disclosed. The storage and retrieval system may include the described storage and retrieval assembly in combination with a shelf assembly mounted in the vehicle cargo area and/or a shelf mounted on the wheel well of the vehicle in the cargo area.

Abstract: A ramp for motorcycles and lawn mowers folds up into a gate to fit on top of a tailgate of a pickup truck to extend the truck bed onto the open tailgate.

Abstract: Mobile living quarter incorporates a slide out room which is moveable between an extended position providing auxiliary living quarters when the unit is parked and a retracted position retracted into the main living area when the unit moved. A latching mechanism automatically latches the slide out room to the main living quarters as the slide out room is moved into the fully retracted position, and releases the latch to permit outward movement of the room when the unit is parked and the slide out room is extended.

Abstract: A tool holding table mountable onto a car or truck exterior surface frame member, such as the brackets for holding a tailgate is described. Preferably the mounting surface is the tailgate of a truck. The table provides a cutting surface defining an opening for receiving a blade, for example a saw blade so that the blade interrupts the cutting surface so that it may cut material on the cutting surface. The table is also equipped with at least one saw horse. It also provides a power source which allows for it to be operated from a switch on the ground or the side. The saw table is preferably the same size as the vehicle tailgate when folded and unfolds to be large enough to support standard lengths of material to be cut.

Abstract: An extendable sleeper for a truck that has a fixed portion and an extension. The extension is slidably connected to the fixed portion for horizontal longitudinal movement with respect thereto. The fixed portion is defined by rigid sleeper sidewalls, and is adapted for attaching to a rear portion of a truck cab. The extension has rigid extension sidewalls and a rigid rear panel. The movement of the extension with respect to the fixed portion causes the extendable sleeper to move between a stored configuration and a deployed configuration. In the stored configuration, at least part of the extension is located inside the fixed portion. In the deployed configuration, at least another part of the extension is extending behind the fixed portion such that the sleeper has a relatively greater enclosed volume.

Abstract: An auxiliary load supporting apparatus for a vehicle having a front and a rear and a left and right sidewall, comprising: a first base mounted to said left sidewall and extending upward therefrom to a desired height, between six inches and 50 inches above said left sidewall; a second base mounted to said right sidewall and extending upward therefrom to a desired height, between six inches and 50 inches above said right sidewall; a first framework mounted to said first base and extending rearward therefrom away from the left sidewall; a second framework mounted to said second base and extending rearward therefrom away from the right sidewall; a transom extending from the first framework to the second framework rearward from the rear. A third support point is defined by the angle between the transom and the truck bed by the tailgate of the truck so that the transom does not need to take all of the support of the load.

Abstract: A flush floor device for use on recreational vehicles having slide out rooms includes a floor of the slide out room that according to one embodiment of the invention pivots relative to the slide out room's outer wall. When the slide out room is extended, the inner edge of the auxiliary floor moves into a flush position with the main floor, and the outer edge of the auxiliary floor deflects downwardly along with the supporting extensible members. An edge unit attached to the main floor includes a nylon camming member which cams against the auxiliary floor in order to smoothly raise or lower the auxiliary floor inner edge as the slide out room is retracted or extended. According to another embodiment of the invention, a system of levers maintains the auxiliary floor generally coplanar with the main floor. According to still another embodiment of the invention, the entire slide out room is raised and lowered while maintaining the floor of the slide out room substantially horizontal.

Abstract: An extendable truck frame includes extended frame rails and interconnecting members. One end of the extended rails includes a connection that can be received by and secured into the back end of truck frame. In one embodiment, the extended rails can be positioned either at the general level of the truck frame to essentially extend the truck frame in the same general plane as the truck frame, but alternatively can be secured to the truck frame at a different, for example lower, position. The extended frame is releasable by interconnecting mechanisms so that extended frame can be selectively used.

Abstract: A tailgate attachment for extending the cargo space of a load bed of a vehicle includes a back panel pivotally coupled to a bottom panel. The bottom panel is designed for resting on a tailgate of a load bed of a vehicle. First and second side panels are pivotally coupled to the back panel. Each of the side panels is designed for detachable attachment to an adjacent side wall of a vehicle when the tailgate of the vehicle is generally horizontal.

Abstract: A partitioning system for use in the storage area of a vehicle is disclosed. The partitioning system includes a multipurpose shelf that can be positioned in a plurality of different locations. The shelf can be disposed (1) horizontally near the top of the rear row of seats to act as a security cover; (2) horizontally along the floor in the storage area; (3) horizontally to cooperate of a folded last row of seats to provide a generally flat surface from the end gate into the passenger area; (4) vertically and adjacent to the rear row of seats; and (5) horizontally, while the end gate is open, such that the shelf extends beyond the storage area as defined by a closed end gate. The shelf includes a pivotable support leg that may contact the vehicle body to support the shelf in this horizontal position that extends beyond the storage area defined by a closed end gate.
