  • Patent number: 9193291
Abstract: A slide-out or retractable room for a mobile living quarters, such as a recreational vehicle, is provided with actuating assemblies mounted on opposite side walls of the slide-out room and the adjacent wall of the main living area. The actuating assemblies include a pair of parallel gear racks mounted on the side wall, which are engaged by pinions rotated by torque shafts mounted on the main living quarters. Each torque shaft is rotated by a separate motor. A roller engages a bearing surface on the lower portion of the gear racks. Accordingly, the slide-out room is extended and retracted by rotating the torque shafts to cause the gear racks and the attached slide-out room to extend and retract. The weight of the slide-out room is supported by the rollers, thereby supporting the slide-out room off of the floor of the main living quarters as it extends and retracts. A synchronizing control operates the motors.

A first end of each of the “L” shaped members is fixedly secured in spaced relation to the platform. A second end of the “L” shaped members is pivotally secured to one of the supports. This enables the platform to be pivotally movable from a substantially vertical stored position parallel to the one side of the recreational vehicle to a substantially horizontal operative position resting at a ground surface.

  • Patent number: 6758514
Abstract: A pickup truck modification includes opposing, hingedly attached sidewalls for effectively extending the width of a truck bed. The sidewalls may be selectively positioned vertically or horizontally, and, when positioned horizontally, allow for positioning relatively wide loads. The truck bed is effectively widened as the sidewalls are laterally positioned in weight bearing relation by abutment members which depend from the sidewalls. Loads wider than the truck bed, but not substantially exceeding the additional width created by the laterally extended sidewalls, may be placed on the truck bed with the excess portion of the load supported by the sidewalls. When used in combination with an extendable ramp assembly, loading and unloading of bulky loads is greatly facilitated.

  • Patent number: 6644708
Abstract: A vehicle cargo bed has reconfigurable drop side and tail panels. Tail lights are incorporated within the reconfigurable panels. Each side panel is hinged with respect to the cargo bed so that the side panel can pivot downwardly to a cargo bed widening horizontal position or upwardly to a vertical or horizontal position spaced from the cargo bed. The cargo bed includes a storage box accessible through the side entrance. The side panel may also be hinged with respect to itself to form a lip or small restraining wall.

  • Patent number: 6533338
Abstract: A cammed vertical arm support system is described for the support and control of an expandable room that may be moved between a retracted position within a vehicle to an expanded position outward from the vehicle. The cammed relationship allows the room floor to lie above and generally parallel with the vehicle floor when the room is retracted and beside and generally flush with the vehicle floor when the room is extended. A moveable housing to conceal vertical arms is also disclosed.

Abstract: A vehicle, when equipped with the “Vehicle, collapsible room extensions” system, is provided with additional living or working space. The increased size now available allows the never before possible, addition of totally independent room(s). The room(s) panels, i.e., floor, walls and ceiling, are all substantially hinged to each other at the edges. When hinged opened, a standard looking ridged material room is created. When folded, collapsed in to each other, the panels are reduced to a very thin flat stack, facilitating compact storage for traveling. This stack is attached and transported on the exterior of the vehicle. No part of the “Vehicle, collapsible room extensions” unit is projected in to the vehicle, this allows unobstructed full use of the original vehicles inside space while traveling. Traditional slide outs, do obstruct, restrict and hamper the original vehicles usable interior space.

  • Patent number: 6446997
Abstract: An inflated raft trailer adapted for transporting an inflated raft to and from a river, a lake and other water recreation areas. The trailer is designed to be pulled behind a vehicle and to quickly discharge the raft from the top of the trailer into the water and quickly return the raft to the top of the trailer at the completion of a trip. The inflated raft trailer includes a trailer bed mounted on a wheeled axle. The trailer bed includes front and rear portions, first side portion and second side portions and a center portion. A vertical front frame is mounted along a length of the front portion. A movable tail gate frame, with an elongated roller mounted thereon, is hinged along a length of the rear portion of the trailer bed. The tail gate frame can be raised from a lowered position to a raised vertical position. A vertical first side frame is mounted along a length of the first side portion and a vertical second side frame is mounted along a length of the second side portion of the trailer bed.

  • Patent number: 6402216
Abstract: Transportable living quarters includes a main frame supporting a main living area and a slide-out room that slides between an extended and retracted position relative to the main living area. The actuation mechanism for extending and retracting the slide-out room includes a curved slider arm that causes the slide-out room to tilt slightly when moving into the fully extended or retracted positions. Upon extension, the slide-out room tilts outwardly to compress an inner compressible seal between sealing surfaces on the main living area and the slide-out room inner flange. Upon retraction, the slide-out room tilts in the opposite direction to compress an outer compressible seal between sealing surfaces on the outside of the main living area and the outer flange of the slide-out room. This tilting of the room results in a tighter seal at the top of the slide-out room that better isolates the living area from the outside elements.

Abstract: A portable stage having at least a transport configuration and a deployed configuration is disclosed. The portable stage includes a chassis having wheels rotatably attached thereto and a main floor panel attached to the chassis. First and second deployable floor panels are pivotally attached to the main floor panel, and a deployable canopy is attached to the chassis. The deployable canopy is stored between the first and second floor panels when the portable stage is in its transport configuration. When the stage is deployed, the main floor panel, first floor panel and second floor panel form a main stage, and the canopy is large enough to cover the main stage.
