Abstract: A cargo area divider for a vehicle is provided which can be automatically transferred into an operative position or a non-operative position by a motor drive. Monitors for locking mechanisms of the operative position serve to dynamically block a roller blind shaft for the divider. Also, it is provided to monitor a loading level of the cargo area and to trigger an automatic transfer of a divider net or a partition wall into the operating position in response to the loading level exceeding a predetermined amount.

Abstract: A storage system is provided for the rear storage compartment of a vehicle. The storage system may include a collapsible cart that is received in tracks in a load floor. Other types of objects may be stored on the load floor or in compartments below the load floor. Compartments may be provided below the load floor on a tray having multiple compartments that is rotatable within a well formed under the load floor. A frame for storing removable trays, bins or the collapsible cart may be used to store objects above the load floor.

Abstract: A frame is for temporary installation in a trunk, which is situated behind the rear seats of a vehicle and opens up into the passenger compartment of this vehicle. In order to horizontally align the frame inside the trunk opening, the size of the frame is adapted to the opening so that the frame encloses the trunk opening as completely as possible. Insert parts may be inserted into the frame as needed. Together with the insert parts placed in the frame, the trunk is horizontally covered in the upward direction. The cover is simultaneously used to partition the trunk into two superposed, separately loadable regions.

Abstract: An integrated bed drawer assembly is provided for a vehicle having a bed with a floor and sides extending upwardly and along the sides. The integrated bed drawer assembly includes a plurality of rails adapted to be spaced longitudinally and extend laterally between the sides above the floor of the bed. The integrated bed drawer assembly also includes a drawer operatively cooperating with the rails for sliding movement therealong.

Abstract: A cargo area divider for a motor vehicle has a flexible planar structure that is equipped in a front end region with a pull-out profile that has retaining elements for detachably securing the pull-out profile on vehicle-mounted retainers in a roof region of the motor vehicle. When the planar structure is in the pulled-out functional state, the retaining elements project upward beyond an upper edge of the pull-out profile; and the corresponding vehicle-mounted retainers are positioned, in order to receive the retaining elements, in a horizontal headliner region at a distance from lateral roof frame elements of the roof region of the motor vehicle.

Abstract: According to the present invention, a storage compartment for the rear end of a speciality vehicle is provided. The storage compartment has a primary compartment that is slidably mounted to the vehicle body. Sub-compartments are pivotally connected to the side walls of the primary compartment. The sub-compartments are pivoted from a closed position wherein the sub-compartments overlie a base portion of the primary compartment to a open position wherein the sub-compartments are pivoted on a pivot connection to a position wherein they are outboard of the base. A deck lid is provided to enclose the storage compartment.

Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a new and improved storage trunk creation system for a vehicle having a load deck, deck sidewalls and a tailgate. The storage trunk creation system is securely mounted on a jeep style vehicle between the back of the front seats and the rear tailgate, and from one side of the jeep sidewall to the other. The storage trunk creation system has a hingedly attached top surface or access door that is engaged in a locked position when the tailgate is closed. When the tailgate is open, the access door may be lifted up from the storage trunk space crated by the system. The access door may also have a rack mounted to its outer, upper surface to further store items when the top is in the locked position.

Abstract: A load restraining barrier for use in a motor vehicle, suspended between the passenger compartment and the trunk compartment. The barrier includes a barrier body having a front, a back, a top, a bottom, and two sides, the front facing the trunk compartment, the back facing the passenger compartment, the top adjacent the package tray, the bottom adjacent the vehicle's bottom wall, and the two sides adjacent the vehicle's two side walls. A substantially horizontal reinforcing member extends between the two sides and is located at or below a midpoint between the top and the bottom. The barrier body is attached to the vehicle's package tray, and is releasably attached to at least one of the bottom wall and the side walls. When the barrier is installed at the trunk forward end, cargo in the trunk compartment is restrained from entering the passenger compartment under predetermined frontal crash conditions.

The swivelling axis of the covering element extends approximately in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Two covering elements are provided which are pivotable about respective swivelling axes of hinges extending along lateral sides of the cargo space. The hinges are releasable and the covering elements are configured to form a portable suitcase when removed from the vehicle.

Abstract: A rear structure of a unitized motor vehicle body with two side wall sections includes a transverse wall located below a rear window cutout. The transverse wall connects the sidewall sections with one another, and has two cross members spaced apart from one another, between which a flat part extends. The first cross member, adjacent to the rear window cutout, is fitted with zero play between the side wall sections and a bearing is provided for the second cross member on each side. The bearing ensures an adjustability of the second cross member between the side wall sections at least in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The flat part is a trim member connected exclusively with the two cross members.

Abstract: A partitioning system for use in the storage area of a vehicle is disclosed. The partitioning system includes a multipurpose shelf that can be positioned in a plurality of different locations. The shelf can be disposed (1) horizontally near the top of the rear row of seats to act as a security cover; (2) horizontally along the floor in the storage area; (3) horizontally to cooperate of a folded last row of seats to provide a generally flat surface from the end gate into the passenger area; (4) vertically and adjacent to the rear row of seats; and (5) horizontally, while the end gate is open, such that the shelf extends beyond the storage area as defined by a closed end gate. The shelf includes a pivotable support leg that may contact the vehicle body to support the shelf in this horizontal position that extends beyond the storage area defined by a closed end gate.
