    Abstract: A jack storage assembly is provided for use in conjunction with an automotive vehicle having a wheel well for storage of a spare tire and in which the wheel well includes a bracket over which the spare tire is positioned. The assembly includes a bucket which is adapted to contain a jack, and the bucket is detachably secured to the bracket so that the spare tire is sandwiched in between the bucket and the wheel well. The cover is then positioned over the spare tire while a fastener is detachably secured to the bucket such that the cover is sandwiched in between the fastener and the bucket.

    Abstract: A vehicle body includes an undercarriage storage compartment for storing items such as a spare tire, tools and/or other types of equipment underneath a pick-up truck bed. The vehicle body includes a generally flat truck bed bottom member that extends in a longitudinal direction along the vehicle. The bottom member is mounted to a vehicle structure such as, a vehicle frame, chassis, or unibody member. The storage compartment has a support surface extending underneath the bottom member for supporting items such as the spare tire and associated tools. The storage compartment slides to an open position to allow access to the spare tire and tools and is then returned to a closed position to store the tire and tools within the storage compartment. In one embodiment, the support surface is tiltable to allow ramp access to the truck bed.

The rotatable spare wheel carrier includes a base portion adapted to engage a spare wheel and be spaced above a base wall of a recess in a rear compartment of a vehicle. The rotatable spare wheel carrier also includes a leg portion extending downwardly and longitudinally from the base portion and a foot portion extending longitudinally from the leg portion and adapted to be secured to the base wall. The rotatable spare wheel carrier further includes a living hinge between the base portion and the leg portion to allow the base portion to rotate relative to the leg portion upon an impact on a rear of the vehicle.
