  • Patent number: 8172192
Abstract: A longitudinal displacement device is provided that has an upper rail that is displaceable in the longitudinal direction, and a stationary lower rail. A linear guide that has a bearing element for longitudinal guidance and support of the upper rail is located in the longitudinal direction between the upper rail and the lower rail. Provided on the upper rail is a carrier that engages in a recess bounded by two stops and located in the center region of the bearing cage as viewed in the longitudinal direction, in order to carry the bearing cage along. A recess bounded by two stops is located in the center region of the bearing element. Provided on the upper rail is a carrier that engages in the recess. During a displacement of the upper rail, the bearing element is carried along by the carrier, so that the upper rail is always supported on the lower rail over its entire length. • Patent number: 6488249
Abstract: An adjustment system for a seat including at least one foot adapted to be mounted to the seat, and a slideway having a longitudinal slot configured to receive the foot in a sliding manner. The foot has an expandable mechanism with locking members having symmetric and opposed action relative to a central longitudinal plane. The slideway has a plurality of locking portions. The expandable mechanism has a first position in which the locking members are oriented with a first transverse width such that the expandable mechanism can be introduced into and extracted from the slot. The mechanism has a second position where the locking members have a second transverse width such that a locking member is engaged to a locking portion, thereby immobilizing the foot relative to the slideway.

  • Patent number: 6422526
Abstract: A structure of support leg member having a pair of reinforcing pieces formed laterally thereof, which is used with a seat slide device provided in an automotive seat, wherein an inclinable portion is defined in the upper securing portion of the support leg member on which a guide rail of the seat slide device is securely amounted. The inclinable portion allows the guide rail to be inclined by a great load applied thereto in excess of a tolerable amount, thereby protecting the seat slide device against damage. The inclinable portion, for instance, may comprise an upward protuberant bead formed in the upper securing portion so that a pair of spacings are defined between the guide rail and a base portion of that upper securing portion such as to allow inclination of the guide towards the center of the automotive seat.

  • Patent number: 6318696
Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat bottom and a seat back supported for movement relative to the seat bottom such that seat position can be adjusted forwardly or rearwardly with respect to the vehicle. The seat assembly is mounted a vehicle structure via inboard track and outboard track assemblies. Each track assembly includes a first track and a second track supported for movement relative to the first track. The seat bottom is supported on the second tracks for movement with the second tracks. A locking mechanism is installed on at least one of the track assemblies. The locking mechanism has a spring that is mounted between the first and second tracks. The spring is biased into engagement with the first and second tracks to frictionally retain the second track in a locked position. A handle is manually actuated to move the locking mechanism from the locked position to an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 6279982
Abstract: When a rear seat is moved forward, a front leg is swung forward around a roller arm. When the front leg of the rear seat is swung forward by a predetermined angle, a hook provided in the roller arm is detached from a round bar portion of a striker so that a roller is moved downward along a guide rail. Further, as the roller is moved downward along the guide rail, the front leg of the rear seat is swung forward around the roller arm. Therefore, a radius of rotation of the seat is reduced when the rear seat is moved to a position for storage on a vertical-front-side floor surface.
