  • Patent number: 5660430
Abstract: An infant entertainment device having a molded plastic receptacle which receives a portable seat or layette, the device rotating a baby carried by the seat at a rate of about one rpm relative to a stationary base member. Optionally, the carousel may be equipped with a cam on the stationary base and a cam-riding rod which engages and rocks the removable seat relative to the molded carrier as the upper portion rotates relative to the stationary base. Music is provided by a microchip, for example, or at the option of the operator, the carousel may be operated without music. A toddler carousel may be formed by providing the rotational base member with a mountable seat such as a pony. Preferably, the pony is mounted in the center of the carousel and can be rocked by the toddler. Alternatively, the pony may be mounted adjacent the periphery of the carousel to provide the toddler with a more conventional carousel-type ride.

  • Patent number: 4824170
Abstract: A detachable swivel mechanism is disclosed for an outdoor chair adapted for regular or reclining use. The mechanism consists of a base, adjustable telescoping support members which may be attached to many different sizes and types of outdoor chairs and swivel means to which the telescoping members and base are connected. In one embodiment, the mechanism may have a circular base having a diameter of at least the same size as the width of the seat of the chair to which it is attached, and means at the periphery of the base providing a circular track thereon. A plurality of rigid supports may be provided to hold the seat above the circular base. Roller means are used to mount the lower end of these supports for movement along the track to permit the seat to swivel, and means overlying the circular track are used to hold the roller means on the track.

  • Patent number: 4786064
Abstract: An infant seat which converts from a car seat into a stroller. The infant seat comprises a chair connected to a wheel frame on which the wheel set is mounted. The wheel set consists of front and rear wheels connected by a linking means. When the wheel frame is in a stowed condition, it supports the chair in either a forward-facing or rearward-facing car seat configuration. The wheel set is stowed behind or below the chair while the car seat is secured to the automobile seat by the automobile safety belts threaded through the wheel frame. To convert the car seat into a stroller, the wheel frame rotates about its pinned connections to the chair to simultaneously deploy the linked front and rear wheels. The chair back reclines with respect to the chair bottom to convert the stroller into a carriage. Modifications of the wheel frame allow the infant seat to be converted into an infant rocker. Accessories such as a sun shade and footrest also extend from the chair.

  • Patent number: 4777672
Abstract: A children's toilet apparatus is disclosed that is convertible from a free-standing potty chair to a toilet trainer that cooperates with a conventional toilet. The apparatus principally comprises a toilet seat member and adjustable legs which are pivotally interconnected. When employed as a free-standing potty chair, the leg members independently support the toilet seat member. When utilized as a toilet trainer, the leg members are oriented so that the toilet seat member is stabilized on and about the water closet seat of a conventional toilet by virtue of the interconnection of the toilet seat member and the leg members and contact of one of the leg members with a floor surface. In a preferred arrangement, one of the leg members is provided with a step member and hand grips to aid children in positioning themselves on top of the toilet seat member when the apparatus is employed as a toilet trainer.
