Abstract: A chair support shell has an integral back portion, seat portion, and joining portion between the back portion and the seat portion. At least a major portion of the support shell comprises a compliant structure, the compliant structure having a plurality of cells interconnected by a plurality of resilient members. The compliant structure provides compliance in the seat portion, compliance in the back portion, and compliance in the joining portion. The compliant structure enables recline of the back portion relative to the seat portion.

Abstract: A seating furniture chassis comprises a seat surface frame, a backrest frame, two armrests, and a drive mechanism. The backrest frame is pivotable about a virtual pivot axis defined by two pivot points, wherein the backrest frame is fastened to the pivot points on the armrests. The drive mechanism is connected to the backrest frame by a translation mechanism. The drive mechanism is designed to trigger a translation of the translation mechanism, wherein the translation is converted into a pivoting movement of the backrest frame about the pivot axis. The backrest frame is connected below the pivot points to the seat surface frame so that during the pivoting movement the seat surface frame is moved translationally. The drive mechanism is arranged below a first lateral edge region of the seat surface frame.
Abstract: A recliner has a chassis relative to which a seat, a backrest and a leg rest are supported. Electrically controlled recliner and leg rest mechanisms displace the backrest and leg rest between sitting and reclining states. The chassis is supported via a rocker mechanism on a base so as to allow rocking of the chassis relative to the base from a neutral position alternately towards a forward-tipped position and a rearward-tipped position. An electrically controlled rocker-limiting mechanism is deployed such that progressive actuation of the rocker-limiting mechanism deploys from a neutral state in which the chassis is free to rock through an intermediate state in which the chassis is free to rock within only a limited range to a final state in which the chassis is forced into a rearward-tipped position.
Abstract: An adjusting device for a vehicle component, in particular for the seat back of a vehicle seat, has a first and a second fitting part which are disposed along an axis of rotation. The relative position of the two fitting parts with respect to one another can be changed. A torque is transmitted by a drive to a gear which rolls on the second fitting part and thereby adjusts the second fitting part.
