A seat rest is removably and adjustably fastened to the horizontal member to adapt the swing to various sized persons and selectively control the amount of bending by the user to operate said swing. A vertically spaced apart upper and lower cross member extends outwardly equally from each side of the vertical member to receive the first pair of ropes which are secured to the lower cross member.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1983Date of Patent: February 11, 1986Inventor: Jack L. Patent number: 4221429Abstract: A suspended recliner is provided with a leg support area which depends vertically downward from the main body of the recliner. When an individual enters the recliner, the leg support may be left in its depending position, thereby providing a chair-like support for the occupant, or the weight of the occupant may be used to provide a force to position the footrest in an aligned configuration with the main body of the recliner. The footrest is provided with a locking device to maintain this position. With the footrest locked in place, the occupant may shift his position in the hammock to provide a semi-reclining support or a totally horizontally deployed hammock with the main portion providing a sling-type chair support with the juncture of the footrest and main portion generally coinciding with the knees of the occupant. Also, the device is equipped with a centrally located vertical hanging support which requires only a single mounting point from which to hang the entire suspended recliner.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1978Date of Patent: September 9, 1980Assignee: James NemecInventor: Mark W. Patent number: 4195708Abstract: The chair is suspended from a elevated aerial ladder and hangs by gravity in a stable manner. The stability enables a worker, such as a sign painter, to be seated while performing his task without being disturbed by tilting and swaying. The stability is due to suspending the chair from a point well above the worker's head which causes the chair to hang stably. The worker can change the direction in which the chair faces by releasing a latch and manually swivelling the chair to a desired direction where he then holds it by reengaging the latch. No power or hydraulic devices are required in achieving the vertical stability nor the swivelling and latching in desired directional position. Therefore the chair is useful on a simple aerial ladder or other type of aerial lift.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1978Date of Patent: April 1, 1980Inventor: Charles C. Cannon
