The armrest holder is pivotable and a pivoting causes the armrest to be adjusted in height. An arresting device fixes the armrest holder in a height position. The arresting device is arranged at the upper, alterable-height end of the armrest holder and has a linearly movable latching element. The latching element is connected via a guide element to the armrest holder such that each pivoting movement of the armrest holder induces a linear movement of the latching element.

At least one cup like member having an open end is disposed adjacent an upper surface of such elongated member and a closed end is disposed within such elongated member and surrounded by the foam material for use as a holder for a beverage container. There is a means for closing such elongated member after the foam material has been added and also a means for securing the cup like member to such elongated member.

Abstract: A chair having a metal rod frame back assembly where the frame includes generally horizontal top, bottom and middle members and spaced apart generally vertical side members. Two seat brackets are welded to the middle and bottom members and attach to a seat board and two rod segments are welded to the side members. The seat board is covered with foam and upholstery. The back frame may be covered with springy mesh to give a thin elegant, yet comfortable back structure. Alternatively, foam is glued to a structural material and the material and foam combination and the frame are covered with upholstery. Arms and armrests are attached to the seat board and the seat and back assemblies with arms are mounted to a pedestal connected to a five spoke base riding on casters.

Abstract: A portable single-sided armrest assembly that is added to or removed from any seating device/location without requiring any fixed mounting or permanent or semi-permanent attachment means. The armrest assembly includes an L-shaped member having a lower plate section serving as a seat for the person using the armrest while further including a backplate section which slidably mounts an upright support plate or portion. One end of the support plate includes an elongated cushion armrest fixedly attached thereto, while further including an elongated slot mounting a threaded cap serving as a guide as the support plate is moved to a desired vertical position. A lock knob is employed for securing the armrest and support plate in a fixed location on the backplate. An adapter plate is employed for attachment between an angular section joining the backplate of the L-shaped member to the lower seat section of the member, wherein the adapter is employed to occupy a vacant right angled space in a standard seat.

Abstract: A seat assembly for use in an automotive vehicle comprising a seat cushion extending between a front portion and a rear portion for supporting a seat occupant on the seat assembly and a seat back extending longitudinally between a lower portion coupled to the rear portion of the seat cushion and an upper portion. The seat back includes a front support surface for supporting the seat occupant in an upright seating position. A cavity is recessed in the seat cushion between the front portion and the rear portion. A center console is seated in the cavity forming a planar portion of the seat cushion. A support mechanism is coupled between the center console and the seat cushion for removably securing the center console between a secured position recessed in the cavity and a detached position released from attachment to the seat cushion and removed from the cavity.
