The method includes: punching the backrest body and the frames; placing the frames into the backrest body; processing the metal bushings; sandblasting or sanding the external surface of the metal bushing; coating a configured structural adhesive on the metal bushing, and oppositely bonding the metal bushing; fixing the bonded metal bushing by a tool; and placing the fixed metal bushing, the composite backrest and the two frames into a drying oven for heating.

The sectional sofa includes a central section having a seat and a pair of backs positioned approximately ninety degrees to each other forming a V-shaped opening therebetween. Affixed on each side of the central section is a side section which includes a back frame that can be easily inserted or removed into a seat frame as needed. End sections having a back frame, seat frame and an arm frame are affixed to each side section. Each back includes a pair of stakes which are slideably engaged within rectangular apertures in the seat frame for ease in manufacturing and stability in use. Additional standard bolts connect each section together for safety and convenience. The central section V-shaped opening allows for simplicity during construction and adds to the aesthetic qualities of the sofa design.

Abstract: This invention concerns a sofa which solves the problems of the prior art by providing a sofa that can easily be assembled or disassembled by the end consumer at home. The disassembled sofa can be stored in 3 flat boxes. Storage in the flat boxes not only helps the warehouse to store the sofa, but when the end user has purchased the sofa it is easier in such flat boxes to transport it to the location where it will be assembled. The way this invention accomplishes these results is as follows: The parts of the sofa can be broken down into three boxes. Chaise sections can be assembled by placing the seat back flat on the ground and placing the seat frame/arm upright on top of the seat back. A metal threaded rod is used to connect the seat frame and the seat back. A metal nut is used to secure the seat frame to the back using a wrench that comes provided in the package of the kit. The legs are then twisted onto the bottom of the seat frame.

The articulated recliner includes high-strength sheath portions into which plastic bayonets from the seat pan and the seat back are inserted. The use of the articulated recliner results in a seat having improved strength. In addition, the combination of the sheaths of the articulated recliner in conjunction with the bayonets of the seat back and seat pan help eliminate the need for additional attachment mechanisms, thereby making the universal seat easier to manufacture and install.

A method is also provided for configuring the couch. The method includes the steps of removing the removable backing from a first section of the base, changing the position of the cushion to accommodate the removable backing along a second section of the base, and installing the removable backing along the second section of the base. Preferably, the couch is a chaise couch.

Abstract: The invention discloses unique brackets, which form a bracket assembly that may be placed at any location of various components to form an assembly piece, such as furniture. An assembled furniture piece made of furniture panels interconnected with attached engaging and receiving brackets is provided. The engaging and receiving brackets are positioned on components to facilitate the connection of the components. A method to assemble furniture having preformed arm, base, seat and back components is provided. This method of assembly saves on shipment costs, and facilitates the repair of damaged furniture.
