Abstract: The invention relates to a seat (1), in particular an office chair, comprising a seat support (3) for a seating surface (6) and comprising a backrest support (4) of a backrest (5), which is held on the seat support (3) so as to be able to move in a tillable manner to the side, wherein the backrest support (4) comprises two support aims (4a, 4b) which are configured to be flexible and/or articulated laterally and spaced apart from one another. Preferably, the seating surface (6) and/or the backrest (5) comprises a curved seat shell and/or backrest shell (6a, 5a) provided with a cover (6b, 5b) with a number of flexible curved ribs (15, 16) on the edge of the shell, wherein the cover is stretched by the seat shell and/or backrest shell (6a, 5a) such that when the cover (6b, 5b) is loaded, the bending of the curved ribs (15, 16) is altered.
Abstract: A clamping joint for a chair includes a joint coupling a front leg and a rear leg to the seat at an overlap with an inner clamp coupled to the seat and an outer clamp coupled to the inner clamp with the front leg and the rear leg clamped between the inner and outer clamps at the overlap. A finger on one of the inner or outer clamps extends towards the other and disposed between the front and rear legs.
Abstract: A stackable chair has a seat and a backrest carried between opposite frame sides each with a backrest support, a front leg and a rear leg. One or both of the seat and the backrest have a continuous sheet of flexible and elastic mesh or patterned open texture plastic held across and substantially covering an opening in an all-plastic hoop fixed between the frame sides.
Abstract: A bench includes at least two feet, a plurality of seat plates, a back plate, and an armrest. A back portion is extended from an upper edge of each foot, and a cushion portion is formed at a bottom of the back portion. The seat plates and the back plates are fixed to the cushion portions and the back portions of the feet by bolts, and the armrests are fixed to the back plate and two lateral sides of the seat plate by bolts so as to form a strong and fine bench.
Abstract: A collapsible highchair for an infant has a seat (3), a back-rest (4) and a front leg-support (5) that are provided in one by an elongate, contoured moulding (1). Rear leg-support is by tubular legs (2) which are pivoted to the one-piece moulding (1) under the seat (3) and which are held in rearward extension in the erect condition of the highchair by a pivoted tubular frame (10) which snaps into a socket (11) under the seat (3). Release of the frame (10) from the socket (11) allows the legs (2) to fold onto the underside of the front leg-support (5) for collapse of the chair. A tube (14) attached at each end under the seat (3) extends up either side of the seat (3) to form arm-rests (15), and a backwardly/forwardly slidable tray (18) is attached by releasable mounts (20) to the arm-rests (15).
Abstract: One aspect is a furniture piece configured for seating. The furniture piece includes first and second contours and a spreader mechanism coupled between the first and second contours. A three-dimensional cover envelope having panels in each of three-dimensions is configured over the first and second contours and the spreader mechanism thereby surrounding the contours and spreader mechanism. The cover envelope is tensioned in each panel creating a simulated cushion.
Abstract: A stackable chair has a backrest mounted on back supports by resilient mount units for tilting between an upright position and a tilted-back position. Each mount unit includes a rigid coupling member having a lower portion received within an upper end portion of the respective back support and pivotally joined to the respective back support and having an upper portion received within and affixed to a socket in the backrest. A compression spring received within the upper end portion of the back support and engaged between the lower portion of the coupling member and a front wall of the respective back support biases the backrest to the upright position. An armrest is slidably supported on an armrest support for simultaneous and controlled pivotal movement about a substantially vertical pivot axis of a rearward part of the armrest relative to a forward part of the armrest and translatory movement in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis. Movements of the armrests permit dense stacking of the chairs.
