Patent number: 5934747Abstract: A convertible activity center is convertible between a bouncer-type seat configuration and a play table configuration. The activity center includes a tray-shaped body portion having a planar play surface and a central opening therein, and a plurality of adjustable legs which are pivotably mounted to the body portion for supporting the body potion above a supporting surface. A seat assembly is removably mounted within the central opening to provide the bouncer-type seat configuration. The seat assembly is rotatable relative to the body portion for added play value. The leg assemblies are adjustable in height to provide different height settings as the child grows and further include an internal a spring arrangement which allows the body portion to resiliently bounce relative to the leg portions. A locking mechanism is provided for selectively locking out the bouncing feature.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1997Date of Patent: August 10, 1999Assignee: Princeton Innovations, Inc.Inventor: Thomas A. Patent number: 5887945Abstract: An infant seat consists of collapsible and intersecting frame members providing for a substantial base to accommodate elevation of an infant maintained therein. One of the frame members is articulated with the two pieces thereof being interconnected by a spring such that the seat itself may be caused to reciprocate or "rock." Wheels at one end of the base accommodate ease of movement of the infant seat. A toy bar is adapted for selective interconnection with the frame for the presentation of an array of toys over the infant. The frame members are collapsible upon themselves for ease of storage.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1997Date of Patent: March 30, 1999Assignee: Summit International, Ltd.Inventor: Mark A. Sedlack

Patent number: 5509721Abstract: A foldable recliner frame for an infant includes a pair of spaced fixed seats, a horizontal beam securely mounted between the fixed seats, a substantially U-shaped seat supporting member having two distal ends thereof pivotally mounted to upper ends of the fixed seats, a substantially U-shaped backrest supporting member having two distal ends thereof pivotally mounted to the upper ends of the fixed seats, and a substantially U-shaped base frame member having two distal ends thereof pivotally mounted to lower ends of the fixed seats. The fixed seats further have two mutually faced ledges respectively formed thereon to provide a support for the seat supporting member when the recliner frame is in an extended position.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1994Date of Patent: April 23, 1996Inventor: Li-Chu C. Patent number: 5460430Abstract: A seat for an infant includes a base frame portion which includes a pair of upwardly and rearwardly extending inclined members, a pair of connecting assemblies, a collapsible back frame portion, a leg frame portion, and a cover on the back and leg frame portions. The connecting assemblies are operative for connecting the back and leg frame portions to the inclined members so that the back frame portion normally extends upwardly and rearwardly therefrom, and so that the leg frame portion normally extends forwardly therefrom, but so that the leg and back frame portions are optionally pivotable rearwardly and downwardly to a collapsed position of the seat without requiring disassembly thereof.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1993Date of Patent: October 24, 1995Assignee: Hasbro, Inc.Inventors: Charles W. Patent number: 5458550Abstract: A suspendable child walker system includes a slide bar coupled to an upper support surface and formed as a hollow generally rectangular box. The slide bar has a roof and a floor with vertical sidewalls. The roof and floor have parallel long sides and parallel short sides with circular apertures throughout. The floor also has a centrally located aperture extending the majority of the length of the slide bar. A roller assembly consists of cylindrically shaped axles each having a wheel attached to their opposite ends, and a generally tubular main body piece. The main body piece is positioned at right angles to the axles with the axles extending therethrough. The main body piece also includes a centrally located vertical aperture. A spring has a lower extent formed as a curved hook, and an upper extent with the spring between its upper extent and lower extent.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1994Date of Patent: October 17, 1995Inventors: Roger H. Patent number: 5360258Abstract: A single, dual or multiple portable baby support seat is made from mostly interchangeable components of commonly available and inexpensive materials. A frame is formed from two or more spaced apart upright frame members in side-by-side arrangement, the frame members having a base leg for resting on a surface, a support leg raised over the base leg for defining the edge of a baby holding unit and supporting a unit fabric support member, the support leg being supported through an intermediate curved leg connected to the base leg. The frame members are held in side-by-side upright position by transverse members connecting the distal ends through elbow-like or T-like connectors. The connectors are at least partially disconnectable and rotatable with respect to the frame members so that the frame members may be folded flat for transportation or storage. An open mesh, non-absorbent, non-slip fabric forms the fabric support member and includes a strap to secure a baby.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1992Date of Patent: November 1, 1994Assignee: Maurice AdamInventor: Margaret A.
