Abstract: A knockdown furniture construction includes a member having recesses therein, a support structure having shoulders received in the recesses and configurations mating therewith, and separable fasteners for connecting the member with the support structure having strips of complementary gripping elements secured in the recesses of the member and on the shoulders of the support structure such that the mating configurations of the shoulders and recesses reinforces the connection of the complementary gripping elements to provide a sturdy furniture construction capable of being assembled and disassembled without tools or special hardware.

Abstract: A portable folding orthopedic seat unit for use on a chair, automobile seat, or the like. A seat member is hinged to a back member. Vertical tracks extend from the bottom to the top of the back member and support a back-support assembly, comprising two separate, generally elliptically-shaped, centrally extending padded back-support members, spaced apart from each other, and a connecting member joining them together. The connecting member also serves to transfer forces from one back-support member to the other. Two strips that adhere to each other on contact are used to hold the assembly at a selected vertical position on the tracks.

Abstract: Furniture including a cushion comprising padding material, and upholstery material covering the padding material and releasably secured thereto. Such construction may advantageously be utilized for forming a cushion essentially in the form of an open-ended bag which is slipped over a cushion-receiving part of a frame for an item of furniture. The frame may include a base pan which is covered by padding material in turn covered by upholstery material. The upholstery material includes flaps releasably joined together on the underside of the base pan, and at least part of the upholstery material on the underside of the base pan is releasably secured to the base pan.

Abstract: Various attachments are disclosed employing hook and loop fasteners which are confined in a manner to permit engagement and disengagement only in a shear direction.

Abstract: A removable and disposable back and head cloth or sheet attachable by an edge to the top of a chair or seat back and draping over the front of the seat back for engagement with the back of the head of a person sitting in the chair or seat. The head and back sheet of the invention may be used singly or in combination with an additional back and head sheet of a conventional design, and is arranged for use in combination with removable disposable headrests which are attached to the head and back sheet by means of adhesive or by being placed in a pocket provided in or formed by the head and back sheet of the invention.

Abstract: An improved attaching means for affixing a headrest cover to a mounted fastener on seat backs. The improvement comprises an attachment strip having two portions: a first portion which is secured to the headrest cover, and a second portion which extends from the attachment made by the first portion. The second portion of the attachment strip is flexible and has a plurality of openings sufficient to engage the upstanding hook-like elements of the mounted fastener.

Abstract: A protective and/or decorative cover for a walking aid which has a plurality of interconnected members, including at least one support member and one or more leg members, said cover being of flexible material and including one or more non-split primary tube portions with open ends to slidably enclose one or more of said leg members, and one or more elongate secondary tube portions which are split longitudinally for wrap-around enclosing engagement with other leg or support members. Each split tube portion has opposed edge surfaces which are provided with releasable, interengaging fastening means to hold each split tube portion about its related support or leg member in a neat and close engagement.
