Patent number: 5195385Abstract: A mechanism for transmitting force produced by a cylinder includes fulcra (5) and linkages (22) pivotally connected at one of their ends to the fulcra (5). The linkages (22) are pivotally connected at the other of their ends to an anchor block (15). The cylinder is pivotally mounted on the anchor block (15). The anchor block (15) moves on rollers (22) along tram guides (11) during the work stroke of the cylinder. The tram guides (11) have slots through which pivotal connecting means (18) extend. The pivotal connecting means (18) are connected to the one end of the linkages (22).Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1991Date of Patent: March 23, 1993Assignee: Jerome A. JohnsonInventor: Jerome A. Patent number: 5100279Abstract: A material handling apparatus includes a tractor/trailer vehicle which can mount and dismount ore receiving containers, which can transport the containers between a collection site and a deposit site and which can dump ore out of a container at the deposit site. Each container defines a housing with an interior and an open rear area. A tailgate assembly includes a pair of bell crank arms pivotally secured on either side of the container and a tailgate mounted between first arm portions thereof to close the open rear area. A transport frame, preferable on the trailer section of the tractor/trailer vehicle, defines a support for a tiltable bed pivoted mounted on a rear portion of the frame. A linkage assembly is centrally mounted on each side of the tiltable bed and each linkage assembly includes a cam member driven by a pair of first hydraulic cylinders.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1990Date of Patent: March 31, 1992Assignee: JCI, Inc.Inventor: Gary E. Patent number: 4762370Abstract: A tipping apparatus for a truck body includes a piston and cylinder type thrustor connected at one end to the truck body and connected at its other end to a slide on the truck chassis. Initial extension of the thrustor is converted, via a triangular push rod pivoted on the chassis and linked at one end to the slide thereby providing to a substantially vertically upward lifting force on the truck body.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1986Date of Patent: August 9, 1988Assignee: Bennes MarrelInventors: Antoine Corompt, Jean Lablanche, Fernand Michalon

Patent number: 4639043Abstract: A trailer designed to be towed behind a vehicle with a frame that is slidably attached to the trailer body. Inclined ramps are formed on the members of the frame such that when the frame slides rearward relative to the trailer, rollers on the underside of the trailer body cause the trailer to rotate about the axle. The slidable connection between the trailer and the draw bar yoke is slightly negatively inclined to insure that the mechanism will move freely and to enable the trailer to be returned to the horizontal position by merely applying a forward force on the frame. The invention also employs means to secure the trailer body to the frame when the trailer is in its normal horizontal position.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1984Date of Patent: January 27, 1987Inventor: Richard W. Patent number: 4372614Abstract: A pivoted wedge for blocking up the dumping platform of a truck in dumping position. The wedge comprises a main body in which are rotatably mounted a pair of driven rollers designed for riding on the frame of the truck and allowing translation of the body along the frame, and a driving roller designed for riding on the frame of the dumping platform. The driving roller which forms part of the wedge, positively engages the driven rollers and rotates them in the opposite direction towards the junction between the frame of the truck and the frame of the platform when the dumping platform is moving down, thus causing movement of the wedge towards said junction and self-blocking of the platform in dumping position. This wedge which automatically blocks up to the platform of a truck in dumping position in the case of failure of the hydraulic mechanism used for rising up the platform, can advantageously be used as safety device by a mechanic who has to work under the platform of a dumping truck.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1981Date of Patent: February 8, 1983Inventor: Jacques Fortier

Patent number: 4215968Abstract: A frame pivotally supports a container receptacle in a position where a container can be placed conveniently by a lift truck. A carriage mounted for vertical movement under the receptacle bears on the receptacle at a position laterally displaced from the pivot axis. Upward movement of the carriage induces up-and-over dumping movement, during which the container is supported in part by an abutment on the container engageable with the pivot shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1978Date of Patent: August 5, 1980Inventor: Richard Rymer

Patent number: 4062592Abstract: The frame on which a dump truck load box is mounted is pivotally connected at one point to the truck main frame. A lifting arm or frame for the dump box frame is pivotally connected to the truck main frame at a second point on the main frame and also has a pivotal sliding connection with the dump box frame. A lift cylinder on the dump box frame and movable therewith is connected to the lifting arm or frame in such a manner that simple retraction of the cylinder longitudinally of the dump box frame will shift the latter to a steeply angled dumping position.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1976Date of Patent: December 13, 1977Inventor: Marino Paneda Ordonez

Patent number: 4049316Abstract: A rectangular stabilizing and lifting arm assembly is pivotally connected on one end between a pair of stationary truck frame members and is connected on the outer end by a pair of slide track type connections to oppositely disposed longitudinal members of a dump frame that is pivotally connected to the stationary truck frame members and a hydraulic cylinder assembly pivotally connected on one end to the truck frame members and having the free end of the cylinder rod pivotally connected to the outer free end of the rectangular stabilizing and lifting arm assembly, whereby actuation of the cylinder pivots the latter assembly and the dump frame in an arc from a horizontal position above the truck frame members to a raised dump position.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1976Date of Patent: September 20, 1977Inventor: Marino Paneda Ordonez
