Tilting Mechanism Includes Flexible Operator Means (e.g., Cable) Patents (Class 298/22F)
  • Patent number: 4418959
Abstract: A scissor tail dump trailer in which the tongue is so positioned that the load is carried by the trailer and not the towing vehicle. Also the trailer frame is so constructed that the pivot end of the trailer is supported such that the pivot end of the trailer bed is not lowered below the platform carrying the trailer bed.

  • Patent number: 4334820
Abstract: A bucket system incorporating a tilting mechanism comprises a pair of horizontal arms each provided integrally with a pair of stanchions having an arcuate bend in the upper portion thereof and having one or more pulleys disposed at the leading end of the arcuately bent upper portion, a bucket rotatably fastened to the pair of horizontal arms, and a pair of cables fastened at one end thereof to the lower end of the rear side of the bucket, passed over the pulleys on the stanchions, and again fastened at the other end thereof to a stationary mast on the fork lift, whereby elevation of the two-pronged platform of the fork lift whose two prongs are inserted into and held within the pair of horizontal arms causes the cables to stretch to their full length and thereby draw up the lower end of the rear side of the bucket so as to tilt the bucket as a whole and de-elevation of the two-pronged platform from its elevated position causes the bucket to return to its original horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 4200334
Abstract: A transport container on a truck or a trailer may be lifted by means of two pivot arms operated by hydraulic jacks. The container is rotated in response to the lifting movement and in the final emptying position, the center of gravity of the container is still vertically inside the track of the wheels of the truck or trailer.

  • Patent number: 4029359
Abstract: A cable is connected between the dump body of a dump truck and the movable control member of an hydraulic valve to automatically shift the valve from its "raise" position to its "neutral" position when the dump body approaches its uppermost raised position. There is means to prevent inadvertent transmission of forces from the cable to the movable control member to thereby prevent accidental lowering of the dump body due to an inadvertent pull on the cable.

  • Patent number: 4003601
Abstract: The hydraulic valve which controls the hydraulic cylinders in a dump body mechanism has its control member coupled by a cable to the dump body to automatically shift the valve from its "raise" to its "neutral" condition when the dump body reaches its uppermost position when being raised. Two lever arms are pivotally attached to the valve body adjacent to each other, the first lever arm being coupled to the valve control member and to a manual control lever, and the second lever being coupled to the dump body cable. A first abutment is attached to the second lever in position to engage the first lever to move it from its "raise" to its "neutral" position in response to movement of the second lever caused by a pull on the dump body cable.
