  • Patent number: 7037034
Abstract: Accordingly there is disclosed a safety door system, comprising a hopper body containing a powered implement powered by a hydraulic control system, for dispensing liquid or granular materials or for agitating the liquid or granular materials; a safety door for covering and preventing access into the hopper body during use; a hydraulic actuating cylinder operative to open the safety door; and an interlock device coupled between the hydraulic actuating cylinder and the hydraulic control system such that the powered implement within the hopper body is prevented from operating whenever the safety door is not in its closed position. In another embodiment there is disclosed a method of limiting access to a hopper body of a mobile pavement repair system during its use, the hopper body having a powered implement within the hopper body and powered by a hydraulic motor.

  • Patent number: 6920288
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention generally provide a method for automatically detecting and provisioning new optical connections in a network element (NE). The detection of the optical connections is generally accomplished via optical scans, and in particular, an optical spectral analysis type scan, which may be conducted at specific times and at specific points within the NE in order to determine an association corresponding to a new connection through the NE. The automatic detecting in provisioning method of the invention may generally be implemented on connections in end terminals (ET), as well as connections in optical add/drop multiplexer (OADM) NEs. As such, embodiments of the invention allow for automatic detection and provisioning of optical circuit packs in an optical line system (OLS) based upon optical scans configured to detect the presence of valid incoming client signals through the NE.

  • Patent number: 6834917
Abstract: A self-discharging freight container for bulk solids of the type which discharge by tilting to that a hinged wall and a floor become coplanar, as a container braced by a pair of triangulating braces adjacent the hinge. Rams extending from the static frame push against the braces and rotate the container by 40°. Side-by-side and end-to-end versions tip to the left and right. A crane lifted version is included.

  • Patent number: 6478517
Abstract: A rectangular sheet of extruded, twin-walled, fluted plastic fabricated from a polyethylene copolymer is scored with N parallel lines, wherein N is any odd number three (3) or greater. The sheet of plastic is then bent or otherwise configured along the N parallel lines to form N+1 panels. The first and last panels are snapped into place along the opposing sidewalls, respectively, of a shipping container. The intermediate panels are bent into N + 1 2 V-shaped configurations which together will hold the bottom portion of a load of dry particle materials which will be shipped or stored therein. The materials may be loaded and unloaded through parts.

  • Patent number: 5971494
Abstract: The hopper bottom trailer has a main frame supported by wheels, a hopper with hopper walls that extend downwardly to a discharge opening and a discharge door, and two side walls. An upper side frame member is attached to each side wall. A front upper frame member and a rear upper frame member are secured to the upper side frame members. A forward inclined floor panel is pivotally attached to the front upper frame member and a rear inclined floor panel is pivotally attached to the rear upper frame member. The forward and rear inclined floor panels are pivoted from an inclined position in which grain can slide down their surfaces to the hopper to a raised position which opens the inside of the trailer to receive elongated cargo.

  • Patent number: 5769501
Abstract: A multiple compartment storage body for a refuse collection vehicle includes a floor, a roof, a plurality of walls extending between the floor and the roof, a partition and a bulkhead latch. The partition has a first opposing end portion pivotally coupled intermediate the floor and the roof between the walls to allow a second opposing end portion to pivot between the floor and the roof. The bulkhead latch is pivotally supported adjacent the roof and extends from the roof proximate the second opposing end portion. A lower most section of the plurality of sections includes a support member for engaging and supporting the second opposing end portion of the partition between the floor and the roof. The vertical distance the bulkhead vertically extends below the roof is adjustable to adjust a distance at which the second opposing end portion of the partition is supported above the floor.

  • Patent number: 5064338
Abstract: An implement mounting apparatus for use with utility tractors, lawn and garden tractors and riding front mowers and other vehicles which allows removable mounting and use of numerous attachments for performing multiple grounds maintenance, yard and lawn care or gardening functions. A support frame includes an upper member for positioning and a bottom member for supporting implements such as lift forks, a tool organizer, a work platform and housing body. The support frame is rigidly or pivotally mountable on a three-point hitch, a mounting/lift frame having a support strut, or a tow bar assembly. Wheels may be added for use of the apparatus with a tow bar as a trailer. The housing body is useful with a scraper blade as a plow, or may be easily converted to a hopper assembly or scoop by adding hopper or scoop members. The hopper assembly may be opened to dump contained material with a spring biased latch mechanism which may be locked closed. The scoop member is secured in position with the same latch mechanism.
