Abstract: Disclosed are a method for rotary clearing in a stripping tooth holder of a mining machine and a rotary clearing device in a stripping tooth holder implementing the method. The rotary clearing device includes a reciprocating impact power box (2), a stripping tooth holder (3), a rotary clearer supporting mechanism (4) and a rotary clearer (5), where the rotary clearer (5) includes a shifter (6) and a clearing drive roller (7), the reciprocating impact power box (2) includes a reciprocating impact power box power member (8), the reciprocating impact power box power member (8) supports and drives the stripping tooth holder (3), the rotary clearer supporting mechanism (4) is arranged on the reciprocating impact power box (2) or on the stripping tooth holder (3), a rear end of the stripping tooth holder (3) is connected to the reciprocating impact power box power member (8).
Abstract: A method for removing material from a rock wall. The method includes moving a cutting edge through the rock wall to create a first slot in the rock wall, moving the cutting edge through the rock wall to create a second slot in the rock wall, the second slot being separated from the first slot by an uncut portion, the uncut portion defining a base surface attached to the wall, cutting a notch into the base surface of the uncut portion, and applying a force on the uncut portion to break the uncut portion away from the wall.

Abstract: Arrangements are for use with interconnected conveyor sections, such as push beams, commonly found in mining applications. In one embodiment a mechanism includes an elongated dog-bone shaped coupler having a first and second end for insertion between the conveyor sections. A first end of the coupler is secured to a first conveyor section, while a second end of the coupler is received in a recess formed in a second conveyor section. A pivotally mounted cam includes a recess for mating with the upwardly projecting, flared portion of the second end of the coupler. The cam pivots automatically upon being engaged by a free end of the coupler to allow it to pass and then pivots to capture it in place, thereby simply establishing a secure manner of connection. In another, the ends of the conveyor sections are specially adapted to form an articulating joint.
Abstract: A retraction mechanism for drawing a plough drive chain into a chain channel of a coal plough guide built onto the side of a scraper chain conveyor comprises a retraction slide which can be drawn through the chain channel and guided. The plough chain is connected to the slide which, via a chain section and a chain claw can be connected to an external traction drive, preferably to the scraper chain assembly of the scraper chain conveyor, so that the mechanism can draw the plough drive chain through the chain channel. The traction chain incorporates an overload clutch which limits the traction force. The clutch has two complementary parts one of which has a detent ball pressed by a prestressed spring into a detent recess of the other clutch part, so that the clutch is closed. A releasable lock or fixing device secures the detent ball in its released position.
Abstract: A method of and an arrangement for loosening, loading and transporting of stratified minerals includes a single continuously rotating and forceably guided pulling organ, a plurality of loosening elements integrated in the pulling organ in its working run extending in a longitudinal direction of a longwall, and a plurality of transporting elements also integrated in the same single pulling organ at its transporting run located behind the working run at a back filling side, wherein the loosening elements perform loosening and loading functions, whereas the transporting elements perform the transporting functions in an opposite longitudinal direction of the longwall.

Abstract: A long wall mining machine includes a drum cutter-loader and face conveyor wherein the drum cutter-loader is overhung and is supported by a support arm adjacent to the mine face. Nozzles direct high pressure liquid jets against the forward edge of the support arm to cut away the mining face and permit the face side support arm to advance as the mining machine advances. In one embodiment the nozzles are provided along an inclined cutting edge at the forward end of the support arm. Such nozzles may be fixed or oscillating. In an alternative embodiment the nozzles are provided in the cylindrical edge zone of the shearer drum and direct the high pressure fluid jets against the cutter edge at the forward end of the support arm.
