    Abstract: The present invention is to provide an assisted-opening folding knife, which includes a handle having a first positioning groove and a first recess, a blade capable of pivotally springing out of the handle, and a pushing device. A first post on the blade is moved along the first recess while being rotated into the handle, and a second post on the blade is exposed outside the handle while being received in the handle. The pushing device includes a pushing element located in the first positioning groove and a second spring provided between the pushing element and the first positioning groove, so as for the pushing element to move along the groove. Thus, while the blade is rotated into the handle, the first post presses and passes the tip of the pushing element and is then blocked by the pushing element, thereby preventing the blade from springing out of the handle.

When the blade is received in the handle and the sliding portion is driven to move the sliding key and release the blade, the pressing portion presses the blade to rotate a predetermined angle for enabling the first resilient element to pop the blade out of the handle. Thus, a user only has to slide the sliding key to release and pop the blade out of the handle automatically.

When the blade is turned fully out of the handle, the other end of the elastic stop plate can be abutted against the end of the blade so as to maintain the blade in a fully opened state, and a resisting block installed inside the handle then moves and firmly blocks the elastic stop plate to avoid the blade from being accidentally turned backward to the handle.

    Abstract: An improvement of a folding knife locking mechanism with an adjustable wedge to remove blade slop. The present mechanism allows for smooth opening and closing of the blade by limiting friction against the blade as it rotates. This knife has a bearing system for low friction blade rotation. Also the leaf strap lock is arranged so that it only comes into contact with the blade at the start of opening and at the end of opening, further limiting the friction forces against the blade. Provided is also an adjustment wedge to remove blade lock slop. In the manufacturing process loose tolerances can be adjusted out using the adjustment wedge. Normal use wear against the stop pins and handles can cause some looseness of the blade which can also be removed by the adjustment wedge.

    Abstract: A folding knife includes a handle and a blade pivotally supported on the handle. A tang of the blade includes a cam surface. The cam surface has a substantially arcuate guiding portion and an engagement portion that is formed continuously from one end of the guiding portion. The handle has a blade locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes a slider and a coil spring that biases the slider. The slider is movable along the longitudinal direction of the handle between a lock position, at which the slider is engaged with the engagement portion, and an unlock position, at which the slider is separate from the engagement portion. The slider has a pressing portion that is engaged with the blade when the blade is arranged at the folded position. By moving the slider in the direction from the lock position toward the unlock position when the blade is at the folded position, the pressing portion presses the blade out of the folded position toward the open position.

    Abstract: A folding knife incorporates an opening assist mechanism that functions to drive the blade from the closed to the open position. A pair of torsion springs held axially on the blade axis pin and within a pair of bushings are stationary relative to the knife handle. One leg of each spring is fixed to a bushing. The opposite leg of the spring rides in a pocket formed in the surface on the blade axially around the opening through which the blade axis pin is inserted. As the blade rotates from the closed position toward the open position, the legs of the springs rotate through and cooperate with structures formed on the bushings to transfer the spring pressure instantly to the blade to drive the blade open.
