Abstract: An agricultural vehicle including a chassis and a header carried by the chassis that includes a cutterbar assembly with a plurality of cutting units. Each of the cutting units includes a rotatable disc carrying a plurality of knives each defining at least one cutting edge and a guard assembly including a plurality of extensions. Each of the extensions includes a bottom guard portion connected to a top guard portion to define a knife slot that allows the plurality of knives to pass through during rotation of the disc. At least one rotary driver couples to the rotatable disc of at least one of the cutting units.
Abstract: A shaving apparatus has plurality of shaving heads, each with a rotatable cutting member (5) associated with and rotatable relative to a shear plate (3). For driving the cutting members (5), a plurality of drive units (9) is provided, each of said units extending at least from drive rim (7) engaged for driving the drive unit to a coupling end (27) coupled to one of the cutting members (5) for transmitting a rotation of the drive unit (9) to the cutting member (5). The drive rims (7) of the drive units (9) are suspended for rotation about axes of rotation (20) that are oriented at angles relative to each other and diverge from each other in a direction from the drive rim (7) to the coupling (27).

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a hair clipper blade includes providing a blank with a comb teeth shaped cutting edge portion, and forging the cutting edge portion to have an acute tip angle.
Abstract: A replaceable cartridge (20) is provided suitable for use with a rotary handpiece that is particularly adapted for shearing sheep. The cartridge (20) is provided with a plurality of radially directed projections (24) with which are associated a plurality of aligned recesses (26) for releasably receiving cutting elements in the form of elongate chips (22) preferably having a V-shape with a centrally located longitudinal groove. The replaceable cartridge allows for the quick and easy replacement of blunt or damaged cutting chips by either allowing individual chips to be replaced within the cartridge or by replacing the cartridge with a fresh cartridge having new chips.
Abstract: A cutting implement employing a pair of rollers placed vertically one above the other, the rollers having sharpened edges that slightly overlap and touch each other at a selected position, forming a cutting point where they touch. When the rollers are rotated, the sharpened edges form a continuous cutting edge for cutting material such as most paper and plastics. The rollers are provided with a degree of toe-in in the direction of rotation to insure that they remain in contact with each other during the cutting process. The rollers are rotatably mounted to a stiff carrier to provide dimensionally predictable location of the rollers with respect to each other, and to insure the smooth flow of material through the rollers as the material is being cut.

Abstract: A shearing cradle to support a sheep in a reclined position on rollers. Shearing device situated between a pair of rollers, so that as the rollers rotate, the sheep is shorn by the shearing device.
Abstract: A precision hand-held pipe cutting tool is provided utilizing an elongated body which is hand-gripped and contains an axially aligned motor, and a rotating saw blade parallel and adjacent to an angularly adjustable dial with a variety of depth limiting notches in the circumference thereof such that a pipe may be cut all, or part way, through, or provided with an annular channel. The tool also incorporates an integral reamer which de-burrs the interior edge of the cut pipe.
Abstract: An oscillating knife cutting apparatus preferably for use on a row crop harvesting unit of a forage harvester to sever crop material from its standing position in a field as it is delivered into the harvester. The apparatus comprises a main support with a main pair of knives fixed thereon, a bearing fixed to said main support, a shaft rotatably mounted in said bearing, and a secondary support with a knife fixed thereto. The secondary support is mounted on said shaft for oscillatory movement therewith relative to said main support. The secondary knife is disposed between the pair of main knives and is used to sever material disposed between the secondary knife and each of the main knives. The secondary knife is adjustably mounted for movement toward the plane defined by the main knives by adjustment of a member threadably mounted longitudinally of the shaft whereby rotation of the threaded member frictionally engages a clamp mounting the secondary support on the shaft.
Abstract: An improved cutting unit for incorporation in a sheep-shearing apparatus having a flexibly curvable comb which conforms to the curved contours of an animal's body, thereby enabling a larger area to be fleeced at any one stroke, whether the apparatus is manually operated, power driven, or is an automatic or high speed fleecing machine.
