One Movable Blade Patents (Class 30/249)
  • Patent number: 10368495
Abstract: A tree pruner has a connecting pole. The connecting pole is connected with a main body. The main body includes a blade seat and a blade pivotally connected to the blade seat. The main body is pivotally connected with a rotating wheel. The rotating wheel is connected with a pull member. The rotating wheel is rotatable relative to the main body by pulling the pull member. An end surface of the rotating wheel has a traction portion located away from a pivot axis of the rotating wheel. The blade has a drive arm extending outwardly. One end of a pull rod is pivotally connected to the traction portion. Another end of the pull rod is pivotally connected to the drive arm. By pulling the pull member, the rotating wheel is driven to rotate, and the pull rod is pulled to drive the blade to swing for performing cutting.

Abstract: A pruning hook includes an extension shank (30), a blade unit (10) including a fixed blade (12) mounted on the extension shank and a movable blade (13) pivotally connected with the fixed blade, a driving cord (15) connected with the movable blade, a slide (16) connected with the driving cord, a pull cord (20) connected with the slide, a control member (40) movably mounted on the extension shank and connected with a first end (21) of the pull cord, and a pulling member (50) movable relative to the extension shank and connected with a second end (22) of the pull cord. Thus, the blade unit is driven by the control member or the pulling member so that the blade unit has two operation modes to facilitate a user operating the pruning hook to perform a cutting action.

  • Patent number: 7845082
Abstract: A hand tool for cutting includes a first handle, a second handle pivotably connected to the first handle, and a cutting head including a fixed first blade and a pivotable second blade to provide cutting action with the first blade. The first and second handles are movable between a fully retracted configuration and a fully extended configuration to selectively adjust the length of the handles. The cutting head is selectively rotatable about a central longitudinal axis and carries the blades upon rotation of the cutting head to move the blades between a plurality of different orientations relative to the first and second handles. The cutting head includes a connector operably connecting the second handle and the second blade so that pivoting motion of the second handle moves the second blade relative to the first blade to provide cutting action therebetween.

Thus, the pulling member is pulled by a user's arm to drive the blade unit so that the blade unit is driven by a greater force applied by the user's arm and has a larger shearing force to perform a cutting action in an easier manner so as to cut a larger object easily and conveniently.

Abstract: A cutter tool includes first and second elongate members carrying a cutting blade pivotally attached with the second member and slidably attached with the first member to enable cutting a tubular workpiece with an increased mechanical advantage. The tool has a first handle having a cradle for supporting a tube to be cut, a second handle pivotally attached to the first handle, a cutter blade attached to the second handle, and a pin and slot between the cutter blade and the first handle. The slot configuration provides for displacement of the blade relative to the cradle to initially apply a higher cutting force which is followed by a transition to a lower cutting force and a higher rate of blade displacement.
