  • Patent number: 10046467
Abstract: Provided is a pair of scissors, which can cut an object efficiently with lighter force, and makes it easy to cut a cardboard and the like since the pin joint does not hinder the cutting. The pair of scissors comprises: a first handle portion operated by a thumb; a second handle portion operated by other fingers; a first blade portion which connects to the first handle portion; and a second blade portion which connects to the second handle portion; first and second protruding portions which protrude the first blade portion and the second blade portion to the second handle portion side from a position where the first blade portion and the second blade portion intersect each other; and a pin joint that rotatably joins both of the first protruding portion and the second protruding portion to each other.

  • Publication number: 20140033543
Abstract: Kitchen scissors are curved and have a single or multiple blade for safer, faster and more efficient slicing of food, for example. The scissors can be used for various items, such as for cutting meat, vegetables and other food products. The curved design of the scissor blades allows a user to easily operate the scissors to cut items disposed against a horizontal surface without having to uncomfortably and unsafely twist one's wrist as would be required with conventional straight-blade scissors. The scissors can have multiple blades, spaced apart a desired “bite-sized” length, to make cutting food products even faster. The hooked tip not only improves the slicing action by lifting the food ever so slightly during cutting but such hooked tips also have the additional advantage of grabbing food with a tong effect prior to slicing.

  • Patent number: 7926185
Abstract: A pair of scissors with comb comprises a first blade having an edge, a second blade openably and closably supported together with the first blade and having an edge and a comb member attached to the first blade. The comb member is provided with a plurality of comb tooth groups with different characteristics from each other. The comb member is attached to and detached from the first blade. The mounting state of each comb tooth group is changed with respect to the first blade, whereby, for example, an extending direction of the comb tooth group is changed based on differences in the direction of eyebrows so that each comb tooth group can be used properly. Since an extending direction of a comb tooth of each comb tooth group inclines, the scissors with comb can be rendered convenient when eyebrows are trimmed.

  • Patent number: 4753011
Abstract: An improved hand operated metal shear that removes a strip of metal in small sections with the lower cutter attached to the upper handle by a cylindrical post of lesser diameter than the strip of metal removed so that the shears may be turned sharply to either side without distortion of the metal being cut and with the upper box-like cutter having a curved bottom to facilitate cutting of corrugated metal.

  • Patent number: 4635363
Abstract: A hand operated cutting tool, having a pair of blades pivotally connected together at a pivot point and having a handle joined to each blade, is provided. A relatively short handle on one of the blades extends upwardly and rearwardly from a line defined by the blade points and the pivot point. A ring is attached to a short handle to receive the thumb of the user. A relatively long handle is on the other blade and it extends upwardly and rearwardly. The long handle receives the user's fingers in a line substantially parallel to the line defined by the blade points and the pivot point.

  • Patent number: 4507864
Abstract: Cutting shears or scissors have pivotally connected blades and shank portions extending at an acute angle with respect to the cutting edges of the blades wherein handles of the shears connected to the shank portions lie forward of the pivot connection between the blades in the direction of cut of material to be cut by the shears. The shears handles are configured such that the handle to be grasped by the fingers of the operator's hand is fixed to a blade which has a surface adapted for supporting the shears during use thereof. The other blade is provided with a handle particularly adapted for receiving the thumb wherein rotation of the thumb together with thrust of the forearm in the direction of cut or closing action yields a large mechanical advantage without substantial manual effort.
